    Great Company and Product

    Just wanted to give a shout-out to Withings and your fantastic company: after nearly two years of daily use I was having some trouble with the power port on my Smart Baby Monitor. Customer service was prompt and very easy to deal with - and I will be receiving a new monitor under warranty. Thank you, I'm so happy to continue to use this wonderful device!!

    Much better than expected and other brands I tested

    Ever since I found my wife was pregnant, I started to look for a baby monitor I could also use with my iOS device and one of my first choices was the Withings Smart Baby Monitor.

    All the bad reviews made me look else where and I started to test other brands, Motorola, Summer Infant, Dropcam, etc.

    I quickly eliminated all brands and my only choice left was the Dropcam Pro which is great, but it doesn't have the temperature and humidity sensors, or the comfort lights or the ability to play music.

    Finally, when all other options disappointed me, I dared to test the Withings Smart Baby Monitor and ordered one through Amazon. As soon as it arrived, I opened it, set it in minuted and loved it from the moment it powered on. No other baby monitored provided the video and sound quality this one did.

    What would I change and why the 4 stars? the mounting option is very limited, but so are all the others. Also, the micro-usb power connection is prompt to fail if you are not careful, it happens on many devices with these power connection.

    Do not read all other feedback, try it for yourself and create your own opinion, I (knocking on wood) haven't experienced all the issues everyone complain about, then again, I work in IT and I know how technology works.

    The connection drops and does not connect again.Stay away from this product

    The connection to the device is lost frequently. So far so good, but the problem is that there comes a time and it does not reconnect. I can not understand how a product designed to monitor your baby may have a fault that so great? I am software developer and I understand that it would be simple to solve what leads me to believe that the company is unreliable.

    Never stays connected more than 24 hours

    Monitor is great when it is connected! But that's rare. I love that I know the temp in baby's room, etc, but it randomly loses connection and I have to go into the room to turn off & back on, sometimes 10 times before it reconnects. I got this for free, from a friend, now I know why!

    Never had a problem! Install simple and easy, have had it for two years works great every night.
    Would recommend to everyone. Worth the extra coin to have.

    2. Mounted by a magnet that can easily be knocked off
    3. Wireless signal often resets leaving you with no video feed during the down period.

    Neat concept but I can't recommend this product.

    Is the best baby monitor i have used. Works at all times, have never failed so far.
    Use it on wifi network, and is very stable. The only thing missing is PC or Mac support...

    Best way to say "we love you" to our child

    As a father of a 10 month old boy I want to transmit just one thought to the Withings Team:
    Using this gadget for almost a year now gave us the opportunity to make our little boy feel safe that someone is always near him when we wakes in the dark without needing to cry out loud for someone to hear his needs.

    This babyphone rocks. I am sure that problems listed by other people below are just lack of knowledge in having this gadget well configurated.
    The 2 - 5 seconds delay is something very normal for split video in a home networking. Industrial equipments are 100% live and costs also 100 times more.

    Best baby monitor, if you can afford it.

    My wife and I went through three different baby monitosr for our 4 months old daughter. The first one was made by Motorola wireless baby monitor (forgot the model), was ok for sound monitor and the picture was below average. After a couple of weeks we sent it back to Amazon. The Summer infant baby touch digital video monitor was next. It has the best reviews on Amazon and the internet. The camera was great. You get true PTZ. However, the potable resolution is again....average. Terrible resolution and the screen keep going off after a couple of minutes. It does this to save the battery power, which of course is poor. The battery life, if you keep pressing the monitor button the keep the monitor from going to sleep is only a couple of hours at best. We decided to try the Withings smart bay monitor. So far so good. Love the lullabys and the night light that we can control remotely. Better than average screen resolution and if you have iPhone 5 and above or any of the iPad with retina display it video will look much better. Battery life, well it's idevice so keep it charge. Not a true PTZ. Just like any idevice, pinch finger to zoom out, apart to zoom in and move the picture to move it side to side. It come with feature like alert that we can set for differents parameter. Connection is awesome, we can see our daughter just about any where. I keep an eye on her from work when my mother in law put her in her crib. Connection with WiFi, LTE, 3G, or Bluetooth. The unit is portable so when we take the Withings smart baby monitor to my parents in laws house we can set the monitor and use Bluetooth as the connection. We love this baby monitor. Con, the rechargeable internal battery is weak. When it's unplugged only last about an hour. So keep the monitor plug in.

    Disappointed :-(

    We loved this bb monitor until the problems starts to show Up very shortly... The Connectivity was random, Is not safe: two times the device fell into the crib, fortunately with nothing to regret, finally the USB conector broke up without ever having beaten or mistreated and now is useless...Is not a reliable product to be sold by apple.

    Mixed positives and negatives

    We have used this monitor for 2 months, having used an Angel and Motorola monitor previously. The initial set up was very easy. The picture is clear and it does work very well from anywhere in the world if you have 3G or wifi- excellent.
    However.....We have had big problems with maintaining connectivity. In the home there is wifi connectivity throughout the house but the signal cuts every 5-10 minutes. The wifi works for everything else(including streaming movies or itv player). .
    It is such a frustration considering we spent such a huge amount of money on the apple product, expecting a reliable product. It is hugely unreliable.
    I would recommend this product if you have a smallish home so the Bluetooth can work, or use the a cellular network for back up. If you are replying on wifi entirely you may be disappointed.

    Almost There...

    Three stars because they are ALMOST THERE:

    (1) Need PC/OSX support. And I read Android support is terrible.
    (2) Reinforce the flimsy mini-USB connector on camera.
    (3) Crib mount needs to tilt and be wall mountable.
    (4) Access Administration (set up accounts, restrict access based on user/date/time, view who is monitoring, viewer history, reset password).
    (5) Enhance ability to reconnect if Camera or App loses connectivity.
    (6) Upload at least one of my own songs, give me a bigger list to select from, or sell me songs to stream (to address DRM issues).

    By the way, I read lots of complaints about the broken temperature threshold. Try using Celsius scale since Withings is European.

    Disappointing!

    I had been using this monitor for about 6 months with only minor problems of connection issues. Withings then issued a couple of updates to the software which made the monitor unusable. None of the settings for motion, temperature or sound would remain set after leaving the app, so basically it was useless. I contacted Withings numerous times about these issues over the last two months with no action on their part. I requested a refund which they did promptly reply to with a negative response and no explanation. When a piece of equipment relies solely on the accompanying software the updates should be tested thoroughly and if and when they render the equipment unusable a new and functional software update should be made in a timely manner not over two months and still waiting. I would stay far away from this company and this product, Withings has prioritized other things and this monitor and software is not one of them.

    Does NOT have pan/tilt/zoom

    When they say pan/tilt/zoom, they mean when you zoom in on your phone/ipad, you can then move the image around to see the exact same thing you can see when you're not zoomed in. In other words, you can zoom into the IMAGE, but the image itself is always the same. The camera does NOT zoom, it does NOT pan, and it most certainly does NOT tilt.

    I can't believe they are even attempting to say the camera can tilt, since that has no meaning outside of physical movement, and the camera on this device does not physically move. It's false advertising and a purposeful attempt to deceive the consumer.

    Plus, the only thing that actually works correctly is the video coming through. The bluetooth connection required to change the settings goes down after a minute or two, and my temperature alert settings keep reseting to 147-165 degrees fahrenheit, so that alert will constantly go off if you have it on.

    Very poor. You can get the same thing for much much less with more established video monitoring brands (check Amazon for good ones), and they will still work with your iphone/ipad.

    Does what I want, love it

    I have had this unit since May and have waited these 5 months for review....Easy set up process. I do not, nor did I want this unit as something to stay on ALL the time on the app on my phone, I wanted to be able to check in on my pets while away from home to see if they are ok. I click into the app, see they are ok, can hear the surroundings and talk back to them if I want, night vision is very acceptable. then I close the app out. It stays connected just fine to my netgear router, Have not had trouble accessing it on my home network, another network, or through cellular service. I have very good broadband internet speed so I believe that helps. I think if you're broadband is slow that is where people are encountering problems with connections, just like if you try to watch streaming video on your tv and just don't have the proper speed. So I have been very pleased with this unit for what I need it for.

    Very Poor Product for the Price

    We have an apple base station for our wireless in a small apartment and the monitor will not stay connected. Constantly cuts in and out and sometimes does not reconnect. Even when connected via bluetooth to either of our iphones it will randomly disconnect.

    Very frustrating piece of equipment.

    Useless if usb connector fails

    WithBaby's magnet mount is weak and unsafe.
    Micro USB Power connector loosened from the motherboard.
    With Baby does NOT charge, therefore It can not be used!
    There is absolutely NO way to connect to the camera, as it must stayed connected to power at all times through it's rear micro usb.
    Terrible design left me with no camera at all!
    I had contacted Withings with no answer.
    I need an answer and a replacement asap.

    We love this thing!

    I've used other monitors and nothing compares. We had trouble setting it up in the beginning and had to wait a couple of weeks for a software update (our baby wasn't born yet so it was fine). Customer service was great and it has worked perfectly ever since.
