    Don't waste your money with terrible wireless performance

    After owning this device for almost 2 years my experience with Zeppelin Air is it great IF it works but for most of the time it just doesn’t.

    Wireless airplay works sporadically at best with constant pauses & complete failures to stream. The lovely device has now decided to keep resetting its network name every time it sleeps on top of all they other annoyances. Don’t waste your money on this device if you plan to use on a wireless network you will be very disappointed. After every firmware release I get excited in the hope that it will finally work but it never does.

    I say as a very loyal fan to the BW brand with 600 series speakers for my home theater setup along with M1 computer speakers, P5 & C5 headphones.

    Worst of all is B&W support who take days to get back to you with very generic answers which never solve the problem. B&W should stick to just making speakers without embedded amplifiers !

    Serious issues with Air Play

    This device has a great sound WHEN WIRED. I had it replaced because the streaming (Air Play) is simply a disaster (cuts out or drops the sound after a couple of seconds and just stalls). The replacement unit is even worse than the one I originally purchased.

    I alternatively use my Apple TV and have NO SOUND BREAK OUT ISSUE, whether I'm streaming from my MBP, iPhone 4, IPad 1 or 2..

    I believe the network module in the Zepp Air needs to be thoroughly looked into.

    Serious Networking Issues. Not AirPlay related

    Love the sound of this thing but the networking stack they implemented stinks.
    The device is constantly dropping off of my wireless network even though the indicator light remains solid purple which means it's connected and in AirPlay mode. Check of wireless clients through Airport Utility shows that sure enough the Zeppelin is not connected to the wireless network. I have had this happen during the middle of playback, like others. But I have also had this happen after pressing the standby button on the unit to wake it up with zero AirPlay connection attempts. The only way to correct this is to power cycle the unit. Really? And yes the firmware is at the latest version. And I'm still waiting to hear back from B&W's tech support.

    Honestly I'm ready to just dump this thing and go with an Airport Express and speakers. My sister's family has had zero issues with this setup.

    If you are seriously considering dropping this much cash, I would think twice.

    Too Bad...

    When it works, it sounds great... Problem is it rarely works correctly. Even the dock doesn't always recognize my iPhone. The worst is listening to music wirelessly that cuts in and out. It's very frustrating, and for the price they should have perfected it. Bowers and Wilkins makes great speakers, but they didn't get this one right, and I'm bitter that I'm one of the early purchasers that wasted so much money.

    Will Not Power Up after Using WiFi

    Sounds great BUT the Zeppelin does not stay connected to Air Play/WiFi - then it DOES NOT even power up. The WiFi signal is intermittent at times, but for added frustration, the Air Play lasts the day you set it up, but after that the Zeppelin goes to sleep and you cannot get the power to turn back on - not manually or the by hitting the reset button at the back. You have to re-program the whole system - so basically this is just a docking system. We did as much research on this product as possible, we were looking forward to adding it to the home sound system, but this is not what is advertised - very disappointed.

    Good speakers, but doesn't work with iPhone 4S AirPlay!

    The Zeppelin is an excellent speaker set, but it doesn't work with iPhone 4s via AirPlay (check the support forums). Most unfortunately there is no statement from B&W and they do not show any reaction on emails to their support. Very disappointing service for a product in this price range!

    Keeps logging off my network

    The unit sounds amazing, when it works.
    Keeps dropping airplay very frequently. Have a timecapsule wireless router. never have an issue with it, have AppleTV, 2 MBpros and a 2011 Mini. Not once have i had a network drop.

    Only way to fix the Zepp is to power cycle the device. I am going to return and try a new unit, maybe i pick dup a lemon. Did the newest firmware update, issue still persists.

    B&W needs to address this issue, this is unacceptable.

    DO NOT BUY THIS THING!

    I purchased a Zeppelin Air two weeks ago and I was totally embarresd.

    When you set it up, it must stay connected to your network, but it didn't. I always got disconnected. I went online to see what the problem is and I noticed so many people have the same problem.

    Bowers & Wilkins told me to update the firware. When I did it didn't help at all.

    Finally I returned this thingie to apple store and got rid of it!

    Wireless disconnecting!

    Terrible connection issues! The unit sounds great but if you prefer to connect via the home network then forget it, this thing is rubbish!. I cant find a fix anywhere for it so it's going back. This thing costs £500.00 here in the UK. I think I'll go for the Bose instead. Hugely disappointed with the wireless facility :-(

    Wireless and firmware issues with Zeppelin Air

    From the get-go, unable to connect wirelessly to my router using any of the three methods provided in the online manual (but not the one it came packaged with), or to install the firmware update (getting "no device present" in Windows 7 32-bit). The progress before failure using each connection method varies by attempt. Googled it to find that these are problems experienced by other users too, given which you'd expect the website and the instruction manual to have something a tad more enlightening to say than "check your password" or "reconnect power and try again". E-mailed B&W's support, who mailed back promising a 3-day response. Not promising.

    Long story short, sound great, but Airplay is so broken that if the unit goes to sleep you'll have to reset the device and reinstall all the airplay setting.

    This happens every stinking day, and the manufacturer is so dishonest they refuse to even acknowledge the problem.

    Completely Frustrated and Dissapointed

    This unit did not work out of the box after setting up the air play on a wirelessG router with 128bit encryption. Furthermore hooking up an iphone4s to unit plays for a couple of minutes and then turns off. The red light flashes, unit has to be unplugged and powered up again.

    This is no better than an expensive and ugly recharger. The sound, when it can be heard is awesome for mp3 player. All details are clear and balanced bass is deep. I put in a support request to B&W and hope to get some help because the web site support does not say enough. Furthermore the video is so lame. I'm from a computer engineering background and should be able to get through all the manuals to setup unit easily but this unit just doesn't work well. It is a dissapointment.

    A Nightmare

    Not a novice with setting up audio and computers. Have A+ certification on Operating systems and Hardware.......I say this because....During setup, had numerous errors and problems....sometimes worked, other-times didn't...Called B&W....they gave me completely different instructions to setup different than instructions with unit..Finally unit stopped working and B&W told me to return because it seemed a defective unit......LOTS of other websites where people are having same issues....I spent 6-7 hours a day for 3 days before giving up.
    I must say B&W speakers are some(if not) of the best you can buy anywhere...totally top of the line....but the Zepp air is a product that shouldnt be at market....buyer beware

    Cant get the darn thing to Pair - period

    This is tremendously frustrating since I bought it online (US Military living overseas) so it is impossible to return, can not get the system to pair with my Apple desktop, the Led keeps blinking and will not go solid as advertised, what an enormous waste of money - I would tell you how great the sound is if I could hear it!

    Rubbish and Frustrating.

    Zeppelin and Airplay dont work.Just use as an docking station now as exhausted many hours of my life with airplay and itunes over and over again.Resetting, resetting.
    An expensive docking station at $1000 bought from Powerstore last year. Wasnt aware of this fault until too late. Wish we had never wasted so much money. It is very stressful. At this moment right now .. no airplay which means again I will have to start from scratch and reset everthing. I tunes never show the airplay icon only when it feels like it. Just hit and miss.Technology gone wrong. bring back the oldfashed swith it on and it will work. !!! hahah

    Four replacements and still no airplay

    Beautiful product but frustrating beyond belief. After 2 complete non-starters the latest two play a docked iPhone but refuse to entertain the idea of wireless connectivity. This is not helped by 3 differing sets of instructions available from B&W's own website, all offering conflicting advice. After one failed setup the product will not even reset so no obvious means of resolution. Product will be being returned (again) to await a substantial update.

    Awful, awful connectivity issue

    I've had the Zeppelin Air for over a year. I have it sitting on top of a bookcase where it's out of the way, and pretty much out of sight. It sounds good, but I cannot tell you how many times I have had to get a ladder to take the Zeppelin down and reboot the system because it loses connection constantly. It got to the point where I moved the speaker next to my computer so I more easily hook up the cables and do another reboot.

    It lost connectivity last week, and I haven't rebooted. I'm sick of having to fix the problem. For what I paid for this, I'm kicking myself.

    iPad helps

    Connection via PC doesn't work. Setting it up via the Safari Browser on my iPad worked well. Nevertheless for no obvious reason the Zeppelin loses the connection to the network. Than I have to reset it and reconfigure it.

    No way to get WiFI connection and firmware upgrades

    Bowers & Wilkins knows how to handle sound, but not computers!
    This thing is not connecting to Wifi and is not even loading firmware updates (looks like the Zeppelin Driver DFU is not present (on Windows 7).
    Blimey! And B&W says that if something is wrong must be my password.
    I will return the unit if B&W don't give me soon a fix
    !

    Dont buy, spent more than two hours to set up.

    I tried to set up more than two hours and it still blink yellow. (it means check my cable connection What!!!)
    I did upgrade firmware everytrhing, and i gave up. Watched all the youtube and book, and internet resources and fiannyl give up.
