Finally! Stay asleep while your spouse gets up!

My husband coaches rowing, and gets up at the ungodly hour of 4:30am three days a week. I keep more "normal" hours. :) He is a heavy sleeper and needs a combination of NPR and loud buzzer to wake, neither of which I can sleep through. He was skeptical that Lark would wake him, but Lark has overcome his formidable sleep powers! We've only had Lark a week, but now I can sleep through him getting up... a few extra hours of uninterrupted sleep is huge!

We haven't tried any of the sleep analysis, but just the alarm is worth it! Looking forward to software updates to allow you to set the alarm for different times on different days.

Great product, a vibrating-alarm and sleep coach in one

For someone like me who has strived for years to get more sleep, the last month with Lark has been wonderful. If you're like me and you just think to yourself "I gotta get more sleep," then what I've found is that nothing changes. An occasional sleep-in is nice but what I really want to have is someone at my side reminding me and giving me more clues about how I've been sleeping and what I can do little by little to improve.

When I started using the Lark vibrating alarm, I found the instant daily feedback (via the accompanying iPhone app) was great. Not only how many hours of sleep, but how quickly I went to sleep and how many times I "woke up", which I presume it measures using motion sensor in the device itself.

I like the product because it has some cool features:
    * a vibrating alarm that doesn't wake everyone up, just me. And an iPhone app to set alarms (similar to the native alarm feature of iOS)
    * a daily set of stats on my sleep: duration, how many times I tossed-turned, and even "how fast I got to sleep", and Overall sleep rating "good" "poor" etc.
    * a sleep-coach assessment that looks at patterns over a 7 day period with a very detailed and useful write-up at the end with helpful hints
    * a reminder (iPHone notiication) that it's time to go to sleep - sounds funny but this actually helps!

So overall I've been able to use the Lark in 3 ways: as a daily alarm clock, as a daily sleep data collector to keep monitoring how "well" I'm doing according to some personal goals, and as a sleep coach with more in-depth assessment data.
The only improvement I'd look for in the future is that some mornings the iPhone doesn't connect to the device to shut off the alarm -- and I need to dock the device and wait for bluetooth to connect before I can just switch the alarm off. Overall a superb product.

I no longer worry about sleeping thro my alarm

I am a surgeon and also significantly hard of hearing, My early arising always woke my wife, since I had to set it loud to even hear it.. And when she was out of town, due to frequent business travel, I slept poorly even with the clock radio turned way up, for fear of over sleeping. Those days are over, and I feel I am sleeping much better, since I am not stirring every half hour to look at the clock. I find it extremely reliable and compact so that it is easy to pack for travel. All other clocks for deaf and hard of hearing (bed shakers, light flashers, etc) seem totally barbaric in comparison. I'm very pleased!

Only alarm that can wake me up consistently!

I've struggled with alarms failing to wake me up for years. No matter how loud the audio alarm, I was always jolted awake enough to shut it off and fell back asleep. I bought the Lark without expecting much better results. I was VERY wrong. The USB port for charging is a big plus- keeps me from using too many outlets- and I had no connection issues at all. From the first night I used it, I could tell this was a keeper when I woke up with the alarm in the morning. It woke me gently and without startling me. And it did again the next day. And the next. And the next. 3 weeks in and I've woken up with it every single day I've used it! The wristband took a little bit of getting used to, but it's comfortable. All in all, a well thought out system that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

    LARK

My previous alarm clock was loud. Really loud. It woke up everyone in the house. Except me. When I heard about the LARK, I decided to give it a chance. It did not disappoint. I wake up on time. I don't wake anyone else up. My sleeping habits are becoming more normal. In short, the LARK performs as advertised. If you have any of the sleep related issues I mentioned, you should definitely consider buying a LARK.

Teaching an engineer how to sleep right

Prior to using Lark, I would never work to change it because I didn't HOW poorly I slept. Lark works for me as a wake-up mechanism! It is so nice not to sleep through twenty alarms and lie in bed exhausted for an hour after I wake up before I get out of bed. This has been a problem for me since I was a teenager.

Also, now I UNDERSTAND how poorly I'm sleeping because of the analytics. It really drove the point home when I could see the data in front of my eyes. I didn't fully understand how bad my sleep schedule was because I was just trying to stay awake as much as possible to work, and would end up often sleeping on a couch or in my room with the lights on.

The coaching is useful too because it gives me clear suggestions on how to adjust and improve instead of just telling me "Your sleeping is horrible." For the first time I'm actually excited about improving my sleeping habits.

Get out of the dark on your sleep stats

When I heard about Lark I knew immediately that I needed one. I rarely use the Un-Alarm clock - although it's certainly a useful feature. As someone in the early stages of diagnosis for sleep apnea, the Lark sleep sensor was a great way for me to get a handle on how much sleep I was actually getting and how often I wake up through the night. And as the parent of a toddler, it was really helpful to get a handle on how little sleep I was actually getting. Sleep is essential, and with the feedback that you get from the sleep sensor (if you're disciplined about using it) you can really challenge yourself to treat your body better and get more sleep.

I bought the lark simply for the silent alarm clock. I was interested in the technology but it wasn't by primary reason for purchasing the Lark. The Lark has proven to be a great tool for understanding how sleeps (or lack of) affects me when i am awake. Everything works as promised and the iphone app is intuitive and informative. Great product.

I had a problem with my LARK sensor (dog chewed it up), there were no similar problems on the FAQ's. I contacted tech support. They were helpful and very timely in their response. It's nice to know LARK backs up it's product with more than just talk. The alarm is intuitive to use and performed as advertised.

    I love this product.

Tired of always being woke up by my wife's snoozing habits, I got one of the Lark units for her to use. It works as stated and I now get that hour of sleep back everyday.

We haven't played around with the sleep data too much at this point but it seems interesting and could prove useful, I'm just pleased that mornings are quieter around the house and the grudge factor is gone. THANK YOU LARK!

My only gripe - they should make the software compatible with the older iPod Touch (Generation 2) so I don't have to buy another iPhone to start using the device for myself.

This device is simply amazing! i recommend it to anyone. The only trouble I had was the connection and getting started. All I did was google my problem and it gave me instructions right away. I love the lark alarm clock so much that I just want to sleep all day just to see how well I slept. Even waking up is great! The vibration on the wrist band wakes you up so you feel like you have woken your self up. This is a great buy!

Great Sleep monitoring for the overworked

Really happy so far with the purchase. I have very little time to sleep in general and at various times find that my "sleep debt" is immensely high. I have used a ton of sleep apps and none really seem to give real value. I started using Lark a few weeks ago and although it does not have every feature I want right now, it has been great in gauging the quality of sleep I am getting. In general my sleep has been pretty poor, but last night was the first night I actually slept "well" and I do feel much more rested today. I am going to make sure to track what I do with the sleep quality. The app probably still has a ways to go with the features, but it seems like the science is there and it's actually working.

    best alarm ever

I admit it. Without my hearing aids, I'm lost. Thus prior to the Lark, I had a siren with strobe light that also vibrated the bed. It would wake the dead and the deaf! Unfortunately, it would also wake my normal-of-hearing husband. I didn't realize how stressed we both were by waking this way until I decided to spring for the Lark. What!!! Waking up with a gentle tap on the wrist instead of being screamed at, strobed, and shaken??? How civilized is this? The addition of the sleep data is really quite nice since you get a good handle on your sleep patterns, but the main selling point is the absolutely delightful way to wake up with a gentle tap on the wrist. I'm now buying a second one for my husband's Christmas stocking. If you like having a buzzer or alarm go off next to your head, then by all means continue with the traditional alarm clock. If you prefer the idea of being gently tapped to wake, then run don't walk to buy this thing. If you are hard of hearing--don't EVEN think about it. Just get it.

So I've used this for over two years now. First of all that is really saying something - 2 years with the way products are made these days is pretty amazing. I originally bought it so I didn't wake my wife or my sleeping baby. Worked perfectly. I have used it since so I can wake up and it has yet to fail me. (over two years!)

An added bonus was the sleep monitoring - good sleep really does wonders for your attitude and productivity. This has really helped me to understand good sleep patterns and a lot about what affects mine.

Only downside is the size of the unit. I place it reversed so it is on the inside of my wrist and let it slide down my arm a little. Doesn't really bother me at all. I would highly recommend it even though I know some people would be bothered by it.

For me - if I had any notion they were going to stop selling it - I'd buy one and keep it in reserve until they come up with a smaller one.
