Works well but minor improvements needed

The Magic Trackpad does everything it is supposed to do and contrary to some reviews it works well for me. I find it very helpful when I am "number crunching". There is one small improvement that would dramatically improve its usefulness. In the upper right corner of the numpad is a "key" that turns the number pad mode off. This key should be a toggle to turn the numpad mode off or on. Having to go to the menu bar to switch in ON is a definite pain.

Need to switch on tap to click

I just received this and was initially quite disappointed as it seemed too insensitive, I couldn't reliably click on the number pad and get the desired response and felt that I really had to hammer the track pad to get it to work properly. I just went in to track pad preferences and set it to 'tap to click' and it now works beautifully.

i aslo found clicking on the screen somewhere to activate the keypad was a bad mistake.. but then i went to the website.. and there it was documented...
    F6 will activate the keypad....
so far everything is working fine... oh.. their default 'delete' deletes the number in front of the cursor.. bizarre.. but it can be re-programmed.
i hope i dont have to re-install my os like the other guy...

Works as described; they must be doing something wrong.

The numpad works exactly as described.

I think that perhaps people who are having trouble with it, either didn't expect it to feel like the trackpad (it does NOT feel like the keyboard), or they didn't make the change in the trackpad control panel that the software said to make. Or perhaps they are touching the trackpad instead of clicking it.

In any case, it works exactly as described.

    Nitpicks:
    1. The sticker is hard to read under some lighting conditions. it would be nice if the symbols were black on white, instead of transparent on white.
    2. Many people might not like the tactile feedback- you must click (not tap) the trackpad with your finger on the key. But the feel is the trackpad feel. It might be nice if this were implemented as a membrane or chiclet keyboard on top of the trackpad.

I really like the Magic Numpad, the calculator mode is really usefull for me, I use it all the time and it works very well.
I can switch from trackpad mode to numpad mode easily and I didn't have any problem to install it.

I find it easier to leave the app in numpad mode all the time. This will still allow you to enter numbers in programs and the calculator and you can still use the trackpad like a mouse without switching to trackpad mode. Try it out because switching between the two modes using the trackpad doesn't always work.
