I just got my ipad mini and synced it up- the entire top row of letters didn't work. I'm sending it back.

    Disappointing

I was hoping to be able to type on this keyboard, but the tiny and hard to push spacebar makes it nearly impossible. I would not recommend the keyboard, there are most likely more portable/useful purchases, especially for the price.

    Keyboard layout is infuriating

    • Written by from Franklin

I bought this to use with my iPhone so I didn't have to lug my laptop with me on weekend trips.

I love everything about it except the keyboard layout. The right shift key is not only less than half the size of my MacBook Pro keyboard, it sits right next to the up arrow---a major design flaw. Every time I attempt to hit the shift key while typing, I instead hit the up arrow.

The whole purpose of buying this keyboard was to be able to type emails faster on my iPhone. Instead, it slows me down because I wind up having too make too many corrections.

I'm back to tapping out messages on my iPhone.

    not for the small hand

The right shift key is located so far away that my pinkie finger continually hit the up arrow key instead. This was so frustrating that, after a few weeks, I gave up and bought a logitech zagg. Same price, much better product.

    Almost there...stay on target!

Directly compared to the Apple BT keyboard (aug 2011). I am used to typing on the latter.
Out of the box, the iEagle seems as sturdy as a 1980's G.I.Joe snow vehicle: so-so. I unfold it, and (with slight difficulty) slide the locking latch, and set it on the desk. This keyboard is not canted. The (2 included) AAA batteries pop into a top mounted compartment in the left. Table-top typing is not optimal b/c of it being flat, though rubber nubs keep it from sliding. I turn the keyboard on via another slider, it pairs flawlessly with my iPad. I prepare to increase the brightness on my iPad; whoops, no buttons for this(!). Undaunted, I begin typing, keyboard in my lap this time. I keep hitting the wrong keys, as the outermost ones are small. The keyboard bends slightly in my lap, it is not rigid enough for this. It still can fold in half and slide nicely into the included neoprene pouch, VERY cool and small. It still has a slide out iPhone cradle, pretty useless for the iPad (Hippih makes a separate iPad stand, etc). It is $100. Folding form factor cannot make up for 1. Lack of brightness buttons 2. Flimsy locked position 3. Difficulty of locking mechanism 4. Lack of canted position for tabletop typing. Hippih has some new stuff coming out which I may consider, but this keyboard is already returned...stay on target!

    Not a fast keyboard

    • Written by from Yarmouth

I got this so I could type fast. For emails and small docs. But the layout does not permit this. The top arrow is wedged between the right shift and the "/" and I constantly hit the up error when I want a capital .. which causes the cursor to jump up a line and errors follow.

Also the top row of numbers are too smaller and so you can't touch-type those as you would on a keyboard..

It is not bad for occasional typing.. But it is not nearly as good as the apple wireless keyboard. I was hoping to get something as good, but in a fold up design.

I had some issues with the CAPS lock not turning off.. but it is hard to say if this was the keyboard's fault, or the web-based mail software I was using at the time.

    I'll keep looking.
