    Great product!

    • Written by from Bossier City

Been an Apple lover for a few years, but only just recently (past 8 months) discovered this GRRRRRREAT company, Twelve South.
This MagicWand works great. I just ordered mine, after having "test-driven" one owned by a friend. I read the reviews online, and was astonished that people expected a piece of metal for $30.00.
As for me, I wouldn't want metal touching my Apple wireless keyboard and track pad. I understand that this is a matter of preference. However, I have owned a lot of Apple products in the past 10 years (*ALL* versions of the iPhone, a couple of iPads, numerous iPods, an iMac and a MacBook Air), and the thought of metal on my Apple products, to me, is akin to the sound of fingernails on a chalk board.
If it will help the next buyer behind me, this product is made of polycarbonate. Yes, YES! People have said the word "polycarbonate" simply means "plastic". Ok, I get that. But can I tell you that my MacBook Air is made of the same material? (And I paid well over $1,300 for mine!)

    Must get!

I love this! Instead of having to move around 3 things, it's only 2. Keyboard with trackpad and my mouse. Definitely should be added to the desktop setup.

    Almost apple grade great product!

I was quite discouraged by some of the negative comments initially. But after a few day having my two hands busy all the time dealing both the keyboard and touchpad, I decided to try it out.

Yes, it is plastic and a bit over priced. But it works. Installation is nice and easy, takes me 45 seconds to put them together, sizing is perfect, aligned with both ends perfectly. if I have to complain, the soft T-pad should be coloured in silver (same as the H beam) so it could be blended in, right now it is light grey and quite visible.

    Anyway, I am very pleased.

This product is great! I really can't imagine not having it...it's sturdy and does what is supposed to do!

It might sound a little pricey for a piece of plastic but it's really worth it!

    Great addition

This is exactly what I needed for the keyboard/trackpad. I am not sure why others complain about the inability to use the pad click. This feature works just fine and there has been no compromise on either item with all of the Magic Wand connections in place. It works great. Well worth the purchase if you want the two stuck together.

Works perfectly with the bluetooth keyboard and magic track pad!

Very clean look and the Apple components fit perfectly. I like everything Twelve South makes so perhaps I'm biased, but this product does exactly what it's intended to do and look slick!

LOVING Mine... Confused by the reviews

    • Written by from Aston

I think the ease & simplicity of the wand is what is causing all the user related errors I'm reading about in these reviews. I've had mine for a while now and have experienced NONE of the above mentioned issues. As anyone who is reading these can tell about 50% are not able to use the item correctly and the other 50% love it. The product is great, a little over priced, but us Apple users are well accustomed to that. If you are considering this purchase DEFINITELY buy it and if you can't seem it have it function as expected then return it, but it seems pretty obvious to me all of the complaints above are nothing more then user error. Great device!!!

    Perfect for an HTPC

    • Written by from Edmonton

I use it all the time on the couch, it truly makes the keyboard and magic trackpad into one like they should be. Very rigid, feels like they were manufactured as one piece. No complaints at all.

For those complaining about the fact that the power button on one peripheral is hidden, a couple points:

    1. Twelve South, the makers of this product can't change the placement of the power button on Apple peripherals so don't bother rating them down for it.
    2. My keyboard power button is hidden and I've only had to hit it once in 3+ months I've been using this setup, when I left my mac off for a couple weeks. Usually the keyboard goes to sleep and wakes with a single key press.
    3. You DON'T have to take the assembly apart to hit the hidden power button. The gap between the keyboard and magic track pad is large enough to stick a dime or key into to hit the power button. The only thing covering that gap is a little rubber insert that's easily removable.

Perfect for use with a HTPC

    • Written by from SAINT LOUIS

I use this for couch-surfing with my TV-connected Mac mini. I tried a few other devices before this (wired keyboard, Adesso Slimtouch, etc) but they all came up short. This is a perfect solution. The MagicWand is exactly as advertised: simple and effective. I have not had any problems with the power-button issue, as the keyboard/trackpad have excellent power-management.

    Simple, yet fantastic!

    • Written by from Prairieville

I LOVE my Magic Trackpad, however, I rarely used it. When it was just loose on my desk, if I was going to reach for a pointing device, it just seemed easier to grab the mouse.

The Magic Wand was very simple to install and now my Magic Trackpad is an integral part of my keyboard. My only complaint is that I had to purchase it in the first place! It should be included with the trackpad!

Seriously, this little device has helped me get full utility out of my Magic Trackpad and it blends in with the keyboard in such a way that I never even know it's there. It all feels like a single unit. Do yourself a favor and try it!

    Love the MagicWand

    • Written by from Grants Pass

Seemed like a lot of $$ to pay for such a small little item, but it works so well that it really is worth it. I work on a lapdesk and my keyboard and magic pad will always sliding around or not in a convenient location. Now they are stable, stay where they are put and so much more convenient. Very glad I bought this! I reallly can't see any negatives other than it is a little difficult to take apart to change the batteries on the one unit where the battery hatch is not exposed. For me, I put the pad to the right of my keyboard, so the magic pad is the one with the hidden battery hatch.

This a perfect solution for the keyboard + magic mouse. I have been looking for something like this ever since the mahic trackpad came out. The connection is very stable. The only issue you may find is that you can't click the trackpad unless it's on a hard surface, you have to set it up in tap mode.
