Granted I have only had the speakers for less than a week, but so far they are AMAZING!! I could tell a HUGE difference as soon as I turned on the speakers. The sound is still impressive, even if you are in a different room. I bought them to boost the sound of my iMac when listening to music or watching movies. These speakers def deliver in every regard. Great Product!

I just set these up and I am very impressed. My music taste varies from classical to alternative and everything in between...all genres sound excellent on these speakers. They look great and have a very solid feel. Construction is top notch as expected with Bose.
You will not be disappointed with these speakers.

I've listened to "pro" quality speakers (krk studio monitors, focal...etc) and these speakers sound just as amazing as anything out there. they have a feature that cuts back the power at max to avoid distortion and sounds a bit muted at max, but find that sweet spot to listen to these and trust me you will be amazed. They are easy to set up true plug and play with studio quality.

Well these speakers have been a well needed upgrade to my current 10+ year old JBL desktop speakers that came bundled with a 10+ year old Compaq PC. I didn’t want a 5.1 – 7.1 style sub-woofer setup because that’s simply way overkill for me and fortunately I stumbled across these bad boys. I am a gamer and play BF3 but also listen to lots of music and use my PC as the home stereo.

If you play Battlefield 3 and are using cheap speakers then you are definitely missing out. I actually feel the thumps from gameplay and an extra sixth sense has kicked in which has intensified the game and my all around skillset. Meaning they brought new life to my gaming experience. I mean I only play maybe 3 – 4 hours a week but it’s a day and night comparison. Maybe I’ve just been deprived of modern technology but these are the speakers to get; although I wasn’t anticipating on paying over $200 for speakers but this has been a well-deserved and appreciated splurge.

Pros: Really great Bass and all around sound, Looks sharp!, will rattle your bones.

Cons: I had to physically swap the Left and Right speakers on my Computer Desk because the Audio-In cable won’t reach my PC which is to the Left of me, if that makes sense?.. The Right Speaker is considered the ‘Main’ where you connect your audio cables and volume control to and the Left is the Extension with a fixed line out to the Right Speaker. No biggie but wish the Audio-In cable was longer. To remedy this I’ll buy a longer Audio-In cable eventually but no rush.

Perfect solution for a small room or apartment

Fantastic speakers! I have been looking for a solution to provide a speaker system for my apartment for some time. Having got excited about Airplay, I have been waiting for over a year for quality speaker manufacturers to come to the party. I have got tired of waiting! The Bose Companion 20s however provided me with a near perfect solution. These speakers sound great with fantastic clear high and mid ranges, but also excellent low frequency response. The sound is very clear and versatile for all music types. Rather than plugging mine into my Macbook Pro, I plugged them into the speaker out socket of my new Sony Bravia TV. The TV is hooked up to an Apple TV and Sony Playstation by HDMI cables. What this means is that not only can I play music wirelessly through the Apple TV from my laptop, but the speakers also work with all media content from the TV and Playstation. It also only means I can use the TV remote to control the volume from all source inputs. I highly recommend these speakers, especially for rooms where a 2.1 or 5.1 system and associated wires dominates the space. To top it off, they sound amazing!

I'm a college student and I was looking for some desk speakers whose sound could completely fill up an entire large room. I listen to a wide range of music and wanted speakers that could satisfy this. I decided to try out the Bose Companion 20's and despite my skepticism, they perform beautifully. I really like my bass and so I was worried the companion 20's would be lacking in this respect. Turns out that they have plenty enough bass to make me happy. Sure it isn't heart throbbing like you would get from a system with a subwoofer but it certainly is well balanced with the rest of the ranges. The sound quality of the system is amazing. Now I can actually tell which music files are high and low quality. I should mention that I am using these speakers with a MacBook Pro and the setup looks gorgeous. Everything matches perfectly and looks really clean. I would definitely recommend this product!

I was considering to get Companion 2 at first because of the price. After I went to Bose store I tried compare the sound of Companion 2 and 20. All I can say is that Companion 20 rules!! It has good amount of bass, clear sound. I'm just so glad I got it and use it everyday now.

I have an extensive digital music collection on my PC, so I wanted a quality upgrade to my old Sony's to listen to my music. At $260, these are certainly not cheap for PC speakers, but of course, you know the old adage, you get what you pay for. These little beauties produce sound at all ranges (even the lows) expertly, without the need for a separate sub-woofer. There is no distortion at higher volumes and no loss of fidelity at lower volumes.

I like the separate 'pod' which controls volume (there are no volumes/power controls on the actual speakers) and with a quick tap, mutes the speakers. You can also connect headphones via the pod or a separate audio source like an iPod.

I believe the Bose Companion 2 (which is their entry level PC speaker) run about $110. I say skip past those and go right to the Companion 20. You won't be disappointed.

I originally had logitech z-2300 speakers that broke so decided to venture and buy new speakers. I thought the logitech speakers sub woofer was way over active and kind of annoying. So I bought these, and I got to admit, they don't have a sub woofer but they pump out sounds EXTREMELY nice & clean. The base will surprise you and you will definitely hear it!! And it's not over active or late and sounds very very nice. The speakers handle loud volumes very clearly with no breakage of sound, at all.

HOWEVER, these do not include a sub woofer so if you are looking for 15" woofer sounds, these speakers aren't it. But I will definitely keep as a replacement for my THX z-2300 speakers because of the right amount of bass, treble and very clear mid-tones.
