Didn't last more than 1 month

    • Written by from Madison

Don't get me wrong, the quality is awesome (probably the best I've had for small headphones) but they only lasted 1 month... I did not drop them or anything but the right ear just stopped working...

    just not worth the money

    • Written by from Surabaya

I bought this earphone for about 70USD and i regret buying them . Really it's such a waste of money . The quality of the sound isn't as great as i expected . I'd rather buy skull***** which sometimes way cheaper and it has a better sound quality .

    smooth sounding phones

    • Written by from san carlos

these are the best compromise between ear-buds, which fall out at the most inopportune times, and in-ear phones, which clog the ear making it difficult to swallow (don't like anything more solid than a q-tip in my ear canal).

these phones have a nice smooth sound. adequate bass response for such a design. decent imaging. overall a great purchase.

These headphones are the worst. The sound is horrible and the way they fit on your ears is so uncomfortable. I don't recommend these headphones to anyone they are a complete waste of money!!!!

    Best headphones for running!

    • Written by from Mesa

This is the second pair of these that I have owned. The first pair were replaced under warranty when just out of the blue they would make the voice control come on my iPhone interrupting the music. This seemed to have something to do with sweat wicking down the cloth on the cord into the remote control part of the headphone while running here in Phoenix in the warm weather. Luckily they replaced them but I did have to jump a through a few hoops to get a new pair. The good news is I have had the new pair for about 9 months and have had no repeat of the problem that I had with the other pair which is great because these are so good that I honestly can not live without them.....Everything is perfect.......the sound, the quality, the comfort and fit. Speaking of the fit, make sure to try a few of the sizing attachments until you see what really works for you and you may go through a period of discomfort or poor fit until you find the right one. Once you get the fit right they are just so perfect for running, and they almost never fall out of your ear. These headphones are worth far more than they charge for them!!!!

    Great Customer Service

    • Written by from New Haven

I owned a pair of Medis for just under a year and loved them. When the sound in one ear went out, I contacted Urbanears and they gave me a brand new pair for the cost of shipping. Their customer service was easy to contact, fast and friendly. I recommend their products.

    Best "Bud" - Worst "Plug

    • Written by from WINNIPEG

Upside: Love this headphone for working out. Great sound, great fit, great looks, and I love that they don't totally block your ear canal.

Downside: I've been through two pairs in two years because the plug keeps shorting out. I would LOVE if Urbanears put a 90 degree angled plug on these so they wouldn't bump my arm when plugged into my iPod on my arm band.

Would definitely recommend - just wish they could do something about the plug!!

    great ... but colours please!!!

    • Written by from Vancouver

i love these headphones ... very unique style ... wicked comfortable ... can't believe that apple only stocks them in graveyard black with all the beautiful options available!

the wires are not great and with loads of pretty careful adult use they still only last about 18 months :-(

but the colour options, comfort, cord fabric, style, price and sound ... oh did i mention sound? nice sound too! d'oh!

they are the best i have found for commuter headphones (i want to be able to hear a bit around me for safety reasons). there are so many stuff your ears shut ones ... these are different ... beautiful in every way ... i own olive green, orange and pink ones ... the white ones always had rotten wiring and i tossed them (total loss). test them right away ... with a phone and with music ... when they are good they are great.

    style plus sound!

    Faulty Product

    • Written by from San Francisco

At first these headphones appear to be awesome. Comfortable, good audio, and they stay put when working out with them in. Then the below par durability kicks in. Generally 1 ear will start to drop out and then the other will making these completely useless. This happens with standard use for only a couple of months.

I've had to return THREE pairs of these. Look into other headphones before buying these!

    Multiple Broken Pairs

    • Written by from New York

I got these to replace my beloved Apple Earbuds which I would love, until they'd stop working after 6 months or so. I know headphones don't last forever, but at twice the price of Apple Earbuds, I was hoping they'd at least last a year. Well, my first set lost hearing in the left earbud after 4 months. They were under warranty so I asked for a replacement (which they did not make easy since I bought it through Apple), but they did replace them about 2 months later. The new set lost hearing in one of the earphones after a mere 3 months. I'm done. I thought the sound quality was excellent but clearly an unreliable product. It's possible I just got two bad examples, but I'm not going to try again.

    Best workout headphones

    • Written by from Belleville

As a larger runner who sweats copiously, these are the only headphones that have stayed in my ears for more than 1 city block. Apple EarPods (iPhone 5) and In-Ear headphones have never stayed in my ears, even for just walking around the house. Medis PLUS's open air design helps you stay aware of your surroundings by letting in some ambient sound and if you get the cords caught on something, they pop out of your ear with no trauma. Not the most perfect sound production, but they're loud enough to rock out while you work out. Excellent value when cross-shopping with similar designs. Only major fault: no microphone.

I was ready to give up and have a custom pair of monitor type headphones made by a Audiologist. Every type and kind of headphone I've tried fell out during my gym workout. Finally, a design that works.

    Tinny, washed-out sound

    • Written by from Maplewood

I bought these because of all the positive reviews. I don't know what others compared these to, but they are possibly the worst-sounding in-ear phones I've ever owned. Worst of all is the exaggerated lower mids. They sound like an old-school landline phone. They also get uncomfortable after a while and are not noise-isolating whatsoever.

    great comfort and bad sound

    • Written by from Montreal

They stay in the ears even when moving quite actively.

They sound very bad. No sound isolation whatsoever.

I went by the previous comments to decide on purchasing these and was very disappointed at the lack of judgement about sound quality.

    Steep Price

    • Written by from Brampton

For an average 5 6 adult - my perfect fit is the XL for the ear click.
If you are around 6 ft - this might be too small for you.

    Design flaws:
The ear click is soft-sharp edged. Because the inner back of the ear is sensitive where you put it, it is quite painful. Perhaps they should've gone with a more smooth-rounded edge.

One time I accidentally wore the left earphone to my right vice versa and it felt comfortable. The inner front where the ear click is suppose to be is not sensitive to the edge.

    Moving (pro):
Stays in ear, I tested this while dancing with a lot of head movement.

    Moving (con):
It is very light-weight and always feels like it's not on your ear and gives that earphones are about to fall off sensation.

Sound: Some of us like the volume really high - but this does not have that capacity. The overall music starts to crack. Though if you just lower the volume a tidbit down, it's pretty good.

Price: Too steep for a flawed design. Perhaps $40 is more fair.

*Good if you wear glasses, move a lot.

    Incredibly uncomfortable

    • Written by from BALLWIN

These headsets are so uncomfortable - I tried them every way possible on a 4 hour cross-country flight. And as much as I wanted to listen to music - the most comfortable position I could find was still so painful on the ears that I could only go 20 minutes. I ended up throwing them away when I got home. I didn't want to give them away, because that would be like giving away a tool of torture....

Great for exercising, but break VERY easily...

    • Written by from Halifax

I bought these headphones mainly for bicycling around town so that I could hear my surroundings. They were great for that! The sound quality wasn't phenomenal but when I'm cruising on my bike I don't particularly care about that. The wind noise was quite loud but once again, not really a huge problem.

Where I have a BIG problem is that after only using these for a couple months the sound began to cut out intermittently. The problem is that where the cord connects to the device, the string type cord bends so much that it allows the internal wires to bend and break with very little wear and tear. I am very careful about bending the wires too, but when my iphone is in my pocket and I am biking around I can't help it sometimes that my iphone turns sideways in my pocket thus causing stress on the connection.

If it weren't for this I would have given these headphones 5 stars since they do exactly what they describe, but if they aren't going to last then what's the point? Too bad that these headphones have such a fatal flaw. 2 stars, one for each month that they worked.

    Good while they last

    • Written by from Marquette

I bought a set in March 2012, and three months later they lost sound in one channel, without being unduly stressed or dropped. Apple.com was kind enough to replace them, and now, two months later the second set failed in the same way. They must be poorly designed and/or manufactured, to fail so quickly.

    Don't work well after workout

    • Written by from Toronto

The sound quality of these earphones is average at best. Base is very basic and the range is limited. They do hook to my ears well and are don't slip off.

The big issue I have with these earphones is that without fail, after every workout I do, the remote control stops working. The volume controls either stop working completely or start messing up sound volume randomly. This lasts for half a day before they start working again. For earphones that are supposed to be designed for workouts, this is a big disappointment.

Having said that, I do use them as my primary earphones, despite this frustrating flaw.
