This car is really cool, I love that all the lights work and it's pretty fast. The only problem I had is the gesture control, it seems to be glitchy and it's hard to precisely control it but that's just my opinion. Using the joystick interface is really easy.

I have experienced the same problem as "Expected more". It worked fine for 15-20 minutes and then quit and would not connect. Tried everything, even other iPhones/iPads. Nope, nothing, dead.

The best remote controlled car I've had, by far!

    I'll be blunt:

First impression was very difficult to control; only because it takes PRACTICE to get used to controlling the car using the iPhone accelerometer. But thankfully they thought of people like me & have a JOYSTICK option in the settings, which replaces the accelerometer control with the traditional two joysticks (one for drive / rev and the other for turning).

It's cute too; for example, you have a switch for headlights, hazards, even blinkers.

I got it 18 hours ago and I'm driving my Ferrari all over my office today driving everyone mad!

Agree with all the "Pros" listed.

    Re: some of the "Cons":

    - Plastic vs metal is lighter and collision friendly.
    - Fewer moving parts = less breakage. Swivel mirrors fold on impact.
    - Sound/feedback from device, not car, the best effect & minimizes energy drain.
    - No (approaching object) sensors & minor collisions are part of the fun of driving it!
    - Car battery gauge and warning to check the car after an impact is helpful.

Purchased this as a gift for an adult who flies RC helicopters. It was a huge hit... at first. But the car only lasted a few weeks before it was toast as speed control is dicey on an iPhone - the thing is really fast! As an earlier commenter suggested, a joystick controller may work better. But that takes all the fun out of using it with an iPhone which why I bought it in the first place, so I'm only giving it 2 stars. Needs better speed control.

I purchased this item due to receiving an 100$ Apple Gift Card for Christmas. There were no noise canceling bluetooth headphones, so I purchased a bluetooth remote controlled car instead. It was the only interesting item and remote controlled car in the store so I went along with it.

    Pros:

Realistic lights (Hazards, indicators, break lights, front lights).
    Horn.
    Fast (Approximately 7.5 MPH).
    Downloadable App.
Fast Shipping (Took less than a week for me).
Motion controlled or steered (By device).

    Cons:

The car's exterior is plastic and not metal.
Doors, the trunk and the engine door don't open.
    The mirrors seem easily broken.
Sound comes from mobile device and not the car.
Battery drain on car and device.
No sensor (followed by a break) to detect subsequent object approaching.
No color options (Only comes out in red).
Price. (79.95? Either reduce the price for update the product).

I'm pleased with the product, but it could of been so much better! I recommend it to anyone and recommend AN UPDATE!!!

Bought 2 of these on Black Friday. They were Christmas gifts so I gave them on Christmas. The one worked fine for 15 minutes and quit and would not connect. I connected the other and it would not even work at all. It just said to check the bluetooth setting and I would check and according to the touch they were connected. Well they were not. Called Apple and they send prepaid labels via email and I sent them back. Shame, they seem like they would be nice cars.

    Average remote control car...

I only got this becaue it was on sale. It is not worth the full price apple charges for it. I was also skeptical about the bluetooth experience given its potential for a short range, and my scepticisim was justified. The range is very minimal, good for indoor use and outdoors in a small area. You also need to go into the Bluetooth settings every time you want to play with this (but that may be the way apple handles Bluetooth). The UI is nice, but is not designed for the iPad, you need to go into 2x mode, which degrades the graphics.

Ok, so I have to say, even though I am considered an adult now, when I saw this remote control car on Apple's web store, it totally brought me back to my childhood. I had to have it. And when I got last week and tried it out, it was everything I hoped it would be, and everything it promised to be. I downloaded the free app from the App store on my iPhone 4, and was up and running in seconds. Ez to learn and have fun right away. It's worth the $80 bucks to turn the clock back 20 years to my childhood. I Highly recommend! Good product.

Works great, has working headlights, turn signals and break lights!! Goes pretty fast with great acceleration. Controlling it by using the motion on the iPhone is hard to control, good thing they give you the option to use touchscreen joysticks - that works way better!

I do think 80 dollars is a little overpriced( I got mine on black Friday) but after playing wi it... It's well worth it. If you invest some money in rechargable AA s it rocks. So interactive. I love the lights, the cats chase it too . Best toy ever!!!

Great idea. Truly interactive. Love the Ferrari dash board app, the sounds, lights, everything. Motion control is really fun to drive. Especially like the fact that I don't need any other attachments for my iPhone (like some of the other RC new to the market). The car itself is incredible quality. Amazing detail and authenticity of the Ferrari design. No problem getting everything set up and running. Highly recommend as a gift.
