    waste of money!!!!!

    • Written by from Brooklyn

It sounds great and looks great but it does not work. It is the most frustrating product I have ever bought from Apple.

Every few minutes it loses the connection to the computer and it never gets fully charged no matter how long I leave it on the charging station. I wished I returned it.

Don't make the same mistake I did. Does not work as promised and you will lose valuable work time reconnecting the mouse over and over again.

    Disappointed

    • Written by from New Milford

I have issues with this product on two fronts. First of all, the battery won't hold it's charge. With just a few months of use I find if I charge the mouse overnight to 100%, it will be down to 75% within a couple of hours of use. Usually, by the end of each day I am getting the pop up warning of low battery charge on the mouse. It's not like I am using the computer all day long so this is really just unacceptable.

The other, most irritating issue is bluetooth connectivity. From the onset, I have had problems with the mouse loosing its bluetooth connection. It happens frequently and, commonly, in threes. By that I mean the mouse will lose connection three times in a row before it will start working again. If I'm lucky, it will behave for an hour or so but sometimes I fight with the mouse continually. Sadly, it seems to be getting worse so I think this Mobee charger is not long for this world.

    Not a quality product.

CAUTION: Disconnection Issues, returned to rechargeable batteries

    • Written by from O Fallon

After about a month of use, the Mobee Magic Charger began to cause issues with Bluetooth connectivity. After searching through the Apple forums and trying all the solutions to keep my Magic Mouse connected, and none of them fixing the issue while continuing to use Mobee, I simply took the Mobee battery pack off the mouse and returned to using rechargeable batteries, and have had no issues with connectivity since. Perhaps this is a glitch with my particular unit (given all the glowing reviews here) but regardless, if it's an issue for one, it's probably an issue for many. Proceed with this caution in mind.

    A bit disappointed!

    • Written by from Longueuil

I think it had never charge to 100%. I used it 3 times, and now, after a night of charge, it's only at 80%... A bit disappointed!

    Wow - Awesome!

    • Written by from Rocky River

Ok.. some other reviews made me nervous.. but WOW!!! It's awesome.. works great... smooth... quieter slide than apples battery enclosure cover too. Charges likety split.. right out of the box. Lasted my whole day plus.. And I work baby! It's a bit faster and more responsive too. The platform that you just set your mouse down on is sleek and gorgeous just like an Apple product. Now.. no more batteries... always charged.. always great! Thank you Mobee!!!! MAGIC charger for the MAGIC mouse!

Mobee Magic Charger Stopped Working Properly

    • Written by from Beverly Hills

    Hello everyone,

I recently noticed that my Magic Mouse was "ghosting" and not providing the pinpointed accuracy I was used to. I took out my Mobee Magic Charger battery and replaced it with some standard AA batteries. So far I have seen a dramatic improvement in the response from the mouse. I'm wondering why Apple keeps a product like this in their inventory when there are so many bad reviews.

    Day one review

    • Written by from Grove City

I like the idea of not having to change/charge the batteries! That is the only reason that I bought this, to make life just a tad bit easier. There is only one concern. The battery pack doesn't sit completely flush in the mouse. I can see rub marks on the aluminum battery pack from my desk. It is almost like it is bowed out just a bit because it is such a tight fit. Other than that day one is great.

    Disappointed

I was disappointed in this product. My experience was that the mouse continually lost connection with my iMac when I used this charging system. I tried for several days to make it work but finally gave up in frustration. Fortunately, I kept my original battery back plate and was able to return to my previous AA battery system which, by the way, works just fine. I would not recommend this product.

    Poor battery life

    • Written by from Breda

In the beginning this product seemed to work "okay"; I had to charge it like once a week orso, with an activity of max 4 hours a day. But nowadays I have to charge the battery every day and sometimes twice a day. It just drains a whole lot and it seems to be getting worse. Too bad because I thought it was a nice product. At least better than changing batteries all the time

Very happy with this product. Have been using for the past year without issue. I have paired it with the a Logitech Solar keyboard and I never have to worry about batteries anymore. Lovely.

I'll take the Apple rechargeable battery pack.

    • Written by from Baltimore

I've been a long-time fan of the Apple rechargeable battery pack having at least three of these. But I got suckered into a slick new technology that seemed simple and foolproof enough...I was only partially right. The device is nicely constructed to match the Magic Mouse. It comes with the charging pad and a battery pack/cover that replaces the corresponding Apple parts. But from there on , it's been downhill for me.

My two biggest complaints are centered around the very reason one would purchase the Magic Charger. The batteries do not hold a charge despite being on the charging pad overnight. It will drain up to 50% of it's charge in less than a day. Seems excessive... Second, it loses the connection to the Mac on a regular basis as I'm working. This is REALLY annoying! Right now I've replaced the Mobee batteries with some off-the-shelf EverReady Lithium batteries. So far no disconnection, so I've pretty much ruled out everything but the Mobee batteries. Don't expect me to figure out why, I'm just interested in the results.

    Finally available through Apple!

    • Written by from Duarte

I've had this for a few years. It does exactly as it says it does. I see a lot of bad reviews from misguided people on here though. People seem to think buying (and throwing away) $20 of batteries every couple months is somehow better than recharging your mouse every two days. You literally set the mouse on top of the charger overnight (or whenever) and that's it! People find that troubling?? Well, what I find troubling, is wasting batteries when you don't have too! Anyway, yes, it would be great if it stayed charged for a year, but this is literally the most convenient charging system I've ever encountered. I really like this machine, and will continue to use as long as they make them.

    Love it

    • Written by from Magnetawan

I bought 2, and I always forget to charge it, but it still always works. so the charge lasts long. I had a problem with one . pretty sure I got food crumbs in it , and emailed Mobee, the only way to contact them, and they sent me a new one without even looking at the receipt. Just wanted me to send a photo of it.

    Very unreliable connection.

    • Written by from PLEASANTON

I researched why my new magic mouse frequently lost connection. I have a recent laptop and a new mouse. The issue seems to be like the blogs said: the batteries in this charger are the issue. After I purchased the rechargeable Apple batteries and used those in the mouse, it has not had any connection problems. The computer is able to wake with the use of the mouse too. The charger has its own enclosed batteries, so the Apple batteries are not able to be used with the charger. I would guess they aren't compatible.

The Apple rechargeable batteries are almost as convenient and cheeper.

Spend your money on rechargeable batteries instead

    • Written by from Honolulu

Literally just threw this thing in the trash. I've had it about nine months and every time I use it, the mouse constantly disconnects and reconnects until I take the power pack out and replace it with batteries. This replaced a set of rechargeable batteries that worked just fine for three years. I'm getting new rechargeable batteries which saves money and pollutes less and significantly lowers my frustration level by removing this annoyance from my life.

I honestly do not know what is going on with these negative reviews. I've had mine for three months (I bought both the mouse and the charger at the same time) and have had no problems with it. Knock on wood.

    Flawed product

    • Written by from Swindon

Echoing so many of the other reviews here - I bought one of these (Apple store, Portland OR), and it worked great for about 10 days. Now, however, it won't charge (or at least, report a charge) beyond 3 or 4%, and I get constant "mouse battery low" notifications and random disconnections.
As a concept, great. As an implementation - second rate. I expected better; don't Apple do basic quality screening on products they stock in their stores?

    Need improvement

    • Written by from Epping

Other inductive charging solutions (for phones) magnetically locate the inductive coil in the phone, to the one in the charger pad. The magic charger really needs something like thing, as if the mouse if not aligned properly, it'll take significantly longer to charge.

The reduced capacity of the batteries is an issue. Really you need to stick the mouse on the pad every night, and if you forget a couple of nights in the row, you're back to the AA's.
