Though I liked them a lot...

    • Written by from Villa de Alvarez

I love how they look and I loved how they sounded, however I had the issue of after about 6 moths there was no sound coming from the left side.
I always took care of them and I treated them very carefully, and all of the sudden for no apparent reason ... no sound from one moment to the next.
I expected better quality for the price.

The clearist sounding in ear headphones

    • Written by from ORANGEVILLE

I currently own the Bose MIE2i but was never too impressed with the sound. They are good but not impressive. I started looking for something else that is in-ear also but better. I tried the Dr Dre ones and asked some of my friends who work in the recording industry and everyone said they are garbage and I agree. The C5 are simply awsome and when the music is on you can't hear anyrhing else around you. I was worried about the comfort issue but at least for me they are more comfortable than the Bose. Apple gives you 14 days to try them so I really suggest you do. Don't listen to others you can always return them if they don't work for you.

    Get these earphones!!!

    • Written by from Edmonton

What can I say... these will BLOW your mind!! I'm hearing things in the music I love like I've never heard before. I'm actually enjoying listening to my collection all over again! LIke it's NEW music. The sound is that good! I blast it way up and the sound is just rich, rich, rich. I think it rivals cans (headphones), for me the same sound as my Bose noise canceling headphones. It's much better than the Apple in-ear $80 earphones, and the loops hold in your ear!

So happy with these earphones I was literally going around the house with them plugged into my iPhone with my music library blasting.

The increased Bit-rate Albums available when you register your device are great too. Bit tricky because the songs end up being 170mb vs 10mb at the Apple 256kbs sample-rate. But you could pick a favorite song and keep a few. iTunes quality is nothing to sneeze at!

And I was schooled that it's know as B&W not Bowers & Wilkins by audiophiles--- of which I'm soon becoming!!!!

Wow! amazing sound, quality and great classy finish

    • Written by from Courtice

I am not one to write a review, However, these headphones deserve some recommendation. i tried monster Dr.Dre in ear and returned them (cheesy\cheap) tried Klipsch S4i and the controller was half way down the what seemed like a six foot cord. not practical to use iPhone controls especially when the cord is inside your zipped up jacket. Tried Bose Mie2i and the controls were great. Sound however was sad. no bass, harsh treble and the stay hear tips were brutal. Zero noise cancelling and have to crank them to hear which distorts sound. As for the C5's, wow!!!!! As soon as the box is open you notice great looking fit and finish and attention to detail. Cord is stiff and strong feeling. Ear inserts were tricky but once I figured it out they fit nice, secure and comfortably. The sound so far is amazing. Clear and perfect balance of low's, mid's and high's. Instruments really clear and the voice is great. the controls are up high and on the left ear. A little tricky and mostly rounded except for a little notch for the call/pause button. It will taking getting use to. I see people with gloves having a hard time and if youre driving to answer a call may take a few more seconds which could be good or bad depending on whose calling LOL.

Overall. good looking box and accessories including pouch. Fit and finish modern, contemporary and kinda industrial because you can see the wire (which i like) The sound is better than the ones i mentioned incase youre considering the above mentioned headphones. Cord is not long so for those tall ladies and gents take that into consideration. For the althetic types the ear inserts are really secure and normal jogging should not dislodge these at all. They feel more secure than other mentioned headphones.

    HORRIBLE product!!!

    • Written by from Dartmouth

The sound is good but the overall product is HORRIBLE!! I have had to ship mine 3x's so far back to have them 'fixed' or given another pair. The wires connecting the aux are faulty and keep on breaking. DO NOT BUY!!!!!! It'll cost a lot more shipping to have then 'fixed'

I rarely find earphones that fit my ears good and I wanted earphones that really were top notch.
    And these are just perfect!
The sound quality is just amazing, and the fit is great. They actually do keep in place, I had some doubts. These earphones are amazing and I recommend them to all!

Please Read if you have sensitive ears!

    • Written by from Westfield

Ok before i say anything else i want to say first that i am not some other company leaving a bad review i am an honest consumer and i thought that i could share with you how i feel about these headphones. i am by no means an audiophile just your average consumer. So first off i could not get these to fit into my ears no matter what i did. i switched out earbuds and tried different positions but nothing worked. i also ripped two of the earbuds in half because they are attached so tightly to the headphones and the earbuds are poorly constructed. Finally after i thought i got the best fit possible the pain in my ears was terrible it feels like someone is taking a pen and pushing it into your ear canal. Even more the sound quality is not that great because i have to keep them loose in my ears otherwise it feels like someone is trying to stab out my eardrums with a pen. My choice would be to go with the Bose Mie2i they are much more comfortable and have great bass. thanks for taking the time to read this.

Ok but not Great. Bose MIE2I better bet.

    • Written by from Annapolis

I had these earphone's for about a week as I waited for my warranty replacement's of my Bose mie2i's (upgraded from regular ie2's because of Siri)...

These get good reviews, for good reason. I guess like with all in-ear's, it comes down to if it fits comfortably. They could be the best sounding headphone's to ever bless your ear drums, but if they are uncomfortable or fall out constantly it doesn't really matter.

Probably to no fault of B&W's, they don't match the comfort ability of the Bose tips... I've had 6 in-ear surgeries on my left ear so I don't expect to fall into the Small, Med, Large sizing categories of mass produce goods...

But I do with Bose. The sound in the C5 is only a little better than in the Bose's and most of that is probably due to the noise isolation, whereas the Bose aren't. Which is actually a plus.. Walking around a city unable to hear the world around you isn't the best idea.

Also, the mic and controls is on the left ear-bud... That was weird and since I'm partially deaf in my left ear, that makes it's useless for me for phone calls.

The only reason I decided to try something else was because the Bose break on me annually. But, the warranty picks up the tab so, until Bose fixes the quality, I'll just be sending them back to get a new pair annually. No better in-ear headphones for the money.

    Sound First, Design Second

    • Written by from New York

You're probably? B&W SHOULD be considering sound before design. Agreed. That being said, the experience of the amazing sound (yes, amazing) is totally diminished by the absolutely garbage design of these earbuds. Let be clear, by design I mean functionality. They are beautiful. The build quality is stellar. Price... a little expensive, but not terrible. Sound Quality... way better than any of the Bose garbage, Ultimate Ears Quad Armature marketing junk. These sound absolutely huge. I might... MIGHT enjoy these better than my B&W floor standers if they weren't so obnoxiously uncomfortable. After switching to Comply TX-400 foam tips, the comfort and sound level improved dramatically. Also, with a little tinkering, you can get the fit to be tolerable and you eventually get "used" to the discomfort. If sound quality is your primary concern, buy these. If comfort is your primary concern, well, buy them any way and see if you can get them to work for your needs, from Apple you'll have 14 days to test. Nothing to lose. They're definitely not a 5... but a solid 3.5/4 due to the fit.

Not very impressed for the price.

    • Written by from Simi Valley

Great bass, decent treble, vocals were clear. But something in the sound was missing that just wasn't there. They also did not stay in my ears nearly as well as I thought and were very uncomfortable. Sound cancellation was pretty good. I think these headphones would only be good for planes and car rides with lack of movement. Also way to expensive for what they produce. Build quality was great, I didn't feel the worry for them breaking any time soon. Only had them for a few days until i returned them though.

3.5 stars to sound quality (because of price)
    4 stars to looks
    2 stars for comfort
    4.5 stars for build quality

Dynamic, rich sound in a tiny package

    • Written by from Atlanta

After reading the reviews of these earbuds, I was both excited and cautious about trying them out. Now that I've had them for about a month, my excitement hasn't ended and my caution is gone. Really impressive especially considering the cost. Many are commenting on the innovative, but quirky loop system. It takes awhile to get used to, but it works really well. It's nice to be able to adjust fit on the fly. The sound is solid B&W. Excellent combination of flat response with dynamic sound. You aren't going to get more out of pop music or rap with these bad boys, but jazz, orchestral, older r&b and some rock shine as if you're listening to over-the-ear phones.

Good sound but wouldn't stay in ears

    • Written by from Calgary

Had very high hopes for them but was very disappointed. Maybe I have deformed ears, but I spent way too much time trying to place/wedge/coax/glue/staple these things into my ears for a comfortable, lasting fit. It never really happened. For brief spells when they were in place, they sounded very good. But if I wanted to do anything more that lay in bed, they wouldn't work. The wires are very rigid/heavy and that was also annoying, even if they would have fit better.

Almost perfect! Still worth 5 stars with minor flaws.

    • Written by from ACWORTH

I bought the C5 from an Apple store after reading positive reviews. I am a classically trained musician/composer with very critical listening skills and am naturally very critical about sonic fidelity. B&W has always been a favorite brand due to its consistent quality and design philosophy-being true to the sound with min. coloration. The C5 lives up to the reputation. Clear, dynamic, with no excessive bass enhancement. My favorite lossless recordings are faithfully reproduced with spacious sound within iTunes. Great product for the price. Since I just got them, I couldn't say much about the durability at this point. Other very positive features are the Apple product integration: mic and iPod function controls work very well. The ear loop is a very innovative design that allows the earbuds to securely position with min. fuzz.

The only minor flaws: poor soft carrying case design and the cord is bit short.

Highly recommended for the pure sonic quality and innovative fitment.

    Poor quality

    • Written by from Washington

These look cool, but the sound quality isn't the greatest and I've already had to had them replaced because the wiring came loose resulting in jumpy sound quality. Plus the worst part...they've shocked my ear on multiple occasions (both the old pair and the replacement set). Looking for a new set set of headphones now.

    Wasted time and cash

    • Written by from Pleasant Grove

No apologies here. This is the most overpriced set of earbuds I have ever
purchased. The sound was good, but it ends there.
•With the adjustable loop the earbud comes away from inside my ear and allows ambient noise in.
•The wires are so stiff, they stick out and snag everything.
•The buttons are not easy to locate and use for phone calls. The only reference is the slight depression in the bar.
•The clamshell carry case is useless. I can find no logical way to use it. By the time you stuff everything in, you risk zipping up a wire.
•How can a company justify selling these for so much money. I was ashamed that I spent the money after I did. Even though the sound was good, for $179.00, they should knock my socks off like the P5 over the ear B&W's do.

Where do I go from here? I guess my $39. V-Moda from Costco will need to last a little longer. I just wish they were 3 button

    Not Worth $180

    • Written by from Kentwood

I bought these mostly due to the hype about BW. While the highs are ok, there is little to no bass and the lows are insufficient. Whether it's bass from a rap song or drums from a rock song, the headphones provide a very hollow sound. My beats outperform these headphones 3x over, and I was trying to get away from the whole Monster bandwagon...
