Reviews for Bowers & Wilkins C5 In-Ear Headphones

As soon as I removed these from the (rather complicated) packaging, I was highly impressed. Bass is clear and smooth, something you do not see with under $100 earphones. What is mostly incredible is the C5's ability to give you the clear bass without any distortion of other instruments, something very rare in under $200 dollar earphones. Bowers & Wilkins will not disappoint in audio quality.

I own the Beats by Dr. Dre Pro's over ear headphones, and to be honest, it is almost as if you took the same audio quality from the large over ear headphones and put them in these little earphones. The only difference being that the Beats are much louder and are better at keeping noise out, but that is obviously an advantage of them being over ear. The Secure Loop technology is fantastic. I have heard reviews on other websites of people complaining they are uncomfortable, and I can tell that that is absolutely not the case for me. Maybe they are making the loop too big for their ear? Anyways, these are great for someone who runs, or just bops their head up and down. Thanks to the Secure Loop, they will not fall out.

My only real complaint is the pouch they come with. I can't for the life of me figure out how to put them in the pouch properly. I realize I am meant to put the actual buds in the holes of the pouch, but when you wrap wire around, it bends the secure loop, making it difficult to return it to a normal state. Hopefully I can try and figure something out. I also think they are probably overpriced, but that is with every quality audio product on the market. So I can't really complain about that when the same can be said about nearly every other product available.

As you already read my klipse ear phone review,this is much the same,l am so so disappointed that l have to returns these back just after a few days, awesome sound but the minute l walk around the silicone ear bud needs adjusting over and over .l need help in finding the right. Have had them for 3 days now; they are open, airy, pretty neutral and really reveal quality recordings so if you try them in the Apple store or elsewhere use artists who care about the quality of their recordings..Chris Isaak, John Mayer or Mark Knopfler..also try Beethoven's 5th. The cable keeps them snug in your ear and they won't move if you jog or jump around. Found them to be more detailed and precise than the Sennheisers I had, but they cost $70 more but are worth it.

This pair of in-ear headphones replaced two products for me. They replaced my regular work-out phones due to their design (they just don't fall out of my ears), and they replaced my Bose IE's - they actually sound better than the Bose ones I had!

Here's a product that blows away the sound of the Bose ones I owned with the added benefit of staying in my ears for running, biking, and working out at the gym. Not only do they stay in, but they stay in comfortably! I can't imagine a better combination of features!

I just gave my Bose IE's to my 14 year old. He's happy, and I'm beyond thrilled!!!

I used these carefully with the case provided,
but the black paint chips off after a couple days of use.
It chips and scratches so easily and exposes its silver metal inside.

I have 2 other friends who bought them, and same chips after a couple days of use.
How can these expensive earphones be so easily chipped???? I thought it was supposed to be Tungsten, which should be stronger than Titanium..

I was so excited to try these headphones. However, I was never able to get the headphones to stay in my ears for more than 3 minutes. The loop is an innovative idea that's very hard to use.

I just got mine today. I was very excited to see what I may be missing with some premium headphones so I rushed out to get these. I must not be the audiophile that I thought I was. Admittedly I have only used the stock headphones that have come with my iPods and iPhones. I really can't hear a difference. The silicone cones that these and much cheaper headphones come with do block out all outside noise (passive noise cancellation, but so do my 1.99 silicone ear plugs that I use when it's too noisy to sleep. The sound quality is a bit flat and seems to be missing some base, which I was hoping for. Mine are going back. They certainly aren't 179.00 better than the ones I already paid for when I bought my iPhone at full retail. Other minor complaints - Made in China. Really? I think that's not good for our country or for quality products. There seems to be no eco friendly efforts that went into the product or packaging. Maybe none of this matters to you but it definitely matters to me. The packaging could have been as elegant and impressive with 75% less of it and using recycled and recyclable materials, possibly allowing for a bit less of a sharp price point. The product itself could have been made of recycled material. If it is made of recycled material there wasn't much of an effort made to tout it. I've been listening to the C5's for 30 mins now and I'm already going back to my ear buds. I had such high hopes for this product but to me it's not worth more than 39.99.

This product meets most the caveats mentioned. Out of all the in-ear headphones I've owned, this is by far the best. Using the wire as adjustable in-ear loop is very innovative indeed. Unlike some other products where there are many different sizes in which you have to replace, this one is like "one-size fits all" design, and uses minimal parts. I love it!! And by having that "loop" the earphones will not go into your ears any further that would create pressure and potentially hurt your ears.

The sound quality is superb! There is no "excessive" bass/mid/treble. Some headphones just pwns the bass and bad treble, but this one gives a nice balance. Which is good when the user listens to just about every genre of music. Dubstep to Classical music, brings the "umph" to every genre of music to your ears.

I'm one of the people who believes in the break-in/burn-in headphones when first bought. So I will have to re-evaluate my initial conclusion later, but if this already sounds superb initially right out of the box, it'll only get better and better as time progresses. $200-ish well spent!

These earbuds are superb! I have tried multiple pairs of earbuds in this price range and other prices, both more and less expensive. Although a bit expensive at $190 a pair, they are well worth it and blow away the competition. They do take some getting used to as they are a bit of a different fit in the ear, however, I use mine for working out and they are very secure and sound AMAZING. I hear sounds from my songs that I never heard before, the fidelity, quality of music and balance across mids, lows, and highs is Awesome. By far the best in ear product I have ever experienced. Only thing that could make these better is if they had a white model to match my shiny white iphone 4!!!

I have some shure in ears they cost about the same as these C5 in ears, and I can tell you the shire ones are blown away. The C5's stay better in my ears and have way better sound across the whole range. They are just awesome !
