I bought a bluetooth speaker for $100 but the sound was mediocre at best so I decided to get a more expensive one. After reading countless reviews I came to the conclusion that the Big JAMBOX had the best sound, even better than the BOSE Soundlink. After using the JAMBOX for a month I've realized that my investment in good sound was worth every penny. The sound is crisp, strong, distortion-free and all-around great.

    Sound fills the house

Nice product, clean lines. The Bluetooth range is impressive, and like with any speaker, placement is key for optimal sound quality. The Big Jambox offers good sound with an impressive bottom end. There are grippy rubber feet on the unit to keep it from walking across the table at max volume. That's a nice feature, as the device is pretty light.

Set up was a snap. I can not comment on the battery, as it remains plugged into the wall for my application. I also leave it on at all times, and there is no annoying white noise or buzzing while it is not receiving a signal and I keep it at full volume. Response is immediate, and it does not clip between tracks.

A remote would be a nice addition as I tend to pump up the volume for certain songs, and when the phone rings, I find myself fumbling with the iPad, and that's not the best solution. I played with the speakerphone a bit, but choose not to use that feature. I have other products with sound settings similar to Live Audio. Nice gimick, I don't use those features as they require selective inputs, or you get garbage out.

Four stars because I just don't give five. I would recommend this product to a friend. I think the price is about $50 higher than necessary, but it's in line with similar products.

Quality Product, Has Potential, But not yet there.

High Quality. Bought this over the Bose Soundlink. The major selling point for me was the battery life. Still have its shortcomings that can be improved.

My suggestions to really enjoy the product:
    1. Set the right personal expectation on performance. Though for it’s size, it puts out amazing sound, don’t expect this speaker to match a high end hi-fi system or you’ll be disappointed.
    2. Use a good input source. It is said – garbage in, garbage out. Expect the speakers to pump out rich sounds but don’t expect it to compensate for low quality input.
    3. Voices and vocals are very clear. But this drowns out the bass. On songs with a lot of bass, use your ipod’s EQ settings. I had to use treble reduction (not bass boost!) on some of my 'bass-heavy' songs. I wish I could even reduce the treble one more notch… sample of songs I’m talking about: Apologize from One Republic, Coming Home from P. Diddy; However, songs from Adele, Michael Buble, Savage garden sound great.

How the Big Jambox can improve: Create a better built-in music profile that can be downloaded. Bose’s ‘warm’ sound is my standard of excellence. The Big Jambox seems to have the hardware capable of making better sound but is not yet there. This for me could fulfill the product promise of ‘it gets better with time’.
