Scanning doesn't work with OS X Lion

    • Written by from Setauket

Out of the box, the printer was pretty straight-forward to set up. Hooked it up on my network no problem via the web interface using Safari. Image Capture couldn't open a session to the printer for scanning! HP Scan couldn't open a session either - timed out. Then I went on to my nice, clean Macbook Pro running the latest version of Lion and it too couldn't open session. Then I tried using my iMac 20 running Snow Leopard and it couldn't even see the printer via Bonjour!
I would not recommend this printer due to the fact that out of the box it failed to configure correctly under OS X Lion for scanning. For printing it worked just fine; I'm sure the copy feature works as well. But I really need the scanning portion to work. And it didn't. I shouldn't have to go surfing the web for fixes on a brand new printer. Buyer beware!

    Poor ink usage

    • Written by from Millbury

HP continues to disappoint me with their ink usage. The printer works fine however, no way does the ink cartridges last anywhere near their claims!!!! I use my IPAD 2 with the AirPrint and on occasion I can,t find the printer but it works well when it works. This is my last HP printer! I have 4 different models...the best was the T45 all in one.....

Cannot connect wirelessly to my MacBook Pro

    • Written by from Canandaigua

The printer works fine if I connect by USB, but I cannot get the wireless function to work on my home network. Setup keeps rejecting the network password. I have a new MacBook Pro retina display running OS X 10.8.4 and a one year old Time Machine, and yes, I followed all the directions exactly for setup.
