if your sound is fuzzy, it's connecting 'mono' not stereo. click disconnect when prompted and it will ask again if you wan to connect in stereo. stereo sound amazing, mono sounds like complete garbage.

min will not charge though, i just got it yesterday, guess I'll go back tomorrow and trade it in, wish me luck.

Pretty good but with a few problems.

I like my Jambox overall. It has a pretty good sound overall and works as promised.

However, there are a few issues. One is that updating the software via the website is too difficult. It's odd to install software that needs to be open and then visit a website -- why not just have the software itself update the firmware?

A bigger issue is that pairing isn't as easy as it should be. When I bought this I thought it used AirPlay -- it does not -- only bluetooth (or a direct wire). The bluetooth drops quite frequently -- and then I have to do a complete bluetooth / power cycle. It's quite annoying to deal with this as often as it happens.

Also, the system sounds are a bit over the top. At first I thought it was kind of fun, but now I just think they are way too loud.

I'm still pretty happy with my purchase, but there are quite a few improvements they could make.

    didn't connect automatically very well

I might have been doing something wrong but it wouldn't connect right away or at all automatically. I like the look of it a lot and the sound is decent. Again, like others have said, I didn't mean to replace my home stereo with it, just free up the clutter that wires create. I love the material that it is made out of and all around I will stick with it.

    Quality build poor execution

I want to love this product, but I just can't. It has wonderful potential because of all the bells and whistles it has built into it, but it fails short of it's primary goal as conference call box and wireless speaker. It fails as a conference all box because the mic SUUUUCKS and the speakers in general or just ok.

Mediocre music - below par as a speaker phone

We bought this unit to be used mainly as a speaker phone for conference calls. We yet have to complete one single call where the other party wasn't complaining about bad sound quality at their end, so much so that we frequently disconnected the jambox and just handed the iPhone around and relied on the built in phone speaker.

As a speaker the jambox works just about ok. Sound has no depth, works better for voice than music.

Decent Speaker - Over priced IMO

There are a lot of bells and whistles with this speaker. And it does exactly what I need. I wanted to enhance the sound using a portable speaker(s). Since most of what I use for is streaming sports, this works great. But for music - save your dollars.

Pros- Pairs easily, decent voice sound, portable.

    Cons: PRICE, music sound,

If you are like me and just want something to boost the sound level from the iPad speaker, this unit is good. At $99 I would give 5 stars and highly recommend. at $199, there maybe better options out there (I did not find).

    Disappointing

In theory, this little device is all that. However, in reality it leaves much to be desired. I will start by stating that I didn't expect these little speakers to compare to a full sound system. I did expect more than what they delivered. The Bose Wave radio comes to mind when I think of big sound coming from a small unit. It CAN be done. Just not with this product. On all my devices. especially the iPad and Macbook, I preferred the built in speaker sound quality to the Jambox. At full volume (which is necessary to get any kind of volume out of it), I found all types of music I played to have distortion, almost as if playing through blown speakers and it still wasn't loud enough to listen to in anything but the quietest room.

Pros: Connected to iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Macbook Air seamlessly via bluetooth. Elegant and sturdy construction. Fashionable colors.
Cons: Faint and distorted sound. Too expensive for less than adequate performance.

    Very portable, very low quality.

Well, I got this and it seemed pretty cool its extremely portable. Its great for carrying it around for a quick listen to a song.

Although unfortunately my Macbook (black late 2008), has better audio output than this thing. It sounds pretty solid at lower volumes when you start to bring up the volume on higher pitched notes it makes a ringing sound, as if someone was dropping alot of glass and metal on a concrete floor.

Sort of upset at that, and for 200 bucks, should of went for the Beats by Dre.

If you are considering this product, the most important thing to do (as with any product, I suppose) is to ignore the manufacturer's overblown hyperbole. This is a very small speaker, so there is no "earth-shaking bass," and not a lot of "room-filling sound." For a wireless speaker that's compact and portable enough to carry anywhere, though, the sound is better than you might expect. As long as you are expecting the sound of a compact portable speaker. It does have a driver inside that makes the unit vibrate with the low notes, but there simply isn't enough speaker area to move enough air to create deep bass notes that you can hear (louder volumes do provide more fidelity than quieter ones). There is one, serious, major complaint that is almost a deal-breaker: start-up, Bluetooth pairing, and shutdown are accompanied by tone and voice prompts that are OBNOXIOUSLY LOUD. If you need to turn this thing on or off in a quiet place, where you also need to be quiet, forget about it. Even covering the speakers won't shut it up. Overall, it's a pretty good product, but whether it's worth two hundred bucks will depend entirely upon how much money you have to toss around.

    Portable...yes. Great product...no.

This is surely a cool item. Super-portable, wireless, and good range. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but the high end sound quality is certainly lacking, and the speaker phone is sub-par at best. I've tried the speaker phone a number of times with little success. When sitting 3 feet from the Jambox, all of the callers have said "I can't really hear you very well", and I have ended up switching to the handset. Certainly expected a bit more from Jawbone.

Though the bass from the speakers is somewhat astounding(it will literally move the Jambox), the higher end frequencies sound metallic and distorted....even at moderate volume.

Upside: Bluetooth range is great. Very portable and comes with well designed collapsable case. Easy sync with all of my devices...iPod, iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.

I got this on the Black Friday sale and paid $150 for it. I don't feel cheated perse, but disappointed. There are many speaker systems and headphones out there for the normal $200 price tag that I would invest in before the Jambox. I get the feeling that this is the first generation of a product that will see tremendous improvement in future generations. So I would wait.
