    Overheated while charging!!

    • Written by from VIRGINia BEACH

I bought this Mophie juice pack air for Iphone 4s, and it has worked well for almost a year. Suddenly after i unplugged it in the morning, the bottom part felt very hot, but cooled down after a few minutes. But then I was using my phone and after a minute or so; Again it got burning hot to hold. So i put it down and took my Iphone out.I tried and charged it without my phone in it. But it has not held charge after that overheating happened. I want an explanation, Please? Has anyone else experienced this? Should i ask for a free replacement/ If this is a recall issue, let me know.

    shiny waste of money

    • Written by from Lapeer

I got mine as a gift a while back, used it once, worked great, just went to use it a 2nd time, and now it takes a charge but won't put out. HUGE waste... very very disapointed... and now it's wayyy too late to do any sort of exchange or refund...

    Broke < 3 months

    • Written by from Cincinnati

My Juice Pack just broke after only three months. The pack charges, but will not pass that charge on to the iPhone (neither while plugged in nor while out and about). Fail.

    Great...while it lasts

    • Written by from tempe

Totally protects the phone, as it should for as much as it weighs. But here it is a few months later and although the Mophie says it's fully charged, when I use it to charge my iphone, the mophie charge depletes in a matter of seconds, doing nothing for the iphone. It's now dead weight and dead disappointing.

Great for charging, doesn't last long

    • Written by from Ellicott City

My son bought this for me from the Apple store and I loved it! It doubled the life of my battery, and I never once ran out of battery as long as I charged it each night. The problem is that I have only had it since June (5 months) and it will no longer charge. It acts like it doesn't even recognize the charger, so now that it's dead, I can not charge it anymore and have to throw it out. 5 months of extra battery is not worth the $100 he paid for it. I am very disappointed :(

    Best extended battery ever

    • Written by from San Jose

I really don't understand how people can give the Mophie of any model less than 5 stars. I have tried every type of extended battery and none worked. I have had all three of my extended Mophie packs, the largest capacity ones for over a year and while traveling in Spain this summer for three months I used them daily and charged them when I got home at night. My dad and my twin sister have one each and use it daily. None of us have experienced any issues whatsoever. The best part is that the battery does not drain at all until you use it. Best invention ever.

    Don't buy it

    • Written by from Norfolk

It worked great for about a month, then would no longer accept a charge. Because I took too long to call in the problem (got busy with back surgery) I had owned it too long for a replacement. Again, it worked great, then died. I'll not buy a Mophie product again, and am shocked Apple supports them.

    Terrible

    • Written by from Birmingham

Wish I could give it a zero. USB connection is horrible. First One lasted less than a week. AT&T store replaced. This one lasted 12 days.

    Complete waste of money.

Those other reviews mentioning how bad the USB connection is ..... Believe them. I didn't and paid the price.

    Best Case I've ever had

    • Written by from Winnipeg

This is by far the best case I have ever had. Sure, the otterboxes save your phone when you drop it, but otterboxes can't give you extra battery life. I've dropped this thing several times and its golden still. I've had this case for almost a year now and it's still working perfectly. Highly recommendable phone case

Disappointing capacity and annoying location of charging port

    • Written by from Greer

Nice looking case, but did not provide nearly as much extra life as I expected. MIGHT have gotten 50% more, but the charge took forever.

Also, the micro USB port is located on the SIDE of the unit, right where you would normally have your palm while you hold the phone. This is a major design flaw, and probably explains the numerous complaints of broken charging ports. The phone is annoying to use while charging due to this poorly-thought out design.

    great product but....

    • Written by from SPRING HILL

After at least 3 or 4 months the battery starts getting weaker, but this product is a good way to charge if your iPhone needs some extra power.

    Waste of money!

    • Written by from Sacramento

I've had 2 or 3 of these now. They're great in the beginning, but as many have pointed out after a few months they start to act funky (making strange noises like when one try to connect the charger). Plus the charge does not hold.

I do like the robust outer case for when I drop the phone, although apparently a drop at the correct angle will still smash the display.

I expect more from this product. Improve it. Fit it.

Limited Life - USB Charging Connection is the Worst!

    • Written by from Boulder

I am on my third Mophie Juice Pack for iPhone 4S. The units worked well for a few months, but I now have the exact same issue I had with the previous Mohpie. The USB port charger has to be perfectly placed now, at a 23.67 degree angle held by a rubber band. I know have two units at a total cost of over $200 with the same issue. I am looking for another option as the I can literally watch the iPhone's on-board charge drop when in use. Very disappointed this product, certainly making a connection a littel more robust for what is, after all, by definition, a mobile device. OK product for battery life, terrible for the life of the USB connector. I do not recommend it.

For all those people out there that have bought one of these, it is not made for protection, I just dropped my phone, and i had this case on it, and the screen cracked. I was very disappointed!!!!

    Be careful

    • Written by from Clifton Park

I am on my third morphie and when they work, they are great. Problem is with the mini plug and the connection . Be extremely careful plugging and unplugging the charging cable. Once you plug it in leave it alone . The battery life is great and with the newer 4s you really need it. My 4 didn't eat up the battery as fast as the 4s seems too. Keep your receipts and box just in case you have an issue!

    Finally the Real Thing!

    • Written by from Charlotte

I purchased two of these cases from Amazon. The first was a counterfeit, the second was genuine but drastically different from the case design featured here despite being the "same" product. Finally, I contacted Mophie directly to figure out why the Apple store seemed to sell a completely different Juice Pack Air from what I saw even on Mophie's own site. The rep informed me that Apple has designed a Juice Pack (the one available here and in Apple retail stores) exclusive to their stores.

    Features like:
    -Slimmer and sleeker overall design
-OPEN top to allow easy access to power button and any headphones
-Bottom removable cap for easy dock access
-Top of Juice Pack Air is a Snap-In case that protects even when bottom cap is removed
-LED lights do not saty on contiuously while charging
-And overall MUCH better fit and finish

Are simply not available from any other retailer--including Mophie itself. Don't bother with the other retailers, but direct from Apple and get the ONLY Mophie Juice Pack Air designed by Apple for Apple. The difference is night and day.

Functionally, this unit does exactly what it claims. And it does it fast! I was at 11% when I purchased my Air at the Apple Store on my lunch hour. 20 minutes later, I was already at 35%.
