After only about 8 months of use this case is pretty much destroyed. All I do is carry it in my hand to and from the office. It's no abused. But every single clip has cracked off from the bottom shell and the top part of the shell, while it still has all it's clips, has big ugly long crack in it. The case is a piece of garbage and not worth anywhere near the outrageous asking price.

Let's break it down.

Pros:
-rubberized feet with anti-tilt function (nice for uneven or slanted surfaces)

Cons:
-scratches WAY too easily from everyday use (looks especially terrible when scratched)
-too many gaps on the bottom piece of the case where dust can get in between the case and the air requiring constant removal to clean it, which leads to my next point
-constant removal of the case leads to the two clips at the back to snap easily (mine lasted about a month)
-cracks appeared on the case after about a month of usage, especially around the corners
-the top half that snaps onto the screen is too heavy, causing the screen to tilt backwards all the way (very annoying and terrible design flaw)
-does not allow for ventilation, causing overheating and excessive fan noise (up to 7000rpm on moderate CPU usage)

Overall a poorly designed, badly conceptualized case. Not worth getting, especially at this price point.

Bought this about 4 months ago for my 11" MacBook Air. I don't ust the Air very often and it almost never leaves the house. In short it's pretty much babied. This case has been a disappointment. It's starting to crack in a few spots and one of the corners is cracking badly. The little tabs that wrap over the top edge of the MacBook are extremely small and fragile and are breaking off. Now the covers can pop off while in use.

I'm checkIng on the warranty but even if replaced I have no faith any longer in this product. Not recommended.

I am completely disappointed in this product and upset on how this product worked for my mac.. I bought it to keep minor scratching away from my mac but instead this product left lots of scratches. I love my mac and I’m upset that it has left my mac exactly how I didn’t want it to be. I’ve had this product only for 2 months.
I had a problem before about how the top part started to peel but as long as my mac was okay I didn’t mind it, but now it’s a different story..

Bought this case in September for my computer which is only used for school purposes. The clips holding the cover all broke off the bottom part and now is unusable. For a $50.00 cover, it was definitely very cheap and did not last as long as it should or serve its purpose.

Very disappointed...

Speck usually has fabulous products. This cover is a huge disappointment. If apple checked this case for quality it would have failed and told them to make if from something else. The cracks make the macbook air look cheap. This will protect your mac but it detracts from the styling. Its like having a Ferrari with the body of a beat 60 year old topless dancer.

Had to return. Didn't allow my MacBook AIr 11" to breathe, and the machine kept shutting down.
