    Bad esata port

    • Written by from Chicago

I bought this product hoping to upgrade all my esata drives to their max capabilities. Finally found the Hub in stocked so I took the leap and forked out the cash ($200!!!) just to speed up my drives. In reality I just want to make use of the thunderbolt connection to knock the dust off. When I got it in the mail plugged it in and no drive mounted. I tried replugging and nothing. I unplugged the TB cable and it restarted my Mac. I tried the other esata port and it mounted. Called Lacie and they were certain that the it was the Hub. Returned it and got my money back. It was a sign I didn't need to waist my money and just wait until TB gets cheaper. I did give it two stars since I did a speed test on the good port and got 115MB/s meeting max capabilities.
