Like others, mine worked for about a month and then stopped charging my phone completely. What a joke. $80 for a case was ridiculous and now it's in the trash.

Ihave owned several Mophie Juice Packs and have had quality problems with everyone. The last worked great for about 8 months then wouldn't charge my phone. For this reason I don't recommend this product.

For that price it needs to be a better quality. It stopped charging after two months.

    Battery good, mini USB not

As with most other users I loved Juice Pack Air's extended battery life as I'm always on the go, but one day the mini USB port at the bottom of the battery pack couldn't hold the cable, and having to sort of pushing the cable into that plug with my one hand in order to charge and typing this with my other really annoys me.

This case is awesome. I like that you are able to remove the bottom control unit to access the standard iPhone connector without removing the phone from the case that gives you the ability to use a dock, Alarm clock etc or the standard iPhone usb cable if needed.

For my first test I drained my iphone4 to 0% and began charging it with a "fully" charged juice pack (I charged the juice pack for about 4 hours after I took it out of the box and while it charged my phone I didnt perform any functions on my phone. I just kept the screen black but in standby). On the first attempt my phone charged to 68%. On my second attempt I charged the juice pack over night and repeated the same test. This time my phone charged to exactly 80%. Perhaps giving the juice pack a full overnight charge accounted for the difference. I have not tested the juice pack for my own daily use yet so I cant comment on its performance in that regard. Daily use will obviously vary from person to person and how they use their phone. Personally the 80% charge seems satisfactory to me.

    Bad Mini USB Connection

    • Written by from Chesapeake

I purchased approximately 25 units for my iPhone4's in inventory. So far I have had to return approximately 30% due to the mini USB either making a bad connection or breaking away. The good thing is the company stands behind their product and have never hesitated to send a replacement. They need to QC this connection a bit more. Aside from this, I like the extended battery life.

    Had to Return It

Unfortunately, this nifty device fits too tight on my brand new iPhone 4GS. It was extremely difficult to get the phone out of it, so much so that it seemed as if I were about to scratch or break my phone.
I wish it weren't so as it does look and feel great (hence the two stars). But it should be easier to use.

Battery life and performance of phone increased. Not bulky and still very stylish. Get compliments all of the time.

I had the Mophie Juice Pack Air for my iPod Touch. I immediately went to get the Mophie for my iPhone 4. I absolutely love the look and feel of this case!

I was expecting for the case to give the phone a full charge. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't getting a full charge. Then, I realized if I turned the case on around 30%, I would get an almost full charge.

In conclusion, I really, REALLY like this case. It is by far the best looking charging case for the iPhone 4 out there. It's way past the competition in terms of aesthetics and functionality.

    Shoddy case

I received the Mophie from a friend as a gift last week. I was concerned that regardless of the protection it afforded my iPhone (more sturdy than my last case) it was bulkier, made it harder to reach the outer buttons, and I wasn't quite convinced it was the battery saviour it said it was. Literally 1 week later (today) whilst trying to plug in my mini usb the port broke and became loose!!! I didn't try to force it in the wrong way, nor did I wriggle, drop or pull anything; it just broke. Now I'm afraid to use this thing as even a plain case, figuring that the initial incentive of battery back-up is useless, but mainly because I figure the dock connector is just as flimsy as the mini usb connector!!! Shoddy, shoddy workmanship, people.

    USB Port Issues

    • Written by from Eagle River

You Would Think After Years of Problems They Would Improve the USB Port. I've read many reviews going back years and always the same issue with the USB. Mophie has replaced 4 for me so far. I take good care of my things and this case is no exception. I like the look and feel of the case and battery is great but I'm tired of having to ship mine back every 6-8 months for a replacement. Also, my first replacement they sent me back a used one, not even in original packing. Had to ship that one back too for a NEW case, only to have the same issue with the USB. I'm going to try a different, cheaper brand and see how I do!

    looks are deceiving

Everyone is saying the same thing. Great idea, less than acceptable quality. My phone fell from a chair onto a wooden floor and the top piece flew off and cracked in 2 places, making it difficult to put back together.
    Battery is average.
$80 is a lot to pay for product that is not ready for the consumer.
I hope the company is reading these reviews and making the adjustments because I'd buy another one if the product was of higher quality.

    not durable

It worked well in the first few months. It definitely adds battery life. The case protects the phone from drops but sacrifices itself in doing so. It literally comes apart at the seams after a small drop. I have extended its life about 6 weeks with superglue but now it has come totally apart. It lasted about 5 months. Wouldn't recommend.

    Product failed after 1 month

As others have stated, it was great while it lasted which was about 1 month. Then the case stopped charging up, and I'm guessing that it's a connection failure with the mini USB port...

    I hate this charger

    • Written by from Troy

10 of 13 people found this useful

The power cord won't maintain a connection, I have to reseat the charger 10-15 times just to get the thing half-charged. In addition, the micro usb plug falls out unless the charger is 100% still - that means you can't charge it in the car, you can't charge it connected to your laptop, and you can't even WALK near it because the disturbance in the air will disconnect the charger from the power source. Also, no talking near this charger whilst it is plugged into the wall, as the vibrations in your voice will disturb the delicate usb port and disconnect the charger from the power source.

This useless piece of garbage makes me so angry. Why can't these people put a little bit of effort into quality control?

    4 / 4s case has port problems

    • Written by from Hedgesville

On the case for the 4 and 4s they moved the charging / sync port from the bottom to the side. That was a bad move because after just a few months it became loose and non functioning.

I had one for my 3GS and it was great, the port was on the bottom.

    Poorly designed

The soft touch material on this battery pack is very nice but that's the only good thing! My unit, like several other reviewers, failed within 2 weeks. This is got to be the most unreliable piece of accessory I have ever owned. The MicroUSB charging port became loose that I have to wiggle and jiggle to get connectivity, but as soon as I flex the charging cable a bit, I would lose connection again. This happens with the provided MicroUSB charging cable and other MicroUSB cable I have.

Separately, I have also seen situations where it appears the battery pack is charging the iPhone and stops and starts again. This would happen repeatedly, to a point my iPhone display a message about the charger not be compliant and then shuts off the charging process.

I am very disappointed how poor the quality of this product is, considering the high price compared to other battery packs.
