    Broke within 3 weeks

    • Written by from Fair Lawn

I bought this and instantly fell in love. Not only did this case protect most of my phone; it felt great and wasn't terrible so far as looks go either. It was great with the battery life as well and it definitely is not overrated. I had no problems with until about 3 weeks in when suddenly it wouldn't charge. I tried different chargers and different outlets and nothing would bring my Mophie back to life. All in all I'm sure I got the defective one but Mophie and Apple wouldn't give me a new one. The one bad thing about all the Juice Pack Airs' is that they don't allow you to sync and charge at the same time. The only one that lets you do that is the Juice Pack Pro which is about $20 more. I just picked one up so hopefully it works out this time.

    One Dropped ended the love!

    • Written by from HENDERSON

I used the Juice Pack (JP) as my travel "lifesaver" for the past 7 months. Up until this week it served every need as expected and more. I dropped my iPhone 4 for the first time on a trip this July 11'. The JP hit on the corner that the power cord gets inserted into, still leaving the phone in perfect condition...but the impact killed the the power port. Looking at the JP it still looks like it's in mint condition until you attempt to charge it and realize the port closed from impact and very careful attempts to pry it open failed. Though it no longer can be used as a charger, it certainly protects the phone.

    Consistent micro usb issues

    • Written by from Memphis

I recently bought one of these for my wife, having heard great things about them. The case had a micro usb issue in which the connector port literally separated itself internally from the 30 pin dock connector AND the charging function for the cases internal battery. I got it replaced through mophie (with as little hassle as warranty replacement can be, which is still some) for a brand new one. With less than a week of use, the new case developed the exact same issue.

I have extensive technician experience working on iPhones and with apple (third party included) accessories, and can readily recognize port issues. These cases have one. I do not recommend buying this solely for this reason. Other than that, the case was everything promised. The problem is one of physical design, not of functionality. If you read through these reviews, I'm also not alone in noticing this issue. I'm not rating Mophie in general (for the most part, they're great), but rather just this case. Don't buy this case.

    Best powered case ever

    • Written by from Toronto

This is the second Mophie I bought. I was really rough on the first one and it died.

    My iPhone 4 remains pristine.

This one is so rugged, even I can't break it. I was snowboarding with this in my jacket pocket and landed on it in the middle of an icy half-pipe. It nearly broke my ribs.

    My iPhone 4 remains pristine.

I will always protect my investment with a Mophie powered case. Best accessory ever.

    Doesn't Sync with iTunes

    • Written by from The Pas

Using new iPhone 4s 64gb and it doesn't sync with iTunes when plugged in through the case like it says it does. Battery life isn't bad but for 80$ and advertised to work with 4s I am expecting it to work

    Port issue

    • Written by from Kingshill

I recently bought 5 of these cases for members in my family. For about a 2 weeks the cases were amazing now they won't charge at all. It's definitely a port issue but buying this product was definitely a waste of my money. It would be great if they could fix this port issue but idk if I'd be willing to buy this product again.

    Nice battery, but causes sratches!

    • Written by from Kirkville

This is a great case if you're going to be without a power source for a long time, but don't get it if you don't like scratches on your phone, or don't have a full body clear film for your case. As you'll most likely be taking this case on and off to use only when needed, you'll be causing little scratches all along the sides of the phone. I learned this the hard way. It also adds a lot of bulk and weight to your phone, so if you're someone who likes the slim, minimalist design of the iPhone, this is not for you! Additionally, even though it is a hard case with a soft interior, you will damage your phone if you happen to drop it (which is extremely easy to do with how slippery this case is) as the top half of the case just slides on, doesn't snap into the bottom half, and remains loose fitting. I even had it coming apart when it was in my pocket!

    Exactly what I wanted.

    • Written by from Alliance

It does exactly what it's meant to do. I personally like the slightly larger size than the iPhone itself, it makes it little more comfortable to hold. After about 16 hours of constant use today I still have 52% battery left. That includes all location services on, using gps for turn by turn directions (Motion X), browsing internet, retrieving e-mails every 15 mins, Bluetooth on and playing music while driving, making calls, and I spent most of my day in a bad reception area.

Great idea but does not last...FAIL!

    • Written by from Granite Bay

I love the idea of having an extra battery. I liked the look and feel of this product, but unfortunately Mophie needs to redesign it. First of all the camera does not work well at night in this case. The flash puts a glare on the photos and the photos come out blurry. I had to take my iPhone out of the case to use the camera with the flash. I had problems with the charging port. I had trouble keeping the connection and sometimes had to tape it to hold the connection. My Mophie started to give me problems 6 months into use and just two weeks over a year of having it, it stopped working all together. Its to expensive for all the problems!.

Good, but with a design flaw

    • Written by from Madison

It does what it says. The case is well designed, seems rugged, and it easily slides into a pants pocket. Of course it adds bulk and weight -- it's a battery. But they did it well.

The rather serious design flaw is the USB plug. If you look carefully at the product picture you'll see that the plug is recessed on the lower-right corner. In that location the curve of the case partially blocks the plug. The result is that it's very hard to fully insert a plug, and it easily and frequently comes unplugged. It's frustrating and sometimes you'll think you're charging, but discover the plug wasn't (or couldn't be) inserted deeply enough.

stopped taking a charge after 2 months

    • Written by from Wauwatosa

loved my juice pack for my old 3GS, never ever had a prob with it. Bought this new juice pack for my new 4GS same night I bought my new phone, I was so thrilled. Now two months later, it won't take a charge from the micro USB cord. No replacement bases on the Apple website or on Amazon or on Mophie's website either, So it's now a piece of $80 junk. what a f'ing scam. If it had broke in the 1st 30 days I could have gotten a replacement no questions asked, but oh no, it broke after 60 days. I know it's not an Apple product so not Apples fault or covered by AppleCare, but at $80 you'd think it would last longer than 60 days. what a rip

    Love it .... but

    • Written by from arlington

I bought mophi on September 2011 I really love it. The best part is that it truly protects the phone. It's a very durable case. The only problem I have with it is that the plug may not last more than a few months. The plug became loose...though the case was still working just fine. I contacted mophie a few days ago I hope they give me a solution. Great product, but it has its flaws.

Perfect and better then the "Market" Juice Pack Airs

    • Written by from San Antonio

Perfect and so much better then the Juice Pack Air offered in the general market, i.e. Best Buy, Sprint, Mophie's own website, etc. This particular case is only produced for Apple. The difference is that Apple's Mophie Juice Pack has the cap on the bottom which is so much better! I had the other version (cap on top) and I hated it because the top kept coming off, especially if I had it in my pocket and was pulling it out to answer it, etc. and it felt like it didn't hold the phone as secure as this version does. So needless to say...I LOVE IT!!!!! Thanks Apple and Mophie!

The good, bad, and ugly of the Mor "fee" $$$!

    • Written by from Marina Del Rey

Debated, debated, and furthermore debated. FINALLY, decided to pick up one of these bad boys and boy was I dissapointed. First I'll give the pro's, because unlike many, I like to keep a good balanced review. The "on Demand" battery portion is AWESOME. Being able to juice the phone when need be was the deal breaker for purchase. It powers the phone very fast and you can EASILY go a day without charging an iphone4 / S. Something I couldnt fathom before purchasing. Also, rubberized material does cover your phone.

Ok, now to the bad ! For some reason my top kept unsnapping when I would pull the thing outta my pocket. Thus, I dropped my phone a few times or fumbled the thing upon catching it. Its still rather bulky given "slim" profile. I will say, please the good with the bad here because to get you have to give a little which will be form factor for more juice. Last, it takes a micro usb port which broke off only 5 days after I purchased. Not the business if I might say.

    Best in the Industry

    • Written by from bayonne

Great Design and great usability. Protects the phone and provides extra battery life. I also am purchasing the hip holster for the juice pack so I don't have to keep it in my pocket. Definitely worth the purrchase, but a little expensivve

Great idea-needs better results and needs more QC

    • Written by from Minnetrista

Mophie generally makes great products- my juice pack for the 3g lasted longer than the phone itself. the model for iPhone 4 has some issues though

i know some folks that have had zero issues but my wife and I both had problems

I had to return mine after 4 months- it actually "broke" the accelerometer on my phone. I would lose the ability to go inot landscape model and only a hard reset of thephone restored the ability. had to return the mophie and exchange my phone under Apple Care.

My wife- hers just could not hold a charge after about 7 months.

Again- good product and company- just be very mindful of performance

it also does affect signal strength.

    Morphie

    • Written by from New york

From the first day the charger connection seemed a weak point.
After time the connection would literally fall out by itself.
Now after all the frustration I am left with a spare that has no power whatsoever.

    Two Strikes: Mophie OUT!

    • Written by from Lexington

This product was exactly what I needed but did not survive ordinary use for 6 months. Took it back since charging port would not hold on to USB jack. It was replaced by Sprint (where I bought it) but the same thing happened to the second one, only in shorter time. This is not a product that should be associated with Apple as quality is very poor. I will try some other brand next.

    Mophie battery loss

    • Written by from Bristol

Initially the Mophie for iPhone 4S was brilliant. It carried enough juice for charging phone from 5 to 85%.
however, after 6 months it only manages 20% and often has loss of connection to charge requiring the bottom section to be remived and reconnected. Also error messages on phone saying unrecognised device require same action.
All in all it has a poor life for an expensive device.
Chances of replacement at Apple Store? Slim I guess.

Charging at 40 miles an hour!

    • Written by from lisle

I can tell you one thing about this product. It takes a beating! I laid my iphone on top of my car, forgot I put it there and drove off. I heard a thump and looked at the speedometer, glanced in the rear view mirror and say the top part of the case bouncing down the road. I was doing 42 miles an hour and stopped as fast as I could. I put my hazards on and started walking around to find my phone. While searching I was questioning how bad it was going to be, it was Sunday, need my phone, no Apple Store around, cursing myself and finally found it face down. I hesitated as I didn't want to see the broken glass all over the place. To my amazement the phone had a couple of small scratches on the metal band and just a few hairline scratches around the speaker at the top. The Mophie case had gouges about 1/6" deep all over it. The case worked and saved my phone. The Mophie still charges and my phone works fine.
If I would have had a screen protector on it I think you would never be able to tell that my iphone slid and bounced down a country road at over 40 mph. I am sold on Mophies!!!
