    not for long time users

Awesome and unique. Attracts a lot attention anywhere you set up...my only complain is my macbook gets too hot because its like using the macbook on a pillow which is bad for your mac. it gets WAAAY too hot after awhile. i always have to take it out when i use for a long period of time.

    not impressed

    • Written by from Ventura

There's no doubting how attractive these are, or what a good concept it is. I bought one at the same time as my Air, but I don't take it out of the house often, so hadn't actually taken it and about, or even had the Air in the case much except a few times to show people.
The first time I actually used it last weekend, one of the zippers broke immediately. Makes me wonder how long the other zipper will last, but when its goes it will render the case useless.
Further, it isn't flexible, the Air doesn't fit it too harmoniously, so that when you do close it, if you aren't zipping it, it will tend to pry the Air open, waking it back up and draining power, so you may want to shut down more often than you otherwise would.
Lastly, and I am not saying there is any deception at all, but note that there is no room for anything but the Air, so if you want to take your charger, that's a separate 'carry'.

Not really for Retina Display MBP

    • Written by from South Pasadena

So I had bought this online through the apple store because it had high ratings and I liked the design of it. After receiving it through the mail, it does look nice BUT I would have to agree with one of the previous reviews stating that this was not really made for MBP with retina display. I am disappointed that the false advertising stated that it WAS for the retina display 13 inch (along with the Macbook Air), because even though it has enough room to cover the MBP, the corners that are supposed to hold the edges of the laptop together don't even protect the Macbook Pro (it's too high up) so it doesn't do its job of protecting the laptop, but instead just flaps loosely behind it when I have it open. I found a temporary solution which was to use a cloth to raise the back of my MBP up so that the top fits into the strings, but it looks really ghetto that way. I feel like they just advertised that it was for MBP retina in order to get more people to buy it, but it's kind of a waste of $ and I regret purchasing from this company.

    It looks cool

This one looks cool, but it is too big for my MBP13. It seems huge for mine but too small for MBP15.

    OKAY

    • Written by from ontario

okay, so i dont know how this fits for normal macbooks, but this case does not fit well with the macbook pro retina 2013. its a great design but it needs adjustments and styles for newer versions of the macbook lineups. I returned it within a week of using it.

Not for the MacBook Pro with Retina 2013

    • Written by from New York

I bought this along with my laptop later to find that it is not tall enough to fit the case. Very misleading. It's a nice case though.

    Too big and heavy

    • Written by from Westminster

My 13" MacBook with Retina Display does NOT fit snuggly in the BookBook, as the pictures suggest it will. It slips out of the straps at the top. Perhaps it is mislabeled, but I'm not going to try again. The BookBook also significantly adds to the weight of the laptop. Why pay for a small light weight laptop when the carrying case is going to be so heavy? It would perhaps be fine carried on its own, but I need something to put inside my brief case without adding so much size and weight. I will be returning this product. Very disappointed. It does at least look cool.

Great for a carrying case...but not a protective cover!

    • Written by from Corona

This is an attractive "carrying case"...but it doesn't fit as a protective case while using it. When you place your 13" MacBook Pro into the case and then place the top bungy corner straps over the top corners of the screen....they come off when using. This case is to big and WILL NOT stay of your laptop while using. Your laptop will have a nice cover to sit in but it won't adhere in any way to the case. Buyer beware.

    Sooooooo BIG and heavy!!!

    • Written by from Monrovia

It literally made my brand new 15" retina MBP
as big, bulky, and heavy as my old 17" 2007 MBP.
It just took away from the whole point of a slim, new laptop.
Bummer. I really loved the idea.
Wish they would have just made it without the hard board inside.
Zipper was a bit cheap, too.
