    Not too bad

Set up was extremely simple... very easy on the iphone etc... however setting up to view on a PC required my husband's techy skills.
We have many wi-fi devices in our home and so when we first set the ibaby up in my daughters room there was quite a bit of static and interference. We wound up having to run a very long network cable. (it comes with one, but it wasn't long enough)
Now the static is gone and everything is working fine.
We were disappointed that you have to purchase speakers to use the talk to baby feature as the camera unit is only equipped with a microphone.
As for the app... Ibaby Monitor BM app, Is very easy to use, the alert function is very sensitive but it's easy to turn off.

Video is clear, night vision is clear... camera moves from side to side and up & down very quietly. There's no zoom feature on the camera... but you can double click on the image to zoom in on your iphone.

Overall, we like it... just a pain running the wire and the fact that it needs speakers to allow you to talk to baby.

Worth the money... And the minor headaches

I've had the baby monitor for a year and we live it. As long as it doesn't lose connectivity to your network for remote access, it's use is seemless as soon as you leave the wireless range.

I probably have to reset it and set up the camera once a quarter.

At first we were confused when looking at the instructions thinking that it had to be wired in to a router. It does not. You do that one time to set it up, then it just remotely connects via wifi. Very easy to use and good picture quality and sound.

I would have returned it if I did not finally find the troubleshooting "more" files which is very hard to see under support guideline.

Anyway it is really very useful to know how to set up the WiFi and port forwarding with many different kinds of routers!

I would like to rate with 5 stars if your guys can simplify those settings!

    I'm loving it!

Read some bad reviews on it but decided to give it a try. So glad I did because when I'm at work I can log in and take a look at our baby anytime i want.

There are some drawbacks tho, the app for it is pink (sorry not a fan) and sometimes moving up and down can be an issue. (Not sure if thats because of the placement of the camera at home or what.)

For people having issues viewing the camera remotely (if you work on routers you should know this stuff!!!) set up port forwarding to the device on the port you assign it. Then you can easily use the app on the iphone or ipad or even the ibbdns.com account it sets up for you.

Quality is amazing and the sound is great as well.

The ultimate monitor for iPad, iPhone, iPod, not somuch for MacBook Pro

This thing is amazing on the iphone. Probably the ipad and ipod touch too, but I don't have those. It pushes sound, and live picture. You can control the camera and it's dead silent when it moves. The picture quality is amazing in normal light, a bit less so in the dark (night vision mode). Overall amazing technology in a nice unit. And WAY better than carrying an extra device around. I can see the baby from work and from home.

Connecting the device can be a bit intimidating for novices, but once you figure it out, it works great. Networks are logical devices and if they work for some, they work for all. Note: it will not work with the original Airport Express which has only one ethernet port. You need the newer Airport Express with two ethernet ports, or any other conventional wireless router (they usually have four ports plus the internet). I'm a bit knowledgeable of computers, but no expert by any means, and it was easy for me.

Finally, the only downside of this device is that they wrote the computer (non-IOS) software for this biased to Windows - it pushes sound through Internet Explorer but not through Firefox or Safari - big fail when you're calling your product an iProduct! I emailed their support department and they said they were working on it, but if Apple worked on it, (or worked them over) I'm sure they would make it to push sound thru firefox then we would have full functionality on our Macbooks.

Still, a picture is worth a thousand words, and on the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, there is no better baby monitor solution out there - I'm surprised it's not more popular!

    Excellent product

We researched baby monitors a lot and actually bought a Motorola and returned it when we got the iBaby. I am pretty good with tech stuff, esp. Apple and had a hard time with the port forwarding. Although the initial set up on home WiFi was easy. The easiest way to set up port forwarding is to email the company. The customer support response was same day and they gave me a detailed step-by-step guide with screenshot pics to get everything going. It then took only a few minutes. We can now view the monitor on 4G or WiFi anywhere. I would give it a 5 star if the directions that they emailed me were included with the product. Every once and a while the app will say the camera disconnected, which is resolved with restarting the app. This has only happened a couple of times in a month , and we leave the app open on the iPhone all night. We are very happy with iBaby so far.

Ok, yes it was a little challenging to get it working. (probably not something a novice would want to deal with) but if you have patience and can take the time to follow the directions in the very first review it is very worth it. Our baby is not even due until december, but we're using it as a security camera until then. I think we will end up buying another one

    working over 3G

i have been searching how to set up iBaby over 3G . I sent email for customer service to babylab.com and they didn't answer since i don't live outside the US it'll cost me if called them . So finally I called the store i bought it from and they helped me .
so here are the steps after setting the camera :

    on your iOS device
    1) iBaby --> setup --> set camera IP --> static IP --> on .
    2) note down the IP you'll need it for next step you'll found it on the same place .

    On your computer
    1) go to your browser and write your router IP to change the setting of ur router .
    2) after accessing you router go to
Advance setup --> NAT --> DMZ --> Host (here you enter the camera IP )--> save or submit .

thats the steps I hope its clear .

The video quality and night vision are absolutely stellar! We had an iSight monitor and thought that was good until we saw this. It's amazing! Now we would like to start using some of the more advanced features like viewing the monitor when we're away from the house and there is no instruction or support line available. Additionally, the manual is written for PC not Mac and we're an all Apple house. Tune up your level of support and you would get a 5 out of 5 from us.

I am not sure what other whiners were complaining about. With the recommendation from my friend who is an IT guy did some practice and comparison on the various web monitors,I tried one and it works in 7 minutes!
Maybe I am the lucky one as I did follow my friend's suggestion to use a good router with WPA setting.I'm loving to watch and listen my Garfield when I am on biz trip.

Why I can't submit the review on iPhone or iPad.Try again.
It's a surprise to successfully reset this camera with new AppS.Since I was planning to return this device before the customer service told me to wait a few days till the new version launched. It was very sad that the iBaby monitor could not recognize my Apple router but I was not worried as I still could use my SONY sound-sensor for my baby.
With the new version download to my phone,it works immediately!!
It is an amazing monitor! I am watching my baby in kitchen now no matter where he moves on the carpet!

Picture Quality Blurry (but discernible), Video Choppy But Audio is Perfect

You definitely know what's going on with baby and sitter. Would have been perfect if it could zoom and if port forwarding instructions (to access camera at work or on phone) were included. Need to call customer service (which is EXCELLENT) to figure out how to access from outside the wifi network the cameras were set up in - need to do port forwarding and change the port number of additional cameras.

The Ibaby cams are great, once you get them set up..the set up of the camera is not so bad. but the set up for remote viewing is very difficult if you do not know how to open up ports in your home router. The online support and setup says nothing about how to do that. I'm lucky to have a really smart IT person on my staff who set everything up. Now everything works remotely on 3g or remote wifi. That is the only complaint I have on the IBaby. I would recommend this product. I would encourage the designers to get better support information on the website.

Great product, but software needs work

    • Written by from Vancouver

I just picked this up last weekend and so far am pretty happy with it. My wife loves it too and we've been watching him at night.

I found the setup pretty straightforward and also had no problems getting the port fowarding to work. I can connect to the cam from the home network, from anywhere on the internet and even over 3G.

The image quality is great, the rotation angles are awesome and the audio quality is good, as well.

The one area where this product falls a bit short is the software. For one, there is only a PC client. While you can certainly connect to the camera via a browser on the Mac, it doesn't support audio.

The iPhone software is very unstable and just shuts down quite a lot. It's impossible to use it as an audio-only monitor - while it's technically supported, if you leave it running with the screen shut off and audio on, it just crashes after a while. Also, there is no dedicated iPad version and the whole app is in pink'ish tones. We have a boy and I'd rather see more neutral colors used.
Lastly, unless I'm missing something, the app doesn't seem to support the audio talkback function.

However, software shortcomings aside, this is a great product and we're happy with the purchase.
