The Zeppelin air is simply amazing. The sound quality of this little machine is spectacular. Clearly the price point is high, but listening to this vs. other speaker docks is truly a "get what you pay for" experience. It's well worth the price paid and is really on a different level than any of the $300-400 range wireless or wired ipod docks. I have a Klipsch iGroove SXT and have listened to the Bose Sounddock which both pale in comparison to the Zep, in fact there really isn't a comparison at all in terms of sound quality. While both those products are substantially cheaper, and quite good at their respective price points, the Zep offers similar "value" in terms of sound quality to price. I also love the styling of the Zep, but obviously that's a subjective and personal preference. Unfortunately, I can't compare it to the Sounddock 10 which would be a peer priced product, but given that the Sounddock 10 does not offer wireless streaming (bluetooth or airplay) without the purchase of an additional product, even if the sound is comparable, the Zep Air provides that additional and extremely useful feature. I've read several reviews that complained about Airplay streaming dropping randomly and I have to say I have experienced some streaming drops. There is a pattern to these drops as follows: iPad 2 and Macbook air to Zep = flawless. IPhone 4s to Zep Air problems everytime, but based on my searches of the web, this is a problem with the 4s and Airplay, not the Zep. While this is pretty frustrating, I assume that Apple will take care of this in one of the next updates for the 4s. If I wan't confident about this, I would be on the fence about keeping this product since my main devices for streaming at home are the 4s and the iPad, but I'm confident this will get ironed out. Finally, streaming from iTunes running on a PC (Vaio laptop) = random drops from time to time.

In sum, after trying 3 products during this buying experience (and only planning to spend $300 at the start) I am completely satisfied with the Zeppelin Air despite doubling my budget. If sound quality is a premium for you and you can justify the $600 price point, you should definitely give this product a try.

    Amazing Sound, easy setup

Complaints on here about this item being hard to setup seem strange to me. It took me all of 5 minutes to get Airplay working. If you have a basic reading ability and can type, you will be playing your songs over Wifi in no time.

Sound is amazing, easily blows away any other dock I've seen. And it can jam! It gets really loud.

Price is high but you get what you pay for in life.

    I love this speaker !!!!!!!!
I was, at first, turned off by all the nightmare stories I read about the "set up".
I got the application "Air play set up" from Itunes.
It made it so easy and fun to set up.
If you buy it make sure you use the application.
    NO ethernet cables.
    NO internet log in.
    Good luck !!!!!!!

    Too Bad...

When it works, it sounds great... Problem is it rarely works correctly. Even the dock doesn't always recognize my iPhone. The worst is listening to music wirelessly that cuts in and out. It's very frustrating, and for the price they should have perfected it. Bowers and Wilkins makes great speakers, but they didn't get this one right, and I'm bitter that I'm one of the early purchasers that wasted so much money.

    iphone 4s cutting out

Works great on airplay for all other devices in the house, but not the wife's iphone 4S - it connects for a couple of minutes then loses the signal and jams up the Airplay on the Zeppelin, so have to restart before connecting to another device. Have tried restores etc on the iphone 4s and no success. Even tried downloading the Firmware update for Mac from Zeppelin site, but got an error trying to open it!

Not ideal, they need to sort issue so compatible with iphone 4GS

Love everything about it. The sound is impeccable and the AirPlay is a lot of fun to use. I like the ease of connectivity. The only problem is that my new iPhone 4S will not work longer than a minute and the zeppelin drops from the wireless network.. Just as the other reviewer said. I have to unplug it to get it up and running. Everything else that I use to AirPlay to it does not have this effect. Please fix it soon and I would be happy to give it 5stars.

Just picked up my second pair of B & W's! My first was MM-1 for my desk top. Those were very impressive. I wanted wireless speakers that could move around such as the Zeppelin. After setting up Airport Extreme which was so easy, I took my Zeppelin into my garage and WOW! This woke up my neighbors! I accidently had the volume on max! I highly recommend this system to anyone looking for high end quality willing too pay the price. Well worth it! FYI... I own Bang and Olufsen home system. So I am picky! Enjoy!

    Many Products One Selection

Hello all, hope this helps like minded individuals. I have a "sensitive" ear for audio and my tastes run from opera to heavy metal and RAP. So here is the meat-n-potatoes. After buying the B&W Zeppelin, MM-1, and Bose Companion20's I can say this. You don't go wrong with any of these. The MM-1 are wonderful near field GEMs (best if the only speaker you're going to purchase for near field). The 20's surprise and delight with rich full frequencies that create a tight image but sound a bit more artificial than the MM-1's. The Zeppelin is in a league of it's own. If money is not the object, it stacks up against the B&O and blows away "tube" offerings in realistic and impressive room filling sound. It performed much better at filling large open areas with sound that recreates a sound stage that in some ways defies this old audiophile. No issues with airplay for me. Long and the short, after trying 10 different models, I bought the 20's for my iMac and the Zeppelin for living area. At near fields (arms length) the 20's are comparable and half the price.

Great sound....but don't buy if you have BT Infinity!!!! Despite assigning a static IP etc to the Zepplin and spending hours on repeated set up attempts Airplay only stays connected for about 1 day.

    Very unsatisfying

I upgraded from the already very good sounding original Zeppelin and was not wrong to do so. They sound even better and I did not experience setup problems with the airplay feature. Prior to buying I considered the B&O Beosound 8 as I had B&P stereo system in the past. My experience with the Zeppelin and the airplay functionality led me to buy the new Zeppelin Air instead.

Zeppelin Air produces excellent Sound! Audphile Approved!

I've had the Zeppelin Air for two weeks and have used it every day. I paid very close attention to the instructions when connecting this unit to my network (which took 10 minutes tops) and made sure not to input the wrong password - Doing so will require you to reset/restore the Zeppelin Air which is no big deal. AirPlay is now setup with our 2 macs and our iphone 3G & iPhone4.

We also connected the Zeppelin Air to our television (directly above the Zep) via an RCA to 1/8" adapter. Crisp highs and very low basses that, even at high volume, don't overpower the other frequencies or distort them.

The sound is excellent. The setup is easy and the possibilities are endless! I can't wait to get home and listen!

Awesome Product, but here are some details

Zeppelin Air is a great product and I want to write this review to help anyone who is hesitating whether to buy it. Be patient and read on, I hope you could make the best choice for you.

First, you need to realize it's not an apple product. Since it's not made by apple, you shouldn't expect Zeppelin Air to work as seamless as it is between apple products (like AIrplay from iPad to Apple TV). They are from different company. There will be some gaps/dropouts during Airplay, but I think this is totally bearable. Some people complain about the airplay is dropping out every 1 minute. Do some research on how to better set up the airplay. It's mostly about the routers. When you get the router done, it's not going to dropout every minute and I'm sure about it because I went through all that. B&W is a respectable company with great reputation.

Second, the way it sound is great. It is room-filling, but it utilized more bass to create a feeling of room-filling, so it's kind of an easy way to achieve that name. So you will need a little EQ adjustment if you want it to sound more natural but it's no big deal, just some clicks on whatever iDevice you're docking it with.

Third, it has individual drivers for high/med/low frequencies, but there is a good distance to listen to it. I have a studio which measures 18X24. From 3-5 feet, it sounds great with an excellent stereo feeling to it. But when you get further away, you hear more how it is individual drivers instead of separate speakers.

Ok, so far I've stated three drawbacks of it. BUT, none of them marks it a bad product. I've owned Bose,Beats headphones+speakers. None of them could compete with B&W unless you're a Bass-sucker. I would definitely recommend this product. But I just hope whoever buys this great speaker could think whether they can accept these three minor(I consider it minor) drawbacks since it's priced at $599. Just keep in mind that it's not an apple product, so expect do some work on your own to get it work smooth. Want something this good and plug and play? Buy $999 B&O which is without airplay. Otherwise, enrich yourself with some knowledge of routers and you'll enjoy this wonderful speaker as you take a sip at your cappuccino.

    Zoomin' Zeppelin

I purchased my Zeppelin about 3 weeks ago. I have been streaming tunes from Itunes on my PC. As soon as I bought my Ipod 4th Generation 64GB Itouch, I immediately started to stream some tunes from it to the Zeppelin. Absolutely amazing sound. I also have another well known docking system portable as well as another docking system I really get a kick from. Much to my surprise, the Zeppelin came out # 1. I love a lot of deep, booming bass. I had to trim everything to "flat" as this puppy sounds awesome and can also get very loud. Luckily I live in a house seperate & apart from any other housing. I am able to listen to my music as loud as I want. You simply have to find a Zeppelin like at Best Buy and give it a listen to. Clear and crisp highs with a loud and booming bass. The Zeppelin has an amp for each of the 5 drivers. The sound is flawless and very pleasing to my ears. It really is a "must listen to" unit.

These speakers deliver amazing quality sound and the customer service is second to none. I recently had a small issue and upon return of the product, found that they had replaced damaged external parts and extended the warranty as a gesture of goodwill - unheard of from its more mainstream counterparts - Bose etc. If you are looking for fantastic acoustics delivered through a beautifully designed and built product, the Zeppelin Air is definitely for you!

The Zeppelin is an excellent speaker set, but it doesn't work with iPhone 4s via AirPlay (check the support forums). Most unfortunately there is no statement from B&W and they do not show any reaction on emails to their support. Very disappointing service for a product in this price range!

I have had one of these speakers since it came out and I enjoyed it so much that I bought a second for a multi-room system. I do not understand why so many people are having problems with the airplay. Mine works great!!! I am guessing it must be a glitch with the 4S because My Ipad, Macbook Pro, and Iphone 4, work great with the airplay. I can now switch to the different speakers depending on which room I am in or play them them both at the same time if I am playing from my Macbook Pro. The only thing better than a zeppelin air is having two as a multi-room system. My friends really enjoy the airplay app because they can add to a playlist on my IOS device from their own devices. It is a lot of fun at parties!!!

This speakers are not cheap. Yes. BUT they are worth every single cent. The sound quality, fidelity, and overall performance has no match. Once you listen to them in your house, cottage, etc you realize that it is an investment but the return on investment is high and it enjoyable by everyone that plays music, movies, etc on them. The more research you make about the type of technology this bad boys carry the more you realize they could be priced much higher.

    great sound...but...

Okay, first the good stuff. This thing sounds AMAZING! I actually compared this unit to the beats boombox and while the bass on the boombox is stronger (naturally), both units were plenty loud enough. I do think the zeppelin has a more balanced aound. The key difference was when you're trying to listen at low volumes. The Zepplelin has way more detail even when you have to listen to your music at lower levels.
Bad stuff: The Airplay part of this unit ONLY works with the music part of your Itunes library. Movies, stuff off the internet, no can do. Don't worry though, there's a mini plug input if you want to use that. Oh, and knowing what input you're using can be a little confusing since it's only a little light that changes color to let you know which one you have on.
I bought the MM-1's too..and returned them (they get HOT!) and put this in front of my computer instead. I do not regret the $ I spent on this unit at all. : ) As other reviewers have said, "if you can afford it...get it!"

The Zeppelin Air sounds terrific, with a muscular, cohesive sound that works hard to make the most of compressed music tracks. And the thing i most like is there is a option to connect pc or mac via wi-fi. :)
