    No problems - very satisfied

    • Written by from Northville

Bought this about 3 weeks ago, more on impulse because it looked really cool. I read some reviews and wasn't completely sure how it was going to be, but the batteries actually lasted much longer than I expected. I have had no problems with the battery pack coming undone, and the charge has continuously lasted me over a full work week. Overall, charges fast and does what it says.

    Does not Work

    • Written by from New York

I had the same problem mentioned in several of the other reviews: Despite charging the mouse overnight (first with the rechargeable battery in the mouse and then just the rechargeable battery), my iMac was never able to detect the mouse and the mouse's power light never came on. I emailed Mobee support and they did try to help (asking me to email them photos of the battery contacts) but I have already invested too much time in this. I hope they get the manufacturing kinks worked out one day.

You Need 2 Battery Packs To Use This

    • Written by from San Jose

Lucky for me they accidentally shipped two of these to me instead of just the one that I ordered and thank goodness they did! You can only charge the mouse battery when it's plugged in the computer. The only time my computer is on is when I'm using it with my mouse. So I always have that second battery charged and ready to go thanks to their mistake. If I only had one battery, I'd be up a creek when the battery dies, and that's quite often. This would be an excellent product if they included a wall charger. Serious design flaw.

Work when it works, but disconnects after a bump

    • Written by from PROSPECT BAY

I have had my Mobee Magic Charger for 2 weeks now, it seemed to work pretty good, but it was disconnecting from my MacBook Pro every so often.
I found the problem to be, when the mouse was bumped or taped to hard, it would disconnect every time.
I tried cleaning the contacts but that made no difference.
Worse than that, if you take the Mobee battery pack out more than 3 times the little tiny plastic lock breaks.
Also I found that the charge was good but not as long as a decent set of batteries.
    DON'T BUY ONE!!!!

    Magic Mouse Batteries to heavy?

    • Written by from Cham

I work as a video editor since more than ten years and never had problems with my hands. Since a month I got the new Magic Mouse and since nearly two weeks my right hand wrist starts hurting. I didn't change at all the way i work... is it because the Magic Mouse is to heavy that i got this pain? I'm afraid I'm right...

I'll get a Mobee Magic Charger with the other batterie set (a bit lighter) and hope that it will improve my workflow. I like the mouse, but if it doesn't work I definitely have to look for other products or providers.

Why is the Mobee Magic Charger working with rechargeable batteries and not with an accumulator cell/batterie like each computer do? This would be much lighter i guess...

    Works perfectly for me

    • Written by from STEVENSVILLE

I use my magic mouse constantly and this product has worked perfectly for me. My Magic Mouse is several years old, I purchased it when they first came out. The charger has worked perfectly for me. I haven't had the problems other reviewers have reported. The battery and lid were no harder to insert than the original battery compartment cover. I leave the mouse sitting on the pad and it is always fully charged whenever I begin to use it.

BTW, there is a nice widget (Mighty Monitor) that you can use on Dashboard to show your wireless battery levels. It is nice to always have the mouse charged. For me this has been an easy and elegant solution. I don't understand the problems others have had, but if it doesn't work for your mouse, return it to Apple for a full refund (within 14 days).

    Great Idea, Bad Engineering

    • Written by from CARROLLTON

I absolutely love the concept and enjoyed the mouse for the short time it worked. The battery pack started popping loose thereby causing the mouse to lose its connection with the computer. I constantly had to reseat the battery pack and reconnect it with the computer via SETTINGS. I finally gave up and called Apple. Being inside of the return window, I am sending it back and hoping for a redesign by Mobee. I suggest an AC/USB charger be added to allow for charging separate from the computer.

    Cheap

    • Written by from Watkinsville

The cover for the battery compartment for the Magic mouse is made of a fairly sturdy piece of what I would guess is aluminum. You remove this piece and the batteries and insert the rechargeable battery from the Mobee. The part of the Mobee that essentially replaces the battery compartment cover is cheap and flimsy plastic. The portion of this that is up against the rechargeable batter is fine. The other part however, the part that locks into the mouse is subject to damage that the regular cover would be unlikely to sustain. I inserted the battery and close the case and the Mobee did not "turn on" the mouse. So I put it back on the charger to see if it was charged and it was. I popped the battery back out to make sure I seated it properly and upon my reinstall, the tab on the cover that goes over the black latch essentially snapped making it impossible to firmly seat the batteries in the device. Great idea, cheap execution.

    useless

    • Written by from San Francisco

this thing looks so easy, but mine just won't work. it says its charged, but as soon as i take it off the charger the red light goes on and it won't work. you're better off just changing batteries - its not that hard. this is a $50 piece of junk.

    Works Great with Some Mice

    • Written by from MONTICELLO

I have a number of Macs and Magic Mice. The Mobee Magic Charger will not charge an older MM but works flawlessly with a newer one I have. When I could not get the Mobee charger to work I went through all the problem solving steps listed by other. Finally I charged the battery pack outside the MM. But when inserted and fully charged it still would not connect. Next inserted the battery pack in a newer MM and it connected to my Mac and charged on the base. It has operated flawlessly for several weeks. It keeps this MM charged to 100%.

I suspect those with difficulties (after verifying that the pack is inserted properly) may have an older Magic Mouse. That would make charging problems a function of the mouse not Mobee.

    Incredible

    • Written by from Pietermaritzburg

My magic mouse is my constant companion in work and play. My Mobee kit arrived yesterday. There was no problem in installing it - just make sure the black button clips onto the battery pack! It's easy. The lighter battery pack has improved the feel of the mouse, but what I can't understand, and am thrilled about, is that the tracking consistency and feel of the pointer movement seems to be more accurate and consistent than with regular rechargeable AA batteries. And Jitouch and BetterTouchTool (true Magic Mouse connoisseurs will know) no longer seem to conflict when it comes to taps! And leaving it on the charging matt to recharge (with my Iphone 4 wall charger adapter!) overnight worked perfectly. Great product.

    Works as advertised, integrated design

    • Written by from Brandon

I have had the device for several months now. The battery pack it comes with keeps its charge for a long period of time (I have yet to manage to exhaust it). The charger is unobtrusive on the desktop and integrates well with the mouse in it's look. I would recommend this device.

    Extremely Disappointed!

    • Written by from Mississauga

The concept and the look of the Magic Charger is great but only if it works. I charged the a battery overnight, installed it but the mouse didn't work. What made the situation more frustrating was removing the battery from the mouse. The battery fits too "perfectly" inside the mouse which it makes it very difficult to remove it afterward. I took it to an Apple store and they too couldn't take it off. Because it's a third party accessory, Apple will not take responsibility for the product even though I bought it off their website. I emailed Mobee and they gave me a tip on removing it but that didn't work either. In the end, I was able to pry it open (with extreme care!) with a small pocket knife and thank god, I didn't damage the mouse. To say I'm disappointed with the whole experience is an understatement.

Not to be so negative, I am extremely satisfied and having fun with my first iMac purchase ever.

Induction Battery Pack has no power and is very malleable

    • Written by from Los Angeles

Put the induction battery pack in the mouse. Let it charge on base until base's light was a constant green. Tried to turn on the mouse, but had no success. I don't think the mouse is getting power because its little green light is never coming on. I want to push or re-seat the induction battery pack, but it is flimsy and only slightly stronger than a piece of aluminum foil. I will be returning it.

    its okay...

    • Written by from Calgary

i just got this product yesterday and i am not impressed at the fact that i cant charge my batteries without having the computer on all night. for 50$, its kinda stupid but i found one of the phone chargers for the iphone and all i did was replace the iphone cable with the magic charger (coz both of them use usb ports) and so far, the light is blinking and i think it works fine. as for putting the battery in and taking it out, i did not have a problem...

I love it! I always wanted something like this but Apple never did it. Now, I no longer have to switch batteries for my mouse!
