Very uncomfortable after long periods of time.

    • Written by from Sudbury

These headphones are of very nice quality and design. They sound great. Nothing negative to say about those. The only negative is the fact that they are very constricting. After a while, your ears will start to kill. Thats the only downside to these headphones.

One of the best for rock and metal

    • Written by

The Marshall major is one of the best headphone I have every used. In these years, I have been searching for a headphone for listening to metal, and I came into this. The middle frequency is what this headphone's good at. You can actually feel the guitar riffs rubbing your eardrum. It sounds so like a true guitar amplifier!! The performance on metal is astonishing. However if you are not a metal lover, you shouldn't buy this. This is ONLY FOR ROCK AND METAL.

    Marshall headphones.

Do try them first in the store. The sound is different to other similarly priced headphones. The base and the overall sound, on the Marshall's is for real. The base isnt enhanced. What is on the recording is what you get. Not a slushy, over produced base sound.
The overall sound is direct, clear, and delivers a lot of impact. Maybe could be a little shrill on some recordings top end. The drums really produce, a sharp realistic noise, as if they are drums, not just cardboard boxes. The vocals are fairly forward sounding, and good. The guitar sound is really great. I have played some blues, some classic rock and especially some early sixties. Here, the guitar break, is delivered by the Marshals with impact, and a lot of energy, which, previously has not been evident to that extent on my two other headphones. It has re-juventated playback on several of my early sixties songs.
The sound stage is particulary good, especially on a couple of live recordings I have, one of them by the Stones.
The Marshalls do take a few hours to really wear in.
They can feel tight wearing them for just on an hour. But that hasnt bothered me.
How they fare with hip hop, or rap I have no idea.
Ok, they dont have the warm feel good base sound of other earphones. But they do bring the music to you, in a previously, (for me) un-heard way. In short, what they deliver is impact and energy. But again,I would recommend trying before purchase.

    Love them but...

    • Written by from hamilton

I love the marshall headphones but when i bought them the jack on the headphones were loose that resulted in cutting out when at a bad angle. I think it was a production error because i had done nothing to them to make them cut out. Other than that great quality of sound a material wise.

    Better than Beats

    • Written by from dunn loring

So I had a pair of SOLO HD's before these and they where great for the first 4 or 5 months but eventually they started to fall apart. So I got a pair of these cus I had the marshall minor earbuds and they're pretty. These headphones are the best I have ever had and the most durable end of story.

    Rocking Cans!

    • Written by from Muntinlupa

I have a playlist that's 90% rock and I've been using the BOSE IE2 for 3 years before the Major came out. This by far is the best sounding for all types of rock music, clear mids and detailed highs and lows. You have to break it in for a day or two though, after that you'll be in rock heaven. The iconic Marshall design would turn heads as well. Enjoy!

    Poor Craftsmanship

    • Written by from Montreal

While listening to music is a pleasure with the Marshall Major, the design and materials are poor quality. I used the earphones everyday at work, seated in front of my computer, without doling out major abuse to them: both nameplates popped off, the plastic shattered in the left earphone, and the screws are falling out rendering the left side utterly unusable. I'm astonishingly disappointed in the quality of materials used to produce the earphones. They barely lasted a year of regular use. I dread to think what would have happened if I'd used them while commuting.

I look for occasions to wear these headphones

    • Written by from Barrie

I purchased these in the winter time, so the criticism of them making your ears warm is actually a plus for me. I'm a commuter who also does home recordings so I get alot of use out these headphones and I have to say the sound quality is amazing for both music and video's and even after wearing them for a few hours they are still very comfortable. They could probably get away with charging more for them so if you're debating picking these up I would definately recommend them. Great for casual listeners and semi-professional producers. As a bonus, you'll be blown away with how good they look as soon as they're out of the box.

Ordered these on 12/26 and they arrived on 29th. I am amazed by the sound quality of these headphones. You won't regret getting them.
Oh, I wear a 6. 3/4 to 6. 7/8 hat. Fit is comfortable and plenty flexibility--but not for really big heads.

    Great sound, has a catch...

    • Written by from Hilleroed

I received these headphones yesterday. The sound is the best I have ever heard in a pair of on-ears.. But, the control mic button is not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. It seems to work with all my other apple devices, but due to the exposed space of the headphone jack, the control button is not connected to the iPod...

    Lightweight and Crisp

    • Written by from Oakhurst

The Major FX has become my favorite pair of headphones. I use them with an iPhone as well as with DJing. They are much lighter than my Sennheisers and fit better than my Panasonics. The volume control and Phone capability make them great for all types of use. the sound is very clear and crisp, with no distortion at various volumes. A great buy... I am eying the White ones....

Don't have to worry about waking your neighbors anymore!

    • Written by from Ottawa

It happens often;... I'll come home late at night after my late night shift and all I would want to do is put my feet up with a glass of wine or scotch and listen to some of my favorite tracks before I head to bed. In the past I've gotten carried away with turning my speakers too loud and disturbing my neighbors and/or my roommate. With these Marshall Major headphones I get to enjoy my music more often, and with sound quality that I never thought was available in its price range.

    got to have these headphones

    • Written by from hoboken

I bought the inear version as I thought they were very cool looking! However I needed something more comfortable for long trips as I travel quite a bit. I must say the sound qulity here is better then any headphone I have bought, especially considering the price! And to boot the cool Marshall script and detailing on the outside of the headphone is very cool!
