    Genuinely great sound

Firstly, these NEED to be run in, as with many speaker products. Out the box, these sound wrong - for me, I felt they had an overly emphasised and harsh mid. I was convinced I would return them, but with a full week of use, they settled into their final presentation of sound.

For in-ear buds, these are a very well sounding product indeed - they do have impressive bass strength and clarity (it it critical that they are fit properly into your ear; if you don't use the best silicone buds for your ear shape, then the bass is lost). The treble is fast and responsive too.

They have a metal cover for the jack, which may help prevent wire fatigue.

The remote control is quite high up - a bit too high- makes it awkward to actually look at the controls if you need to see which button you are pressing, which is important because it isn't easy to distinguish between them by feel alone - you have to feel-guess for the middle button which is my only pain point.

Typical of all in-ear buds, is that they get uncomfortable if used for more than an hour. Apart from that, very happy with the purchase.

Recommended for great in-ear listening quality

I'm not sure if it's just me but when i put on these earphones the moment i bought them, i felt very nauseous with the fit and the sound. I bought these because of the great reviews and the sales staff said she had speakers of this brand. I thought it was good enough and not spend extra for bose earphones but i'm disappointed. I'm exchanging them for bose.

Straight up, these are great - well rounded balanced sound, non-fatiguing.
Only drawback are the cables which persistently find a way to constantly tangle themselves.

These are perhaps the worst headphones I've ever used.
I own Harman Kardon equipment for my home theater and love it but these NI headphones put the brand to shame.

No mids, no lows, go with the new Apple headphones over these and do not look back!!!!!!

Was this useful? Any good review is likely a fake submission.

    Excellent sound and build quality

For the price, the build quality is outstanding. The sound quality is the same. Bass levels are acceptable for this type of in-ear headphones. The sound clarity is by far the best. When the volume is cranked, these headphones won't break a sweat. Very durable, as well. For this price you can get the Bose in-ear headphones which I previously owned but had very poor audio quality compared to these. Very good for the price!

    No bass or mid sound.

I have a set of the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks for my desktop which are excellent. They have beautiful full sound. I was naturally expecting their earphones to be just as high of quality, especially considering the cost. They are not good quality. The highs are sharp and any sounds that enter that range will stand apart from each other. However, in order to even hear the bass, the volume needs to be cranked up and my ears suffered as a result. The bass is quiet and the mids are flat and tinny.

I played 'Money' by Pink Floyd as I always do to test new headphones and I could hardly hear the bass guitar in the beginning. I got nearly as good quality out of my friends $2 set from amazon, and the new apple headphones put these to shame as far as fullness of sound goes. I don't know what the team was thinking, but they must not have used their product because there is no natural balance whatsoever. Little bass to be heard. I will be returning these.

Good design and sound clarity. I like the multiple in-ear "fitting" pads -- after trying a couple, I found the perfect fit.

I bought these after losing both pair of earbuds I had, and after my SkullCandy earbuds broke. I just got a raise, so I thought I'd hook myself up and snag a pair of these H/K earbuds and enjoy sound quality like I'd never before heard.

    Enter: disappointment.

I've had them and used them daily for near a month, and every single time I slip them on I'm let down. The highs are piercing and painful, even at a reasonable volume with bass boost on. The bass is near nonexistent, sounding cheap when it does rear it's ugly head. You can forget turning up anything past low level- it'll be painful. Rick Ross lost his "wough," Phoenix lost their mellow bump both thanks to these. John Coltrane did sound good, minus the piercing horn.

Plus, after a week the metal cover near the mating end of the cord broke off (appears it was glued on) and makes it a pain to now remove the phones from my phone.

I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.

Just bought a $29 pair of Apple ear pods and am now enjoying much better sound at 1/3 the price.

    I returned them...

For the first time, I decided to buy myself a really good pair of earphones. So I ended up choosing this pair of HK. It was also my first pair of noise-isolating earphones.

The sound of those earphones is amazing, clear sound with really good bass. It was a joy after years of Apple earbuds utilization! The silicone tips were very comfortable and soft. But the rectangle design of the earphones itself hurt my ears after half an hour of use or so.

But the worst part was, since they are noise-isolating, is the occlusion effect that they produce. I heard my breathing, my steps and the cable rubbing against my clothes or face way too much, and at the end, it gave me headaches... So I had to returned them :-(

    Excellent Set of Earbuds

The best set of earbuds I have used. Crystal clear sound, light-weight design and extremely comfortable to wear all day. In the past I have used earbuds from B&O, Bose, JBL and Bowers Wilkins all of which were far more expensive and in no way could compete with the sounds quality of the Harmon Kardon models. Great purchase for a small amount of money.

I've never had headphones this nice. I have only ever had apple headphones and these are 100 times better! I got them to travel to NC with and they tuned out the noise of the car nice to where I could only hear my music. Kind of pricey but you are getting quality headphones.

I returned these within 5 days. The clarity and range of sounds (frequency reponse) were unimpressive. I've had their speakerdoc for several years and adore it. I thought I would have the same experience with their headphones...apparently not. They are a waste of money in my opinion.

The sound is phenomenal. The bass is very rich, the mids are pure, and the highs are crisp but not harsh. The fit is very good, fitting snuggly in the ear with no ear fatigue or pain. It also holds the sound in, and outside noise out. The Apple controls are awesome too, makes answering calls, pausing music on the plane to hear announcements, etc. all extremely easy.

Comfortable fit. Surprisingly great noise insulation as the harman kardon website states. I think that for the price they are an awesome pair of headphones. They come in a very nice box and the cable and remote are made from high quality material and you can tell by the feel. I definitely recommend this.

This is my first purchase of ear phones other than the ones that come with the iPhone and iPad. I have to say that i am really pleased with the proudct. The ear phone snug into your ears and you dont feel the slight pain after using them for longer periods of time. The noise isolation is realy good. I listned to music on the train today to work and believe me, the isolation was really good. The higs, mids and lows were realy audible and i really enjoyed the music wearing them. They are stylish in design and really well built. For anyone looking for some good ear phones at a decent price, this really fits the need.

My boss got these for me as a gift as a thank you and I love these! What a great gift! I'm incredibly pleased to have something that's seemingly so high-end. I just wanted to share my experience with them even though I didn't buy them myself but wow I'm impressed. Comfortable and great sound. The Apple controls are a nice touch too
