I have had some issues with the software apps. I use this with my gas smoker and it has really taken a lot of the attention time out of having to watch the old temp guage on side of smoker. I use 2 temp probes, one for food and one for smoker and it works out great

The iGrill works as advertised. App is easy to use and meat turns out just the way we want. No longer do I have to stay and watch the grill, I can finish food prep and not have to worry about over or under cooking steaks, chops or chicken.

When this contraption and app work everything is great. It's when it doesn't work that it really fails, which unfortunately is all too often.

My wife got me the iGrill a couple of years ago and I used it immediately. I had used another remote thermometer before but always had a problem keeping in range. But with the Bluetooth capability in the iGrill, I've never had that problem. I can do other things around the house or lay by the pool and still get updates on my roast.

We made the mistake of purchasing a new oven without first making sure that it included an automatic temperature probe. Trying to rectify this, I bought several different brands of probe thermometers, none of which helped when I was in my office or entertaining company while a roast was working in the oven. The iGrill sends temperature data and a ready alarm to the iPhone in my pocket, no matter where I am in the house. That really helps.

I have had it for a year now and love it! For smoking, you can't beat it. I love having the Kamado Joe grill/smoker going and being able to check the temperatures from inside my home (in the middle of the night, during winter no-less!)

Good for slow cooking, however if you want to sear a steak or cook past 400 degrees, this item is worthless. I use it on my Primos grill (ceramic "egg" grill) which cooks burgers and steaks better at around 450+.

Using an industry standard like bluetooth means appa will be available for a variety of platforms. The possibilities are endless. And the connections rock solid.

IF you are considering getting the iGrill ... DO NOT!!!

Got as a gift for Christmas, and the reviews we found said it has some issues with syncing or staying connected to Bluetooth. Well, I could only get my iPad to connect, then had to stay within 30 feet (forget what they tell you).

Then recently tried to get it to synch with my iPad - NO GO. Then tried again, now it just BEEPS and nothing happens. Went to the website, and ANYTHING outside of 90 days - you are screwed.

They also make a BIG Deal about this on their site, so this product obviously has A LOT of issues.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
