    Good Stand

    • Written by from SALT LAKE CITY

I looked at and tried out a number of stands for my MBP and this is my favorite. Its the perfect height, looks nice and definitely helps the laptop stay cooler. There is some overhang between edge of the laptop support and the front edge of the base so you can push your keyboard back a little further or keep the laptop closer. It is not stable enough to type on the MBP with, you'll definitely need to use an external keyboard. It's a little bit on the expensive side but it's only 3 pieces and I like the way it looks. I would absolutely recommend this.

The best option for my setup.

    • Written by from Portland

Most laptop stands raise the display by 6-7", and that was too high for me. This stand only raises the display by 4.25", which is perfect.

Some people have mentioned the stand is too wobbly to type on ... that's true, but I don't know why you'd want to type on your laptop when it's raised several inches off your desk. This is designed to be used with an external keyboard.

The stand looks nice and matches my MacBook Pro's finish, although with the laptop on the stand you barely see the stand at all. One note is that the stand seems to place the laptop at more of an angle in the photos, but the laptop actually sits almost flat. This might be a design update, because earlier reviews mentioned the laptop slipping off. I don't know how that could happen with the stand I received.

    My MacBook Pro Slips Off

    • Written by from Berkeley

Am I missing something? This stand doesn't work. I have the 15" MacBook Pro and a stand alone keyboard that I use to type on, so I have no issues with wobble. My issue is that my machine slips off of the stand!

The rubber grip is not much of a grip at all—it's actually kind of slick. The laptop sits on it fine for several days, then, out of the blue, it will come sliding off and crash down onto my desk. NOT COOL!

I've resorted to wrapping packing tape around the top of the stand to give it a better grip and that works—for awhile.

I do not recommend this product.

    A Solid Stand and Buy

    • Written by from El Cajon

This stand is an excellent, solid accessory to raise your laptop to a higher viewing level which make it more comfortable to work on. Because of the laptop being raised, definitely use a standard keyboard and mouse for easier operation. The physical look and finish is perfect match for my MBP.

Only drawback is the height is fixed. If it was adjustable, I'd give it 5 stars.

Keeps the laptop cooler based on the processing functions. I love the fact that I can use it like "dual" monitors. Huge +.

Works fine as described (Great Product)

    • Written by from airdrie

I bought this stand for my Mac Book Pro 13". i was having neck ache from looking down all the time whilst using it on a desk. This stand now raises the screen to a more acceptable level for long term use. Keep in mind you will have to buy a separate keyboard and mouse, as this stand is not designed to be used for typing (It moves around when typing) Fit and finish are excellent, it looks like this was made from the same aluminum that the laptop was made from. I would definitely recommend this if you use your laptop for extended periods, a great buy.

    Terrible Product

    • Written by from Richmond Hill

I recently purchased this product at my local Apple Store. I read reviews about this product and apparently it's supposed act as a heat sink to avoid having to use the fan on my MacBook Air. But as soon as I watched a video, the fan actually became worse and my MacBook was heating up more than before I had this stand.

It also is not sturdy at all. It feels very wobbly and shaky. It is almost impossible to type on your keyboard. The only thing that is making it stay in place is a little rubber piece that you attach to booth pieces on the stand. I highly recommend you do not buy this. An alternative is the Rain Design Mstand, which is one solid piece of aluminum.

    Couldn't Be Happier

    • Written by from CENTER POINT

I'm very satisfied with this stand. It does just want you want it to do. It's a very solid and well-built stand. It has put my computer at a very comfortable and enjoyable level. It comes in three pieces which makes it easier for travel. I've taken it apart many times and it hasn't shown any signs of wear. It's built with very solid pieces. The cooling center hole is just icing on the cake. It has rubber on both it's feet and and on the surface touching the computer which ensures no scratching and zero movement. The point of having a stand is to improve your comfort level. So obviously you wouldn't be typing on the machine itself. A separate keyboard and mouse is essential and I thought it was a given... I was wanting to get the mStand but this changed my mind. Both are very solid products but I'll be using this one for the long haul.

does a great job, but theres a caveat..

    • Written by from Fresno

great product for me, but you might hate it. let me list the pros/cons why

    1. perfect height/angle for my desk and probably for most peoples desks. seriously, i love using my mbp even more now.
    2. keeps laptop cooler, obviously
    3. while it doesnt look as nice as the bookarc, at least you can use dual monitors with it. big pro here

    1. serious typing cant be done without an external keyboard, it is just too wobbly for typing on just the mpb.

probably the best stand if you have external keyboard/trackpad, stay far away if you don't have or want to use them.

    Just get an mStand instead...

    • Written by from San Francisco

The flat shelf surface causes the laptop to still occupy as much of your desk as if it were not on a stand at all. The corners of your laptop will be uncomfortably close to you if the stand is placed next to a Cinema Display and you have the screens aligned. The flimsy two-piece-plus-plastic-shim construction means this stand wobbles up and down with the slightest effort. The Rain Design mStand solves these problems with its angled shelf and incredibly solid single-piece plate aluminum construction. Only consider this stand if for some reason you absolutely require the ability to disassemble it for more compact storage.

    Overpriced, but a good product

    • Written by from Sherman Oaks

Okay, I think paying $60 for a stand I don't really need to be annoying, but I'll be darned if this product didn't literally pull me back to the Apple store to buy it. Built to hold the MacBook Pro screen at exactly the same height as an Apple LED Cinema Display, it allows me to have a dual screen setup that doesn't cause me to tilt my head constantly. Is that worth $60? Probably not. But I really, really like it.

Also, the design of the stand allows the bottom of the laptop to vent and remain cooler, which is a huge plus.
