When I bought my iPhone and found it came with a headset I was happy. But after a year I wondered why others used different headsets and thought that all headsets were all the same. And then when I found out that some cost more than others I got interested to find out why. I tried my old blackberry RIM earbuds and noticed they were superior over the iPhone standard set. Then I gravitated towards BOSE as this was a brand I knew well. It was the most comfortable set but lacked sound quality and didn't have a noise cancelling feature so I immdiately returned it. The guy at the apple store told me to get the Klipsch and said it's one of the best. He wasn't lying. It blows away the BOSE and it's super clear! I can hear things that I didn't even know were in the song. But be careful, the high volumne is loud and can be a bit straining on your ears after a long period of use. I can hear everything on the call when I'm on the train, too. I don't know how this set compares to the $400 or $1,100 sets but for $99 it's exceptional. I'm not going to be returning this set at all.

I originally bought these because I wanted a good solution for hands free phone conversations (still haven't found one yet). While the mic on these earphones appears to be better than most, I still have complaints from people not being able to hear me clearly.

That said, the surprise on these was the sound. It's full, rich and extremely dynamic. If I'm not on a plane or in a loud environment, the sound quality on these earphones compares favorably with my Bose QC-15s. (caveat - I tend to favor a bright treble-heavy sound as opposed to a thick bass)

Finally, the wide range of ear-tip shapes means your sure to find a set that fits right.

These earphones are the best that I have ever used. The bass-heavy hip-hop songs feel and sound unbelievable. Rock songs also sound great. The only problem I had with these is the plastic casing near the earbuds split on BOTH of mine. Other than that, these are a MUST-BUY

had these for less than a year and my biggest complaint is the poor craftsmanship. cheap cable housing detached from the base of the 1/8th inch jacket and is now exposing wires that have effected the otherwise amazing sound. the ear molds constantly fall off the earbuds and the protective cabling around the earbud has torn apart as well.

i switched from Shure to Klipsch because of the sound quality, which is actually a little more warm and bottom heavy. the Shures seemed a bit less colorful in sound.

in conclusion, i'd pass on these since they just don't hold up in quality to Shures or Etymotics.

I'm a little shocked no one has reviewed these yet. I've had them for about a year now and these have been my favorite headphones to use. Amazingly crisp clear highs with solid bass. For the price, there is not a better set of ear buds out there. Make sure you take a close look at these before purchasing anything else.
