    Great idea, terrible execution

Mophie has to go back to the drawing board with their design. The charger connection is useless after a couple of weeks. I've gone through two of the cases already & won't be buying a third.

    Don't drop it!

I was totally impressed by the extended battery life in something so elegant. In the first week I dropped it! I have the white model so it may be more prone to sliding out of one's hand or off the car seat but it protected my 4s perfectly. Only one problem - now it won't charge. Other's have noted that if you push the micro usb in a certain way it might work. Apparently not if it lands on that corner.

Mophie would not honor a warranty claim as it "is not a manufacturing defect". Well, don't by the juice pack if you are hoping that, while it may protect your phone, it is not durable enough to protect itself.

    One Dropped ended the love!

I used the Juice Pack (JP) as my travel "lifesaver" for the past 7 months. Up until this week it served every need as expected and more. I dropped my iPhone 4 for the first time on a trip this July 11'. The JP hit on the corner that the power cord gets inserted into, still leaving the phone in perfect condition...but the impact killed the the power port. Looking at the JP it still looks like it's in mint condition until you attempt to charge it and realize the port closed from impact and very careful attempts to pry it open failed. Though it no longer can be used as a charger, it certainly protects the phone.

    Doesn't Sync with iTunes

Using new iPhone 4s 64gb and it doesn't sync with iTunes when plugged in through the case like it says it does. Battery life isn't bad but for 80$ and advertised to work with 4s I am expecting it to work

    Port issue

I recently bought 5 of these cases for members in my family. For about a 2 weeks the cases were amazing now they won't charge at all. It's definitely a port issue but buying this product was definitely a waste of my money. It would be great if they could fix this port issue but idk if I'd be willing to buy this product again.

From the first day the charger connection seemed a weak point.
After time the connection would literally fall out by itself.
Now after all the frustration I am left with a spare that has no power whatsoever.

    Two Strikes: Mophie OUT!

This product was exactly what I needed but did not survive ordinary use for 6 months. Took it back since charging port would not hold on to USB jack. It was replaced by Sprint (where I bought it) but the same thing happened to the second one, only in shorter time. This is not a product that should be associated with Apple as quality is very poor. I will try some other brand next.

Great idea but does not last...FAIL!

I love the idea of having an extra battery. I liked the look and feel of this product, but unfortunately Mophie needs to redesign it. First of all the camera does not work well at night in this case. The flash puts a glare on the photos and the photos come out blurry. I had to take my iPhone out of the case to use the camera with the flash. I had problems with the charging port. I had trouble keeping the connection and sometimes had to tape it to hold the connection. My Mophie started to give me problems 6 months into use and just two weeks over a year of having it, it stopped working all together. Its to expensive for all the problems!.

The good, bad, and ugly of the Mor "fee" $$$!

Debated, debated, and furthermore debated. FINALLY, decided to pick up one of these bad boys and boy was I dissapointed. First I'll give the pro's, because unlike many, I like to keep a good balanced review. The "on Demand" battery portion is AWESOME. Being able to juice the phone when need be was the deal breaker for purchase. It powers the phone very fast and you can EASILY go a day without charging an iphone4 / S. Something I couldnt fathom before purchasing. Also, rubberized material does cover your phone.

Ok, now to the bad ! For some reason my top kept unsnapping when I would pull the thing outta my pocket. Thus, I dropped my phone a few times or fumbled the thing upon catching it. Its still rather bulky given "slim" profile. I will say, please the good with the bad here because to get you have to give a little which will be form factor for more juice. Last, it takes a micro usb port which broke off only 5 days after I purchased. Not the business if I might say.

Mophie generally makes great products- my juice pack for the 3g lasted longer than the phone itself. the model for iPhone 4 has some issues though

i know some folks that have had zero issues but my wife and I both had problems

I had to return mine after 4 months- it actually "broke" the accelerometer on my phone. I would lose the ability to go inot landscape model and only a hard reset of thephone restored the ability. had to return the mophie and exchange my phone under Apple Care.

My wife- hers just could not hold a charge after about 7 months.

Again- good product and company- just be very mindful of performance

it also does affect signal strength.

    good then not so good

I've actually bought two of these because i thought I did something to break it originally (also the guys at the store sold me the wronger car charger - that didn't help). It's not very sturdy and chips and cracks extremely easily. the ports have issues and I'm just extremely frustrated with the physical make of this product. It recharges quickly and makes the battery last longer..but only if you can keep the case together long enough to be worth it. I'm also convinced its screwed with my ability to charge my phone with a regular apple charging cord.

Ihave owned several Mophie Juice Packs and have had quality problems with everyone. The last worked great for about 8 months then wouldn't charge my phone. For this reason I don't recommend this product.

Unfortunately, this nifty device fits too tight on my brand new iPhone 4GS. It was extremely difficult to get the phone out of it, so much so that it seemed as if I were about to scratch or break my phone.
I wish it weren't so as it does look and feel great (hence the two stars). But it should be easier to use.

    not durable

It worked well in the first few months. It definitely adds battery life. The case protects the phone from drops but sacrifices itself in doing so. It literally comes apart at the seams after a small drop. I have extended its life about 6 weeks with superglue but now it has come totally apart. It lasted about 5 months. Wouldn't recommend.

    4 / 4s case has port problems

On the case for the 4 and 4s they moved the charging / sync port from the bottom to the side. That was a bad move because after just a few months it became loose and non functioning.

I had one for my 3GS and it was great, the port was on the bottom.

    Bad usb port

I love everything about this product except the poorly made usb charging port. I went to charge it today and the port itself came loose and now will not work. I am still within my warranty period and have opened a case with Mophie to get it replaced. I will let everyone know how it goes.

FWIW, I have only ever used the usb cable that came with it and use my apple wall socket that came with my phone and I am very good about being gentle with all my electronics as I am kind of OCD about my stuff.

    It Broke

My biggest problem with the iphone4 is the battery life. So I decided to get a Mophie Air. I had it plugged into my computer, and it fell off the desk, with the cord still attached. It never worked again. I think the place where you attach the cord to the Mohie is very delicate. I then bought the Juice Pack Plus, and I believe it is a better product. It feels nicer in your hand, and has more battery life. Sure, it's a little heavier than the Air, but not by much. I am now very careful with cord connection.

    Shoddy case

    • Written by from Toronto

I received the Mophie from a friend as a gift last week. I was concerned that regardless of the protection it afforded my iPhone (more sturdy than my last case) it was bulkier, made it harder to reach the outer buttons, and I wasn't quite convinced it was the battery saviour it said it was. Literally 1 week later (today) whilst trying to plug in my mini usb the port broke and became loose!!! I didn't try to force it in the wrong way, nor did I wriggle, drop or pull anything; it just broke. Now I'm afraid to use this thing as even a plain case, figuring that the initial incentive of battery back-up is useless, but mainly because I figure the dock connector is just as flimsy as the mini usb connector!!! Shoddy, shoddy workmanship, people.

I bought it at the Black Friday sale last year and it worked mostly as advertised in the past several months. Starting from about a month ago, the charge/maintain switch began to malfunction, and the last time per charge started to deteriote. Today, it went completely dead and wouldn't charge anymore.

There you go ... a throw away standby battery for 4-5 months worth lifetime.

    Micro-USB Charging port issues

    • Written by from Newcastle

So I had an earlier version of the Mophie Juice Pac Air for my iPhone 4 that after a year started getting soft. This was to be expected so, I picket up a replacement battery from a local big box store. My first impression with there charging system is that they have went backwards with the fit on the micro-usb connector. The earlier version I had and an acceptable fit, nothing exceptional, but it worked OK. The latest battery I picked up has some serious cable retention problem.

I initially thought I had a unit with a manufacturing defect so I sent it back to Mophie and they promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement battery exhibits the same issue. The problem, as I see it is the micro-usb connecter is too far recessed into the case to make a good contact with the plug. If you use the Mophie supplied cable you should be OK but any other third party/standard micro-usb cable isn't going to fit very well.

So, be careful with what cable you use and be careful with the connector, tyour cables are going to fall out if you move it any (kind of a problem in a car).
