    Do NOT get this...EVER!!!!!

    • Written by from Miami

**To those who do not want to read the full thing, my review is just to warn you to do yourselves a favor and get a cheaper one (not from Apple's store)...It will last longer, will be more durable/reliable and will save you money!!!**

My iPhone battery has reached it's end and dies in a matter of 30 minutes, I already had another case (got it from Amazon for just $30 about a year ago) but I was at the apple store and saw this. It looked nice and reliable and I could've used an extra back up juice pack so I bought it. That was about 3-4 months ago...now, even though the case is fully charged, it does NOT charge the phone, it somehow expanded so the phone no longer fits in properly, AND on top of that they have the nerve to charge $80 for this???
My one year-old $30 case is still perfectly functional and is still in great shape. Never going to buy this product or brand again! I'd pay no more than $5 for it, if anything...

    0/5 stars from me!

    WASTE OF MONEY

    • Written by from Rogers

I am on my 3rd Mophie for my iPhone 5s. These cases are terrible! They will not hold a charge. These cases will work well for about the first week and then will stop holding a charge. In less than a month I have had to trade mine 3 different times. My phone charger broke within a week! Do NOT waste your money on this! My brothers mophie completely stopped working after a couple of months! I wish I could give 0 stars for this product!

I would give 0 stars if possible

To make it quick, these cases DESTROY any battery life in your phone. It got to the point where my phone would die in about half an hour so I would have to flip the switch and turn the case on. I would do this about 4 times over the course of 4 hours, at which point both my phone and the case would die.

So don't buy it. Save yourself the money and just buy a new phone.

Not worth the $80 bucks mophie asks to fork up!

After doing extensive research…I thought I was making the right investment. I now have this for only two weeks and I am on my way to return this product. Issues I am having are; it doesn't take the charge. I have to move it around from outlet to outlet in my house like a crazy person, the mini USB design is a poor design to charge this case. The other thing I noticed is, the charging cable gets extremely HOT when plugged in wall jack charger. Not sure why that is. And quiet frankly, I don't see why I have to carry a laptop to charge this case. It defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Also, within two weeks of usage, this runs out of juice. What mophie claims of 500 full charge cycles is a complete false claim! I am extremely disappointed in this and like I said at the beginning of this review, I am on my way to returning this case. Mophie, needs to look at these reviews and address those issues and redesign their product for optimum charge / usage.

    Don't waste your money

    • Written by from Calgary

I love the idea of this case - I use my phone for everything and take loads of pictures, so the idea of extra battery and space was attractive. The hardware though is cheap and does not last. I just lost my 2nd Mophie (as well as the pics stored there) because of the USB port that inexplicably and suddenly STOP CONNECTING WITH THE CABLE. For a while it was loose and I'd have to wiggle it about the find the connection, then it just didn't work at all. Now I've lost the photos I moved to the Space there as well, so I'm less than impressed with this product.

Now I just carry a little portable battery pack for when the phone dies and I upload my pics to my Mac when I get full... It's a pain but there is no better alternative a t the moment.

Bottom line: don't waste your $$.

    Total waste of money

    • Written by from Bridgewater

It seemed like a great plan at first. Hey, double the power time of my phone! The first issue I had is that it makes my phone bulky and heavy, which is understandable since is is a battery after all. However, drop it once and forget about it. Mophie claims that this is a protective cover and battery all in one (they need to change that declaration to battery pack only). Perhaps if I dropped my phone on the couch, it would be okay, but since I dropped it on the floor, it instantly turned into a piece of junk. The unfortunate thing is that the area were the charger port is has less than an eighth of an inch of cover on either side, so that was where it was quite susceptible and where it broke. Had the charger port not been in such a stupid place, it might not have broken like it did. Now that it was that damaged, the one year warranty was moot, so I was left to fix it the best that I could so that I could still use the phone. It worked fine for a couple of months and eventually it started getting extremely hot to use and the charger port wouldn't work to charge it. So, I pretty much spent 80 bucks to use this thing for a few months before it was basically inoperable. Never again!

Mophie makes low quality, short life products

    • Written by from Whitefish

This is the 2nd charger for my 5s, I returned the first when it stopped charging after 4 months, now I've had this for another 4 months and it's not charging. The surface of the cover gets easily scratched, I guess they make these to last 4 months, but for 80$ It's a rip-off.

    Piece of Junk

    • Written by from Santa Rosa

My first Mophie, for 3GS, was great. The one for my 4S is junk. The connector for the charging cable became loose and broke after about a year. I've considered purchasing a new one, thinking mine might have been a fluke. After reading these reviews I see it was not. Many people have the same problem. For such an expensive item it should last a lot longer. I won't buy anymore Mophie products.

Terrible Product. Don't waste your money!

I could not use the product! I do not get good service at my house, therefore the service i do get is crucial, and the mophie case made my phone lose service. The product would work great if you got good service all of the time, but it made my phone lose a bar of service at all times. I did not have a problem charging the case or my phone with the product, but i only used it for two days!

Great design but bad charging jack

    • Written by from Jersey City

I love the way this thing looks. It's got a great clean design and works well when it works. But unbelievably it's got a problem with the USB charging jack. I sent my first one back thinking it was defective. They sent me a new one. Immediately the jack loosened up and it charges intermittently like the one before. I thought it was me until I read the reviews from other buyers here. It's outrageous that they haven't recalled all of them and redesigned it.

Mophie = Bad Product, Bad Warranty, & Bad Service

    • Written by from Wyckoff

First you have to have a special connector on the red to use any headphones.. Try keeping tabs on a 3" piece of plastic. Then you have to have a specific adaptor to charge (Keep one in every location you charge). Top it off all the models (3) I have had broke and they give you the run around in customer service. It acts as a protector, but that's an expensive protector! Don't waste your $!

Mophie juice pack = waste your money

    • Written by from Santa Fe

save your money. do not buy battery juice packs. Mophie mini usb cable will not communicate with itunes, my 2014 bmw, old stereo in Dodge nothing. Requires that you open the case or split case to get to iPhone connector. Do this for 4 months and case physically breaks. fine if you are 100% wireless and do not need to connect your iphone to computer.

    Lousy product design. Beware !!

    • Written by from Leuven

The miniUSB cable does not fit at all in the jack, so it impossible to charge the unit. This is just lousy product design, and it is near-criminal to continue to sell this product.
I returned this product to the store about 30 minutes after I bought it, and there they told me that almost all these Mophie Juice Packs are being returned to the store. To their credit, they returned my money without further ado. However, they continue to sell these faulty devices to other nonsuspecting customers, and that's a shame.

This product is known to have a flaw in the charging jack and it is still being sold to consumers. My charging port broke after a little over a month and will require repair. I will be avoiding mophie and letting everyone know that they willingly sell defective devices. Please avoid this this holiday season.

Mophie Packs are too expensive to fail so soon.

    • Written by from Camas

I am sad to say that the Mophie Juice Packs are not products that last long beyond the warranty period of one year. When I first purchased my Mophie Pack in June 2012 I really thought I would get at least 24 to 36 Months. At 15 months it failed. After contacting them, they have no interest other than suggesting to buy a new one. I am finished with this company. The Mophie company has poor quality control and very poor customer service. The Mophie Juice Pack I purchased was carefully handled never abused in 15 months. Problem is, they aren't cheap and after 12 months you are on your own. I should not have mislead my family and friends the first year I owned it. Some of their Mophie Juice Packs have failed about the same time frame as mine. Apple, don't endorse this product. There are better alternatives out there. Mophie is doing a dis-service to IPhone owners.
