    Build quality issues

From the launch of the small jambox, I have not spent a working day without it.
Unfortunately to say it is not the same for the Big Jambox, less than a year later the rubber on the passive subs have disintegrated.
The speakers are made of the same thickness material, not long till its rendered useless.

    Rather disappointed.

    No Silent Mode

The hardware is solid. Good sound in a small footprint.

Unfortunately, the product is unusable in many scenarios. Specifically, there is no way to disable the startup, shutdown, pairing, and un-pairing notification sounds on the Big Jambox. These loud tones are played any time the device powers up, powers down, or comes within range (or goes out of range) from one of its paired Bluetooth hosts. There is no way to disable these sounds, unlike on its smaller counterpart, the regular Jambox.

What's worse is that these notification sounds do not obey the current volume setting. So, even if the volume is set to low, these sounds play at full volume.

As a result, this device makes loud noises all the time. So, for example, if you ever thought of leaving this plugged in and using this as a speaker in a baby room, or in another part of your house, forget it. It will play the unpairing sound any time your iPhone or iPad goes out of range. And play the pairing sound the next time you are back in range.
