    Could be more resistant

    • Written by from New York

It has the best sound ever, but it's not really resistant. The wire is starting to smash in less that a year of use.

    Awesome earbuds!!

    • Written by from Woodstock

I just pulled these out of the box and used them for a conference call on my cell phone (btw ... they also work with Blackberry Bold). The sound clarity and quality is fantastic and they are so comfortable that you don't even realize your wearing them ... the standard size "grips" that came on them fit me perfectly. I didn't give them 5 stars because I think the cord needs to be just a little bit longer. But, I honestly don't know how you could top the sound quality and clarity. I've owned numerous in-ear headsets and these are, by far, the best I've tried.

    Not Bad

    • Written by from APO

For this price they can be better. However, the Bose name is what makes it pricey.
The mic and remote control are pretty good. I heard complaints on not being noise canceling. These headphones are mobile headphones, I run with these and I do want to hear whats around me as well. It its contrary to have noise canceling mobile headphones. I gave these four stars, the price is why I don't give this five stars.

    Best headphones I've tried yet

    • Written by from Anchorage

Pros: balanced sound, comfortable fit, good controls. Unlike in ear headphones with pinhole openings these sound great all the time where others get better or worse as you move them around. They are a bit tricky to put in at first but they sound great. Mic is actually near your mouth rather than way down at the Y like most -so u don,t have to hold the mic up to be heard. Also own the highly rated klipsch S4i (they are c7@p by comparison) so glad I got these to replace them.
Cons: plug is a very tight fit if u are using an apple bumper case - but it will fit. The included case is 4 times bigger than it needs to be which makes it useless for carrying them around in your pocket. So um yeah - had to really dig for the cons....

    Ahhhh.... finally!

    • Written by from Erie

Because of the shape of my ears, the Apple ear buds never stay put (AT ALL) in my ears. And, after wearing them for extended periods they hurt my ears. The sound is okay, but I'm used to my Bose noise-cancelling headphones and Definitive Technology speakers.

I hesitated buying these because of the price, but figured why not give them a try. WOW. If you are ready to step up to a really good set of earbuds, give them a shot!

    1. These buds are so comfortable you hardly even know they are in.
    2. They stay put. Period. No slipping at all.
    3. The sound is crystal clear. The bass obviously isn't that deep since they are earbuds but it is clean and firm. The mids and highs are fantastic. I hear things in songs I've never heard before.

    1. They are a bit more difficult to get in and out but that is more than offset by how well they fit and stay put.
    2. As is true with all Bose products you pay a little more for the Bose name.

Finally found great set of headphones!!!

    • Written by from Brooklyn

After returning like 5 different pairs of headphones ranging in price from 49.95 up to 129.99, I have finally found a set of headphones I liked.
I came from really enjoying the Klipsche S4i In Ear headset, which sounded fantastic! However, after extended periods of time, the in-ears felt a bit uncomfortable. Also the build quality lacked any longevity beyond 6-8 months. So when the time came I went on a mission to find the right headphones.
After a few trials, including the Apple Premium In-Ears, and being very resistent to Bose headphones, because I did not like how the over the ears sounded, I decided to take a chance, only because I saw such great reviews, and you see a lot of people wearing them.

Well...much to my surprise...they sounded fantastic! The highs, lows and mids are well balanced, and should suit any listener ranging from all tastes, across the board. I like the bass response on these. These are headphones where you actually pleasantly feel the subtlety of the bass as opposed to hearing the bass. The mids and highs are just right for a very comfortable listen.
Also they feel quit comfortable in your ears, regardless of what they may look like. you can barely feel them.

My only complaint would be that they don't provide a noise canceling seal, so you tend to pick up outside noise, which can be a bummer sometimes. However the acoustics are so good on these, that they tend to keep the music as the majority in your ear, so it's not too bad. It would be nice to have a noise canceling version of these, someday. Unless they're supposed to be already, and my ears just don't fit.

But overall...I HIGHLY recommend these. Give them a try...I think you'll like them

I use these all the time. The sound quality is amazing for the price, and they are much more durable than the Apple headphones. I went through a total of four Apple headphones before deciding to spend the extra money for these.

The only downside is that I find that the Apple headphones have a better microphone and pick up my voice a little better through all the ambient noise. They aren't much better than these though.

Stand out sound, don't fit everyone

    • Written by from squamish

    Best in-ear sound quality I've heard to-date.
Better base response than the apple in-ear ear-buds.

Unfortunately they hurt my ears after about 30 min so I had to give them to a family member because I couldn't use them.

These speakers do not go as loud as I would like. However they produce a full range of sound at a very comfortable level. When I am using them I can not even feel them in my ears. Way more ergonomically correct then any other earbuds. And the sound blows away the B&W's for $50 less.

Very comfortable, but the cord is ugly

    • Written by from Toronto

This pair of headphones is very comfortable and fits nicely into the ears. Unlike other earphones, this pair doesn't drop out of your ears no matter how you move. It also requires no periodical adjustments and will stay nicely for a long time.

The inline control works great on the iPhone and MacBook Pro and is very accessible. Microphone also works well without requiring one to hold it near the mouth to get better voice quality during a conversation.

The only reason I'm giving this product a 4-star is because of the cord. It would look much better and fit better with the style of the iProducts if it's all black or all white, but not like how it is now.

Overall, this is money well spent. It works as advertised and pleases me with the very comfortable "StayHear" tips. It would be a 5-star product had the cord looked nicer.

    Great Headset, Worth Your Money

    • Written by from piedmont

Pros: Great Sound, Great Bass, includes a luxurious leather storing case, The Stay - on ear tips are not just what the name states. You can listen to willow smith and whip your hair back and forth as you wish and never will these fall out of your ears.
Cons: Noise Reduction is not the best. These are not Noise Reduction headphones to even start with. But don't let this fool you into not buying them. The cable can tangle.

Bose has done it again, great pair of earphones, I was well pleased. Hope this can help

I have tried several in-ear headphone in this price range, and one considerably above- and I have found the MIE2i to be superior in most ways. The sound is very nice- I would only caution that you may find you have to raise the sound level a bit if you are used to ear canal type headphones. These are not sound isolating. I cannot comment yet on the build quality since I have been using them for only a couple of weeks. So far they seem sturdy, stay put in my ears, and sound great.

    Clarity is great!

    • Written by from Chicago

Just bought these, so still haven't given them enough time to "break in" (as they sound better after 30/40 hours of use.

BUT, the clarity is great. I could use a little more bass, but can live with what they deliver. BECAUSE, I have never tried a pair of earphone on that fit the ear so well. The engineers at BOSE got something right. As these earbuds sorta just "float" within your ears and don't come out. I work out a lot and they have yet to fall out when moving fast or shaken my head a lot.

So far so good and very happy with them.

    Bose MIE2i Review

    • Written by from Palatine

The sound quality is an improvement over the original TriPort in-ear headphones and the mic does a superb job in voice quality as well as blocking out surrounding noise. Plus the mic controls are a great convenience when I'm using these while working out.

    Great sound, okay fit

    • Written by from Rochester

These headphones have impeccable sound. Unlike other reviews I haven't had any issues with the quality of the microphone. I do, however, find that even the small earphone covers are a bit too big for my ears. They're not intolerable but I could have used a smaller size. Overall, a wonderful product and well worth the money.

Incredible - nothing like Bose loudspeakers

    • Written by from Madison

Having owned and regretted Bose systems for home theater and car audio, I was skeptical of the MIE2i headset. But I was also intrigued by the overwhelmingly positive reviews these have received, and I can comfirm those are not exaggerations. The sound is excellent for this price point, mostly balanced with subtly increased bass and treble. The controls work flawlessly, as does the microphone. The fit, once the correct eartips are fitted and the user gets used to them, is secure and comfortable. The cords are quite stout.

Note that these are not noise "isolating" earphones. They are a more "open" design, which is perfect for use in an office or other relatively quiet location where total isolation from the outside is unwanted. You will hear the music loud and clear, but you'll also hear the phone ring or the boss ask for you.

My only disappointment with these is that the volume on calls is almost too low, relative to other wired headsets at the same volume setting. Other minor nits are the rather silly cord design (black and white swirls), the overly large and plain carrying case, and the lack of an easy way to locate the control button by touch (it lacks any tactile identification). In total, this amounts to a loss of 1 star from the rating.

    Great In-Ear Monitors!

    • Written by from Walled Lake

After having the Dr. Dre Beats taken from my hand by an Apple Store salesman, and replaced with the Bose MIE2i's, I have been nothing less than amazed! I wish I could go back and thank the very nice lady who sensibly placed these in my hands. The sound is amazing. The earbuds are extremely comfortable, and at times I have almost forgotten that I was wearing them. For those saying, "The sound sounds distant" and/or "They aren't loud enough." You have to keep in mind that Bose is not advertising these as "noise canceling" headphones. However, don't let that fool you. These things can certainly block out a noisy street, or a rambunctious 3 year old niece.

With that said, I loves these in-ear monitors, and wouldn't ever dare to trade them for Dr. Dre Beats.

PS. I have an iPhone 4 with the Apple given bumper case, and have had no problem with the Bose MIE2i's fitting. No connection problems or anything. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
