    Excellent value, very comfortable

The Image S4i has excellent sound - reasonable bass, and good mids with maybe a bit of lacking for the high frequency range (adequate though). I was looking for some reasonably priced and comfortable earphones with great sound and iPhone controls (for iPhone 4), and this does the job very well. So much better for commute - I can actually hear the words people speak in a TV show while I'm on a very noisy bus ride to work, without having to turn the volume up fully. The outside noise is very nicely blocked, and so far I barely notice that my headphones are in (apart from the fact that I can't hear anything else).

    disappointing

I bought these not knowing what to expect. I had previously owned the bose in-ear model (first version) and these were replacing those.

When I put the buds in my ears, they were perfectly comfortable. When I played music, they sounded good, not great. I did notice some highs in the song that I was demo-ing them on that I hadn't heard before, so I thought that was good. Bass was unimpressive. Construction was disappointing because the cord felt cheap and insubstantial at best.

When I got home, I did a side-by-side comparison of them with my cheap ($25) Sony headphones. The Sony's sounded almost exactly the same, with the exception of the bass, which was slightly better. So, I figured why should I keep these $90 pair when I have a superior pair that are less expensive. I returned them earlier today.

I purchased these earphones with the recommendation of the Apple store employee. When I first bought them, I was quite happy with the microphone portion. Seemed to pick up everything I said. The remote to control the iPhone 4 worked intermittently shortly after I purchased them. The sound quality to me is the same as from much less expensive earbuds.

    Not compatible with iPhone 3GS

The sound quality is near perfection; best sound I have ever heard in a "bud" earphone; however, the remote isn't compatible with the 3GS phone. Plus, when I moved the jack back and forth (which did fit snug) it momentarily muted and adjusted the sound up and down repeadetly.

    Great Sound

They are slightly bass heavy or it could just be that the sound is so rich compared to my regular iphone headphones. The sound is great overall and definitely worth the money.

    Quite good, with caveat

The noise isolation is quite helpful on the NYC subway.

The only problem is how snugly the jack fits into the iPhone-- pulling it out has, over time, resulted in wear to the connection of the jack to the wiring. This is after a year and a half, however. Just sayin.

These are without question the best set of earphones I have ever owned. The sound is incredible and you can hear clearly across the full sound spectrum. The noise isolation is great too. These earphones worked perfectly even after accidentally going through the washing machine and dryer - not a test I would recommend ;) however. Very impressed.

first of all, great sounding headphones for what it costs. secondly, great design and fits well. thirdly, and i'm not kidding, i left these in my pant pocket once and ran it through the wash and dry; i panicked when i found them, and then surprised myself to find that they worked as usual. how's that for quality build ?

I like the sound quality but....

So I have had a pair of these headphones since April 2010. First of all I like the sound quality a lot, there is pretty reasonable bass for earbuds, the highs are also decent. Secondly the inline mic and remote is quite handy. Then there is the bad, so just today I requested my second RMA. They tend to work fine for 6 months and then all of the sudden I will be out for a run or whatever and they start randomly turning on voice control, stopping starting tracks, speeding up the music (this one really confuses me).

All I have to say is thank god for the 2 year warrantee, just plan on not having your headphones for 3 months a year dealing with RMA issues.

I am not a review writer, but so impressed that these earphones still work after I negligently put them in with a load of clothes, that I am a Klipsch customer for life! Unfortunately lost S5i on a trip, but will be stocking up with Klipsch earphones which make for flawless business calls from SKYPE on Mac laptops, droid phones; and quality listening to audio apps.

Good sound quality and comfort. A little bit overpriced.

    Pros:
The sound quality on these headsets is very good.
The sound is clear and rich.
They are very comfortable, it was easy to find a good fit.
The mic works pretty well with my iphone 4. The mic buttons are responsive and easy to use.

    Cons:
The bass is kind of too rich (too much bass) for my taste. I solved this by using the "bass reducer" EQ on my iphone 4 settings.
In the design department there is no fashion statement here. The material used seems to be generic and I personally do not find them aesthetically desirable.
For $100 I would expect a better design and higher quality materials.

Read below to have an idea how these compare to the Apple in-ear, and the popular Skullcandy 50/50

    Klipsch S4i

Sound quality: 4 (out of 5)
    Design: 3
    Expected durability: 3
    Comfort: 4

    Apple in ear head phones:

    Sound quality: 3.5
    Design: 4
    Durability: 2
    Comfort: 4

    Skullcandy 50/50

    Sound quality: 2
    Design: 2
    Expected durability: 2
    Comfort: 2

In the end I am very pleased with them.

    Good but not great

I read the reviews in magazines and thought I would give them a try. Sound is good, not too much better than a Sony pair I was replacing. The earbuds don't fit snug enough to keep them firmly in place while exercising. They did work great on a recent trip where they greatly reduced the airplane noise.

Had, used and broke Beats Tour before these. These are BETTER. Richer sound and very good fit. Also more compact and have more user-friendly remote than Shure 115+.
One disclaimer: people have spoken to the lack of durability in these headphones. I suspect this is because, like so many people I see at the gym these days, they decide to run, jump, bike, squat, and bend in their $100 headphones. It is pretty obvious in looking at them in the store that they are made to be compact and light in-ear headphones. If you don't abuse them, they will hold up fine.
I might play with the equalizer on my Ipod a little as well. They play a little heavy on the bass out of the box in my opinion. Enjoy. They're a great value.

These earphones are great sounding BUT I'll be returning them since they do not work with my iPhone 3GS. None of the other reviews mentioned phone compatibility issues to be able to compare with. Too bad they didn't work for me because I really like the earphones.

These headphones are awesome. They are deffinatly worth the price. I originally bought ibeats, but they are just a fashion icon. If your looking for good headphones. I like how these headphones actually fit in my ear and I can hear the sound crisply and clearly. This is the way to go!

Music is very deep and rich with these earbuds. Bass is great but not too overbearing. You hear smaller details in music using these much more so than you do with the Apple offerings. These blow away my Zagg buds and Apple in-ear's. For their performance they are a steal at 100 dollars.
