    "still in its infancy"

Couple of problems: there is no way to silence (or allow vibrate on a device) the alerts when the baby is moving or making sound, and the notification chime is very loud and annoying. Not ideal when you are at work or in a meeting. I have had repeated difficulties connecting on a wifi when I am not at home, and have had to call tech support several times, although they are helpful - but it's not as simple or straight-forward as we would come to expect from electronic companies. Image quality is okay. Even with decent speakers, trying to "talk" using the speak function is delayed and cumbersome and the sound is not ideal. In addition, the monitor is of no use when your phone is not active - makes the basic baby monitors appear better. Overall, excellent idea - needs some serious tweaking. Would not buy yet.

When looking for baby monitors I loved the convenience of using my I phone / I pad as a receiver instead of caring around another device. The night vision is excellent and the camera easily rotates. Sound quality is good. Downside we have found that it drains the battery on your phone or I pad when running the ap. this in turn sets off the alert alarm.. Not something you want to hear when baby is sleeping. Another downside is making sure the ap is continually running when accessing other aps. This would be an excellent product if they could work on the ap not draining the battery.

As grandparents, we love being able to monitor our granddaughter who lives hundreds of miles away. But the program does strange things, like unexpectedly erupting into xylophone music and freezing up. Most lately, we are getting a banner message over the home screen that "iBaby is recording" yet we haven't asked it to record anything.

    Not working after iOS 6

I've had the iBaby for about 6 months and it has worked great. Since the iOS upgrade the app freezes the screen after just a few minutes of having the app running. It also frequently crashes. Hopefully this will be fixed with an update soon.

Really wanted it to be good, but I could never get it to be viewed on the Internet.
Worked ok as long as I was within range of my Wi-Fi.
In all fairness, it may have been that I could not get my AT&T router set up properly, but that is why I have Mac stuff, so that I don't have to be doing the things that PC folks have to do........, tinker with the darn thing.
I doubt that Mr Jobs would have approved this thing.

    Home use only!

So I am sending this back only because I was told it works 3G and Doesn't! If this is your Only monitor in the house only I can see works perfect in the home , clear as a tv screen with swip of a finger movement on the camera and the alerts do work while in sleep mode now. They have corrected that. But if you want to use it while outside or away from home to go out and spy on the sitter This will only work on an upgraded router that is way more a month like about $80 and you have to ask your provider if it is static ip capable before buying this for an out of home camera. But for in house only I say go for it. You will be thrilled! Clear as can be. But no temp in room just movement alarm and sound alarm.

    Room for Improvement

I bought three of these cameras in order to set up whole-house monitoring; I care for my 88-year old father and cannot always be with him every minute.

The setup of the cameras was relatively simple. However, I was shocked that only the barest of Macintosh support is included...a simple utility that scans the network looking for cameras and, when one is double-clicked, launches a web browser page from which one picks the browser one is using in order to log into the camera.

Other than that one little piece of software, everything on the included DVD is for Windows PCs.

The cameras do not zoom, but they do pan left/right/up/down, giving a wide range of view. The infrared works well, so even in a dark room there is clear vision.

The documentation is practically non-existent, and the web site is almost as useless. And the usage of English indicates that the documentation was not "made in America."

Overall, for the price point, the productization of this monitor needs lots of work...there is more to making a product than the engineering!
