    YurBuds-Yur Not Worth It

    • Written by from Nashville

I have now been through three pairs of these in less than four months. I have used each pair on a different devise and it is the same, the volume and song control device goes out after less than 30 days. Either the volume sticks and cant be changed or the song will randomly stop and start again. I dont workout outside, have never got them wet and have even tried to wipe the sweat off during the workout, the result is the same. They are good for about three weeks then its the same tune. I wont bother with this brand again.

    Overrated.

Have gone through three pairs of these. Every one has malfunctioned. Yurbuds used to send you a new pair, now you have to send in headphones and wait for the replacement. A company that has a motto of 'by athletes for athletes.' Contradicts having to workout with no headphones for a week. Most recent pair would cut in and out on the first use. Button control failed to work in less than a month. The malfunctions are just as distracting as headphones falling out, which they do. When cycling, the wind is substantially louder in the ear with the headphone, they are not wind friendly.

These earphones are great for running and working out. They stay securely inside my ear and do not fall out. The mic and inline remote controls work extremely well and people can hear my voice clearly during calls. You must, however, be careful to put the yurbuds inside your ear using the correct way. The twist lock technology is what really gives it the secure fit.

    Pros and Cons

The fit was good. As was written by another reviewer, if you aren't focused on something else you may start to feel irritation after wearing them fro a while. In response to people complaining about the sizes offered, the company does have additional sizes available for no extra charge if you contact them (instructions for process are included in the box). My favorite part is that they really do stay put once they are put in. My least favorite part is that I experience a lot of wind noise with the slightest breeze.

OK sound. Stay in ear. BUT....

I've had these for about a year. They do sound OK (about the same as the Apple earbuds). And they do stay in your ear very securely (unlike the Apple ones).
Unfortunately, the red rubber attachments that secure the earbuds in your ear will work their way loose and fall off easily after some use.
Finally gave up on them after the 3th round of replacement red rubber earpiece attachments got lost. After a while, if you work out, the aforementioned rubber pieces become slick with sweat, slip off and and eventually disappear. The first time it happened, the company sent me another pair gratis. The next time, I had to pay $14 for a new pair. After the next time, I gave up. Would not recommend.

I saw these at a running convention and tried them out but decided not to buy them. Later that week I found myself running with normal headphones and they kept falling out, so I decided to try these out. They turned out to be the best headphones for running

Durability Problems - last 3 months tops.

These do stay in your ear well (even when jumping rope), so I stuck with them, but I went thru 3 sets, as they all develop a "short" in the cable where the cable connects to the ipod plug. Very frustrating as they sound better than the standard ear buds but just are not durable enough under normal conditions.

    Works Well!

This headphones are great for a workout but that a no brainer. These are not audiophile headphones; when played really loudly the distortion is clear. Nevertheless these are the most durable headphones ever. I have washed them twice (i am very absent minded about where I place things) and they work just as well as they did out of the box. These are not for someone who wants clarity in their music for everyday commuting because when your not focused on something else they tend to hurt the inside of your ear. Five out of Five for this product because it does what it was designed to do.

    UNCOMFORTABLE

I purchased these to add to my collection of different headphones. The concept is great, however for my ears the fit was completely uncomfortable. I tried both the small and large size. After about 4 minutes, I could feel the stingy pain of the uncomfortable fit in my ear. Plus, i like my cord to go behind head and with the Y control piece, doesn't work well for my preferences.

    My Experience!!

I bought these sport earbuds and tried the smaller set out of the two which were still too big for my ears. I could still hear people and other background noise while playing the music. The rubber bud would would detach easily from the actual ear peice themselves upon removal of the ears, so I found myself cautious of taking them out to avoid loosing them. Well one of my rubber pieces fell off while taking it out of my coat and lost it on the tube(the subway). I have resorted to the biggest of the two sizes now that I have only 3 buds. They are now way to big for my ears and so the buds fall off a lot more now so having to to do the swap. The mic is way to low for anyone to hold a conversation so I have to hold it which defeats the purpose of hands free head set. Even with the clip, it was becoming a nuisance when the cord was caught on things which resorted to the cord being tugged and detach from my shirt. Using the clip to hoist the mic had the two cords that go from ear to ear very unstylish with the look of extra cord coming out the top of your shirt. In my overall experience the price point for these is way to high for the quality provided. How do we resolve these issues?

Love these, finally a pair of earphones that are made for working out. These earphone are not only comfortable but they don't fall out. Also if by any chance the size included in the box don't fit you can take a picture of your ear with a quarter next to it and they will send u a new size, how cool is that. They also have a lifetime warranty what more could you ask for.

These are great. The sound is fine (I'm not looking for my running earbuds to give me superpure sound) and the earpieces fit and do not move.

My one complaint is the remote/mic unit: it's huge (bounces noisily) and a bit finicky for volume and tune selection/control. They come with a little clip to help with the bouncing weight of the remote unit, but it's still a little big.

LOVE that I can have buds on my runs, though.

Don't buy them if you have small ears!

Uncomfortable! The sound is ok. I went from a pair of Apple earbud to the Bose MIE2i, which were stolen, to a pair of Jabras with the earfin (which I sweated into and shorted-out), to these. I just want my Bose back :( But I'm going to try the Sennheiser Adidas MX680i before I go back to buying Bose again... just because I seem to be going through a lot of earbuds and it's getting expensive. I don't want to risk shorting out the Bose and not have it covered under warranty.

Where the Bose were so comfortable, I forgot I was wearing them, these just caused me pain. They don't come with a smaller fitting, and that's my whole issue with them. I also find that the Y where the mic and the controls are located is too low on me. It hangs at my belly and I'm 5'3". That's just not practical for a phone call, as I have to hold the Y closer to my face for people to hear me. Kinda defeats the purpose of 'hands-free'.

Finally, I found a pair of ear buds that won't fall out, and still let me hear the environment around me (on low volumes). Great value, and if the buds don't fit, Yurbuds will make you a custom pair for free. The only 2 things I'm not happy with is the location of the remote (where the 2 ear bud wires join). I wish it was higher up on the left ear bud. The bass response could be better too. But I am satisfied with my purchase and they will be ideal when I bike to work.

A friend of mine highly recommended these "Yurbuds" to me. I'm glad I took their advice. These earphones are the most comfortable earphones I have ever used. Not only are they comfortable, but the sound is incredible. It ALMOST cancels sound, but you can still hear what is going on around you (which is a good thing). Glad I took a chance on these instead of wasting my money on Dr. Dre's beats.

They actually hold in place! i`ve been having problems finding decent earphones for the gym. I`ve passed a lot of pairs of other brands mainly because they aren`t sweat proof as they claim. Usually the mic is what stops working. ok enough about other brands... I`m impressed with these. Just bought them and they were really easy to put in... without all kinds of adjustments and tips. Happy to see they thought of making the mic sweat proof. Also...they`re fairly inexpensive

I use them when I go to workout at the gym. The fit snug in my ears and don't fall out. People don't know that I'm on a headset. I was surprised that the regular ones fit my ears. They also have an option to send a photo of your ear with a quarter to get free custom ear buds.

    Bad Mic, Worst Sound

    • Written by from Glen Morris

I bought these based on several reviews and the recommendation of the guy at Apple. I found however, that I couldn't talk to anyone through them as they claimed to hear every background noise out there. Add to it that the sound quality of the phones was like listening through a tin can. After just a short hr stent with them, my ears got sore as well. I wouldn't recommend them at all.
