    Aesthetics, Quality and Versatility

    • Written by from BERKELEY

A quality product. It looks great as it sounds.

I have been listening to music and radio through Beolit 12 for a year now and I must say that it sounds solid and superb for the size. Feel the powerful output of sound from this small lunchbox. I listen to classical music all the time and you can hear every sound of the instrument clearly and realistically. Every time I listen to music through the speaker it excites me and it never let me down. As a result, my other BOSE Music Monitor is now rarely turned on. I highly recommend it if you require a balance of versatility and high quality sound.

A negative side is that, as someone has mentioned already, the plastic cover in the back feels cheap. Also, putting power cable into the back panel can be a hassle on the go. Since it is an Airplay speaker, it can be quirky to use sometimes (blame Apple for that) but once it is set up correctly and connected to stable WiFi connection, it will rock.

    Better than B&W A7

    • Written by from Los Angeles

Well, I was in the market for a somewhat portable speaker system. I have several, but I travel between two houses, and wanted something that I could take on the plane as a carry-on. The B&W Zeppelin is great and I love the sound, but it is not practical for frequent travel. I went into an Apple store and tested out the B&W A7. The A7 is fantastic, but the airplay connectivity was an issue. The guys in the Apple store took about 20 minutes to connect the speaker. Also, the A7 was quite lacking when playing rock music. It sounded incredible with Jazz or Electronica, but some Rock was just flat. I wasn't ready to plunk down $800 without testing the B&O Beolit 12. I am so happy I did. I left and went to a B&O store nearby. They had all the B&O products hooked up to airplay, and I was immediately able to listen. I think the B&W A7 and B&O Beolit 12 sound about the same - Awesome. But B&O sounds better with Rock music - I was listening to the new Kings of Leon album. But, the extras contained with the B&O Beolit are what separate it from the A7. First, you can simply connect the speaker to a phone or ipad with a USB connection - which also charges your device. Second, the B&O is chargeable, so you can unplug it and take it outside. For sound at this level, that is a great feature. Third, the B&O Beolit weighs about have of the A7. The Sound blows away my portable Altec Lansing speaker, and my Beats Portable speaker. I don't care that much about Airplay, so the USB is good enough for me. The B&O is portable, charges, and sounds FANTASTIC. I just wish they had a remote.

I bought my Beolit 12 back 2 months ago, and i can honestly say it´s one of the best speakers in the house, and it´s really nice that you can use it anywhere in the house with Airplay, can´t wait to use it with an Ipad mini.

    Outstanding quality and Sound!!

    • Written by from Burke

I was finally able to purchase the Beolit 12 over the weekend and ever since my ears have been treated to deeply layered sounds. I have a very nice high end audio system in one room of the home but have been looking for something that I could carry with me throught the other parts of the house. B&O has done everything right in this product and I now have extremely high expectations for the rest of the Play line. Sound quality is abouselty astonishing considering the size of the product and easily rivals its only true competitor, the Zepplin Air. It surpasses the Zepplin in design and portability. Easy to setup and update through the iPhone/iPad app. I love people's reactions when they realize where the sound is coming from when they walk into a room with it in use. Treat yourself to something nice you deserve it...

This is the best speaker ever. I still love my bose, but this B&O speaker is amazing. Great size (roughly a 6pack) and beyond amazing sound quality and clarity.

    Nice Product

Great Product, The B&O store has it for 10% off, kind of pricey, but the design is very impressive. I am replacing the Geneva Sound Small, time to go wireless. I think B&O is going a great direction. After reading the S.Jobs biography I have a new respect for great design, simplicity and easy of use, this product meets all of those design elements.

"Not bad, not bad at all"

    • Written by from New York

Pound for pound, the B&O Beolit 12 is one of the best AirPlay-enabled speakers out there.

I recently sold my $35,000 Naim audio system, which was largely collecting dust in today's Apple-driven media environment. This little gem does a great job at replacing that system in a state-of-the-art audiophile-quality package.

In my opinion, the Beolit 12 is just as impressive as the iPad and the iPhone themselves. Hearing is believing.
