    Not for running

Bought these to replace my Bang & Olufsen ear set 3 during running. The seal in ear makes any cord movement echo into ears. Cord is too short causing loops to become loose. Not for running. Great headphones if not running. Sound is amazing, but not for running. Returned.

Small things that make your life better

How many headphones is out there? How hard it is to pick the one you like, will fit and sound great? Not many! Bowers & Wilkins blew my mind! I'm a person who's constantly on my phone, listening classical music and watching movies in airplanes, and these headphones made my day!
The people who have been in New York know how loud and noisy it is over there. How people talk with their phones in the middle of the streets I have no idea! With these headphones it feels like there is total silence around you! The quality of music is mind blowing!
I couldn't imagine that one can create headphones that fit for everybody and not killing your ears.
If you enjoy quality then get these buds and you won't regret!

At first I thought these were amazing, great sound and base. But after 2 weeks of normal use they started acting up. Itunes would automatically turn on even if I force quite the app, music that is paused starts playing a few mins later like if they had a mind of there own. Eventually the left bud completely gave out. I would expect more from a brand such as bowers and wilkins, especially after 2 weeks of use!

    Shock Hazard

    • Written by from Yonkers

I've had these headphones for about 8 months. Before getting to the negative, I have to say that the sound quality and noise cancellation capability of the B&W headphones are a cut above. I've owned Shures and Monster in-ear headphones previously and these are better. Now the bad part - over the past couple of months I've been getting shocked intermittently when I'm walking outside in the cold and when I make sudden movements either getting up from a desk, couch or generally moving around. The design flaw is most likely due to the ear pieces being made of metal and not being properly grounded.

Barring the free shock therapy, I would have given the headphones 5-stars.

    Flimsy, doesn't stay in ear

I bought them after my Beats by Dre died on me (for sports). I'm not a fan of an in-ear headphones and I wanted to be sweat proof as well.

First of all, these looked fragile and for the price you would expect it to be durable or at least take really good care of them. But let's be real I live in NYC - 1 point.

After figuring it out how to put them on (it comes with instructions) fumbling with it maybe 20 minutes or at least that's what it felt like, in the rain it came off. -1

Needless to say, I returned these headphones and I'm still searching for the 'one'

I just bought these today from the Apple Store. I know that Bowers & Wilkins make amazing home speakers but I didn't know what to expect with these. I unboxed them and then tried to use them but they wouldn't fit in my ears. It was extremely annoying and made me want to punch a hole in the wall. I expected that changing the rubber buds would help but it didn't. Not only that, but I was expecting a much more acoustic earphone from Bowers & Wilkins yet these had way too much bass and the treble was too loud. I love the look of them but can't think of any other positives.

    Disappointing Sound Quality

Having admired B&W speakers for years - and been a proud owner of the 801Fs - I was excited to replace my aging Bose earphones with the B&W C5s. To my unpleasant surprise they sounded tinny. I listen to classical and opera and the entire soundstage moved back 1000 feet. Strings sounded strident and the brass lacked punch. There was no bass to speak of. The Bose are far superior. Changing the ear tips is just about impossible. They will rip if you try. I'm sticking with the Bose - a far superior product. Too bad...and disappointing.

Not As Advertised! No Bass. Do Not Stay In Ear.

After reading so many positive reviews, I thought these were the perfect choice to support my inner audiophile. I excitedly opened the box (needlessly complicated) and plugged them right in to my iPhone. To my extreme disappointment, they sounded like Apple Headphones! Argh!

I thought these would be better than Bose MIE2I but NO! They sounded terrible. The left ear crackled at low volume and the much vaunted loop design did not stay in my ears. The huge "Made in China" tag said it all.

I am definitely returning these and going back to my MIT-Boffin Designed Bose Earphones.

    Poor sound quality

I bought these based on the reviews. After receiving them I am very surprised, and a bit angry about the high ratings.

The sound is not natural. The highs sound interesting, but are a lot more tinny or pingy than normal. The lows are basically not there. Very poor base.

I tried all the sizes of the ear buds, one size was not too uncomfortable, but in general, I can not make them feel good.

I would have kept them and put up with the discomfort if they would have had a realistic sound, but they do not.

I choose this headset because of the reviews and wanted something different than my husband (Bose). So we were both excited when we received it, loved the fit in the ear and the cool design. Then we listened to the two side by side and BY FAR the Bose had the better sound quality. Sent it back the next day and ordered the Bose MIE2i

Look. I am not a lier, I am not another company just leaving a bad review, I'm like any other person out there and I love music. Music is my life. Spending almost four hundred dollars a week on iTunes for apps and music is what I do haha and I wanted some good headphones to listen to all the music I have. I bought these December 30th 2011 and now it's in almost the second week of January and the right side of the headphone has completely stopped working. I am not going to lie. I am mad. I spent over 170 dollars on these. I usually just but skull cants but since everyone has said the beats are great and I have never heard of these in my life but a ladie at the apple store in Santa Ana, CA recommended these for me so I took it into consideration since she did have the beats and said they weren't great. But If you do like a good sound go for theses but for what I have went through and now having to return them, I will be researching more headphones.

Returned these headphones within 2 hours of purchasing them. Firstly, felt like an idiot trying to figure out how to use them; secondly, they were awkward & poor fitting when I did; thirdly, I can't speak for the sound quality as I was so frustrated at that stage I did't bother to even turn them on. Cool is one thing, but incredibily non-user friendly another.

I got this B&W to replace my Bose IE2 due to the cable falling apart and I must say the sound is not even close to Bose, not to mention the bass sounds like a $20 headseat. The only thing that I find better than Bose is the cable having a plastic cover, which will protect it more.
Will change them to a Bose and hope they will last me more than a year :)

Headphones Never Stayed In My Ears For More Than 3 Minutes

I was so excited to try these headphones. However, I was never able to get the headphones to stay in my ears for more than 3 minutes. The loop is an innovative idea that's very hard to use.

    Hi!
I own a lot of different types of cans...both in ear and not.

This is the worst I ever came across.

One- hard to play and fiddle with the ear loop for a proper fit.
Two- cables very stiff.. They snag everything on the way
Three- sound is thin.. *might be acceptable for classic & soft jazz
Four- isolation is good ..but too good for my use- i wanted to use them for talking on the phone.. But what i hear is my voice throught.plus..they gave me a headache and earache within a few minutes . Funny hight earcanal pressure that hurt...bad.

So ..the bose in-ear are way,way better for talking & bass induced music.

By the way i own the P5s ...wonderful..like in fantastic !
Only cans better are my Grado GS1000... but thats another story.

I had tried a few earphones, like Bose, Monster and Sennheiser. This earphone is EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE, and the sound does not worth this price. So guys, try it and think about do you really want it before you buy it.
