The Beoplay 8A is the best sounding boom box on the market

    • Written by from Arlington

I have had this unit for about a month now and the sound and look are both outstanding with such a clarity and a real punch to the base. Very little distortion at maximum volume; just amazed! Had a Bose previously but this unit blows them out of the water big time! Well done B&O!!

Sound quality that you must hear to believe!

    • Written by from Flushing

I bought this unit after already owning the original beosound 8 and a bunch of other docks which I've since given away. The deep rich sound that B&O recreates with these one piece units actually sounds better than some separate systems I've owned. Bass so deep but at the same time delicate imaging and precision, you must hear the A8 to believe how good it sounds.
I like the fact that I can charge my iPad on it while streaming my music from my iPhone thru AirPlay and when I turn my tv on, it plays thru the A8 with great clarity. This one is the total package.

    so much bass broke window

    • Written by from Fishers

i bought these because they looked good (except for the price, but worth it). because i live in a 1900's house and the windows are weak. i put them in the kitchen next to the window and played jayz. when i went to change the song there was a big crack in the window. to be sure that it was the speakers and not the house i took them to the bathroom and did the same thing in the kitchen. overall look great have good sound. my only warnings are keep them away from windows if you live in an old house

    Amazing Sound From A8

    • Written by from Atlanta

The A8 has amazing sound and great connections. I have i-Mac, i-Phone and i-Pad and use them all as well as the AirPlay. As far as the lighting connector the guys at Bang&Olufsen Atlanta told me I could sign up on Beo-Play to get a Free connector. What other company or dock can you use both old and new connections. I got what I paid for which was great service and sound.

Best thing ever happening to my digital music collection!

    • Written by from La Jolla

These visually stunning speakers easily fill out even large living rooms with very crisp sound and an amazing bass. The wifi connection to my iPhone and iPad was set up in minutes and has worked smoothly for a week without a single interruption. Very convenient and certainly better than any Bluetooth based system I have tried.

While on the pricy side, these speakers are absolutely phenomenal!

    Great Speakers with great sound

    • Written by from Thompson Ridge

we live in a house from the 1700's - we have a kitchen with a balcony around it and a high ceiling. The sound is amazing we have tried others in this configuration with out success using blue tooth. The distance from the speakers can be between 20 and 35 feet with out a problem.

The air play works great was very easy to connect and we can control the speakers with our i phones or I pads or even the air mac in my office off the balcony.

    Beoplay A8 -- Outstanding

    • Written by from Larchmont

I spent a lot of time trying to not buy these speakers bec they're pricey. But nothing compares in this size. Has everything I want: clean and clear separation, solid base, true vocals and keys. Better than plenty of larger speakers. Plus, it's portable enough to move onto the terrace for a dinner party. The design is so clean-lined it's hip. Crank up the volume, and a large room is full and dynamite--no strain, no distortion. Dynamic at low levels, too. Love 'em!

Beoplay A8 high end compact audiophile system for Smartphones and Tablets

    • Written by from Laval

Pricey but very efficient high quality built and design (aluminum).Very light (under 10lbs) and compact, yet very powerful;can easily be carried from one room to the other for great flexibility and convenience.Well balanced hi-fi sound with surprisingly strong bass output down to 38 hz.Fully compatible with old 30 pins or lightning cnx (included in box).Dock and recharge any iDevice swiftly while playing. With the aux input, can serve as a high end sound bar for TV. Can play surprisingly loud without any distortion, and is capable of filling a large room, but will perform at its best in a medium (or small) room. Could be the only system you will ever need in a small apartment ,or at the cottage.Airplay and dlna capability.I am very impressed with overall quality of this component .It is not just about good looks.I am finally able to release anywhere throughout the house, all that digital music that has been trapped digitally, and with beautiful sound , at the touch of a small screen.

Excellent sound, excellent AirPlay functionality, excellent docking

    • Written by from Malmö, Sweden

Works as advertised. Can be connected to local network with WiFi or cable. With latest software update (version 3.0.5) it works well with iPhone 5, when using new dock.

Also works well with old iPhone and iPad docked. And with AirPlay. And with streaming of music through their own software for iOS or through any other app for iOS capable of playing sound.

Sound is amazing. Best sound ever for such small speakers. Period.

Only minus so far is that updating the hardware's internal software is a bit of a hazzle as it requires an ethernet connection of some kind. But once it has it, software is very easily updated using the iOS application or from your Mac / PC.

In general - very happy :-)

Purchased new, it didn't work. B and O claim that it was my broadband. Changed broadband provider from Sky to BT, at significant cost, it still didn't work. Sometimes the air play would connect, but it only lasted a few minutes even though the router was in the same room. B and o then said it was that we needed a software upgrade. We had an engineer out, and had to go to store. With 2 software updates b and o claim now that its because BT isn't compatible, and that we need to buy a new router! They say that it is a common fault with BT. Paid nearly a thousand pounds for this, and now have to pay more for a router as bang and olufsen say that it's not the product, it's that sky and bt offer poor routers! The A8 has never been played. Waste of money, I will never buy bang and olufsen again. I would never recommend them nor the a8. Steer clear!!

    Won't work with new connectors

    • Written by from Boca Raton

I bought this at the same time I bought the new MacMini, only to discover that it will not work with the new connectors apple has now put on the Mac Mini and I assume any future products. It is a beautiful set of speakers, but for $1000, not having the ability to dock your products becomes rather ridiculous, like the new unnecessary connector they put on. Unfortunate, but certainly not worth the money if you can't use the dock.

Looks nice but not worth the money. Can get just as good if not better sound quality at half the price with Beats. Also not BlueTooth connected.
