    I love this so much!

    • Written by from Huntington Beach

I saw Tom Hiddleston have this case and I thought it was a book. I saw it in the store and HAD to have it. I bought it for my macbook and LOVED it!!!! People always thinks it's a big book from far away. I just let them think that haha. It's worth the price, protects my macbook.

Not for the MacBook Pro with Retina 2013

    • Written by from New York

I bought this along with my laptop later to find that it is not tall enough to fit the case. Very misleading. It's a nice case though.

    Sooooooo BIG and heavy!!!

    • Written by from Monrovia

It literally made my brand new 15" retina MBP
as big, bulky, and heavy as my old 17" 2007 MBP.
It just took away from the whole point of a slim, new laptop.
Bummer. I really loved the idea.
Wish they would have just made it without the hard board inside.
Zipper was a bit cheap, too.

Great for a carrying case...but not a protective cover!

    • Written by from Corona

This is an attractive "carrying case"...but it doesn't fit as a protective case while using it. When you place your 13" MacBook Pro into the case and then place the top bungy corner straps over the top corners of the screen....they come off when using. This case is to big and WILL NOT stay of your laptop while using. Your laptop will have a nice cover to sit in but it won't adhere in any way to the case. Buyer beware.

    Too big and heavy

    • Written by from Westminster

My 13" MacBook with Retina Display does NOT fit snuggly in the BookBook, as the pictures suggest it will. It slips out of the straps at the top. Perhaps it is mislabeled, but I'm not going to try again. The BookBook also significantly adds to the weight of the laptop. Why pay for a small light weight laptop when the carrying case is going to be so heavy? It would perhaps be fine carried on its own, but I need something to put inside my brief case without adding so much size and weight. I will be returning this product. Very disappointed. It does at least look cool.

Do Not Buy For Pro Retina !

    • Written by from Carmichael

This Book Book case looks like it works great for the MacBook Air, but I recently purchased the MacBook Pro with Retina Display 13 and this thing is ill fitting at best. Well, if your intent is to just pop it in the case when your traveling it will technically work. If your looking for a case that will stay affixed to your MacBook while using it throughout your day, look elsewhere. You will be wishing you had when your stuck having to pay for return shipping.

okay, so i dont know how this fits for normal macbooks, but this case does not fit well with the macbook pro retina 2013. its a great design but it needs adjustments and styles for newer versions of the macbook lineups. I returned it within a week of using it.

    It looks cool

This one looks cool, but it is too big for my MBP13. It seems huge for mine but too small for MBP15.

Not really for Retina Display MBP

    • Written by from South Pasadena

So I had bought this online through the apple store because it had high ratings and I liked the design of it. After receiving it through the mail, it does look nice BUT I would have to agree with one of the previous reviews stating that this was not really made for MBP with retina display. I am disappointed that the false advertising stated that it WAS for the retina display 13 inch (along with the Macbook Air), because even though it has enough room to cover the MBP, the corners that are supposed to hold the edges of the laptop together don't even protect the Macbook Pro (it's too high up) so it doesn't do its job of protecting the laptop, but instead just flaps loosely behind it when I have it open. I found a temporary solution which was to use a cloth to raise the back of my MBP up so that the top fits into the strings, but it looks really ghetto that way. I feel like they just advertised that it was for MBP retina in order to get more people to buy it, but it's kind of a waste of $ and I regret purchasing from this company.

    I like it!

    • Written by from PALOS HEIGHTS

I asked for this case for Christmas last year for my 13" MacBook Air. I really like it--it zippers closed and is very unique. The case is well made and protects my MacBook Air when I have to take it up and down my stairs or out and about. I can just toss it in a bag and don't need to bother with a laptop bag for protection.

Easy to use, very hard, so smart and good fit for my MacBook Pro Retina.

    Careful!! Do not buy

    • Written by from Richmond hill

Warning! If your a 13" Macbook Pro with retina display user do not waste $80 dollars on this case. This may fit a 13" macbook Air perfectly, but not a 13" retina. When you put the retina in the case, the elastics barely grab on to the corners of your screen, and if you just open your retina display a tad bit past 90 degrees the elastics slip right off leaving you with a dangling back of the case. Due this problem it defeats the purpose of the case and i ended up returning this. I'v also seen in other reviews that people had the same problem!!

In conclusion, this case is beautiful and is really made for the Macbook air, but do favour for yourself and do not buy this case if you have a macbook retina. I tell you this so you do not disappoint yourself.

    Needs Improvement

    • Written by from Warner Robins

I LOVE the look of this case but have been frustrated with the way my MacBook Air slips around in it when unzipped. The elastic restraints in the top corners are not enough to prevent the slipping. I feel restraints or pockets should be added to the bottom corners of the case as well.

    Looks like a Book

    • Written by from BLOOMFIELD

It has a thin leather outer cover and compress cardboard for stiffness, and ultra suede lining with light padding. Care in closing and not forcing the zipper is key. Perfect fit even with plastic case on the apple. I find little fault with this case and I purchase two additional bookbooks for my other apple devices. Yes, it has scratches..you want it to have scratches and look used. It is a used book..duh! When hot in use I keep all devices in their respective bookbooks.

I received the 15" MacBook Pro version for my birthday. The computer fits perfectly even with the plastic Speck case on it. This case really looks like an antique book. It had scratches on it when purchased, but I think this is intentional to create the the look of an antique book. Leather smells good, not obnoxious & cheap.

OK but very easy to scratch

    • Written by from Montreal

Not to mention the terrible shipping which UPS provided, the case itself is ok. Hardback, classic, although the zipper is bit of hard to use.
It was covered by a dust bag, but when I took it out, the whole body was full of scratch already. It looks like a retuned item which upset me even more.
I don't want to go through the horrible shipping process again so I decided to keep it.
However, Twelve South should make some improvement on the outer packing part and zipper since it's an expensive case and client expected to use it for a long time.

Love the case - ticked about the zippers!

    • Written by from Topeka

I have heard several people say that they have plastic zippers on their Twelve South BookBook cases. I can only guess that they have a different generation (if there is such a thing for the BookBook) case, or that the case for the MacBook Air uses different zippers than for the MacBook Pro.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro, and received my BookBook case yesterday. Excited as ever, I removed it from the package and inserted my 1 month old MacBook Pro, which I love only marginally less than my children (just kidding, but thought it would work for emphasis).

After removing it once so I could snap the elastic corner stays from the case onto my MBP, I was shocked and upset to see and feel that the zippers had scratched the corners of my MBP, mainly the corners of the lid........but it really scratched them, and since I invested a lot in my MacBook (a lot for me, anyway), it kind of upset me.

I can't say that I don't love the BookBook......it is beautiful, and looks like a large encyclopedia (if Twelve South came up with a way for customers to personalize their BookBooks, i'd be willing to bet they would make more of a killing than they probably already are at $79.99 a pop). I will use the case until the stitches pop, especially now that my MBP has scratches on the case and I don't really want to take it out to use it!!
