    Excellent Sound but slightly disappointed...

After reading so many good reviews about this earphone, I have decided to give it a try. Firstly, no doubt the sound has very strong bass like everyone commented about. The only downside is the design of the ear bud. For some reason, it just doesn't fit well on my ear... I don't know if other people are experiencing the same problem as me, but the ear bud just doesn't quite go into my ear canal so I can't hear the sound as clear if I don't push it into my ear.

I resolved the problem by replacing the original Bose ear bud with my Sony in-ear ear buds, and immediately I feel much comfortable with it. Even though Bose ear bud looks quite stylish, it prevents the real sound to be heard if not pushed right into your ear canal. Noise can be heard everywhere with the Bose ear bud.. not ideal for those people who prefer some noise cancelling. Stylish design but kind of useless.

If you can do the same as me by replacing the ear bud, you can hear the true bass sound from your music. I won't give it 5/5 like most people.. and I won't say I'm 100% satisfied because I would still prefer my Sony earphone in some ways...

Another con is I find the cable a bit short. It could be better if it is slightly longer for convenience to reach from anywhere I place my iphone in a distance.

I guess it is worth adding to my earphone collection...

    Weak presence

To preface, I have owned the Bose QuietComfort 2's since they came out and love them. I'm not opposed to the Bose sound. I also own or have owned the Etymotic HF2 and 3's, the Bowers and Wilkins P5's, the Apple in-ear headphones, Sure 210's and the Ultimate Ears Superfi 5's. Have also tried to Klipsch s4i's but ultimately didn't keep them because no matter what tip I tried I couldn't get a good seal.

Good: dynamically good when pressed into the ear, seem to anchor firmly to the ear, don't come off with moderately vigorous activity.

Bad: Narrow soundstage. Poor audio presence (very thready sounding) unless pressed into the ear. No seal of the ear canal (given that they are not supposed to occlude the ear completely). Difficult to fit the buds into the ear (vs. foam or other silicone eartips). Earpieces are rather large vs. other in-ear cans.

Conclusion: Was looking for buds to use when it might rain, these are OK, but leak too much outside sound and don't provide the audio quality I would like to see at this price range. Will be returning these (thank you apple store return policy) and ordering the ultimate ears 500i, also considered the 600i's. If those let me down, I'll throw in the towel and buy the Klipsch image x10i's.

These headphones have impeccable sound. Unlike other reviews I haven't had any issues with the quality of the microphone. I do, however, find that even the small earphone covers are a bit too big for my ears. They're not intolerable but I could have used a smaller size. Overall, a wonderful product and well worth the money.

I just replaced the apple in-ear buds (~$90) for these Bose ones. the differnece is unreal.
The apple version always offered what i considered decent sound quality for in-ear style phones, but the MIE2i's destroy them.

The 'stayhear' covers are super comfortable, and after some exhaustive head shaking i am pretty confident in saying they cannot fall out. they dont even budge. I've used them at work for 8+ continuous hours, and they stay comfortable without any soreness. They sit right above the ear canal, so there arent any pressure points to become irritated. The weird 'stayhear' fin is made of a very soft silicone, and nestles into the ear nicely- almost clicking into place.

the sound quality is awesome as well. super crisp, with full bass. the silicone fitting surrounds the mid/high end, and the bass filters in from behind (pictures dont really show the real going-ons). It doesn't have any sort of 'noise reduction', but the volume and fullness of sound drains anything else out.

It also reads as 'iphone compatible' for the mic, though it also works on my blackberry (tohugh the answer/volume controls don't respond). it seems the call quality on the other end is quite good as well.

All in all, they are a great pair of buds. My initial buyers remorse for dropping nearly $200 bucks on in-hear phones disappeared as soon as i heard them in action.

I am among the people that are easily aggravated by headphones, and I have finally been satisfied. The Bose MIE2i headphones have an amazing fit in my ear (plus there are 5 other pairs of earbud tips included so you can find the fit that is perfect for you) and I can't shake them out. They are very comfortable to wear and the controls on the wire are very useful and functional. In terms of performance, these headphones easily outperform the competition. I have never heard better sound from a pair of headphones. I highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking to enjoy their music in peace and comfort.

if you have an iphone and want great sound, then these babies are it. i own the bose quietcomfort 3's and i love those but was skeptical about the mobile kit from their reviews(no in line button control) not much but would like that aspect to it. For a big guy they make your ears sweaty a bit too. Great for home and airplane usage not for long commutes on foot or active usage.
I just got the MIE2i's and i'm impressed. Base and sound is great and they fit perfect without the in-ear feel(you know the ones that feel like they're pressing against your ear canals. I also love the fact that the jack that goes into the iphone is slanted and not straight. i've owned some iphone original headphones and some schosch but they failed before a year because of the big jack that sticks out straight and gets caught in your coat pocket jamming the wire and loosing sound or breaking the cord from the root(which has been the case for many dead headphones) Well done BOSE!

I am really impressed by the comfort of the MIE2i (I own 2 sony's in ear headphones, V-Moda vibrato and some cheap headphones) Bose is my top comfort pair.
I will note + and - by my experience

    +
    great fit and comfort
    good call quality

    -
BAD sound(sound is really flat, neutral)when I use some EQ it makes it little better for different styles of music but for $125 please give me a break !
this is not sports earphones, first time that you got little sweat drop on the cable and mic and volume are off(I send them to bose and they replace it by new pair)I run 3 times a week usually 15 miles total and I can tell you my bose broke after 1 month of use, so if you sport this is not the best choice.

I just got mine 2 days ago, and the sound is great, but no as comfortable as they sell them. After 3 hours of continuos use they start to bother my ears.

Now, I know everybodies ears are diferent, so before buying them make sure you can return them after you tried them, because if you can't return them and you have the same problem as I do, you will have spend big bucks on a headset that you will not resist to use them.

These headphones are amazing! They're like wearing giant over-ear headphones, with great sound quality, but without being so inconvenient! They can go very loud without being uncomfortable, and keeping quality in check. A definite good buy!

I've had these headphones for about six months now, and they work fantastically! The remote control is a godsend, and I haven't heard a set of headphones that come even close to the balance these provide. It's easy to find a set of headphones that give decent bass, but these give stellar bass that is balanced with rich mid tones and crisp treble. These are a must-have for anybody that enjoys listening to music.

I fly regularly for work, and I like to have headphones that let me drown out the background noise of the plane and focus on my music or whatever I'm doing. I wanted to find a model that wasn't exactly noise-canceling because they take up a lot of precious space in my carry-on, but something that was of the same quality. After finding these headphones, I'm done looking! Not only do they help reduce background noise, the Bose quality shines through in clarity and deep rich bass.

These headphones are absolutely amazing! I just happened to be at a Target store tonight, so I picked them up for $99, but after hearing their quality I would have gladly paid the $129 price on the Apple Store. They are well worth the money! Highly recommended!

I purchased several other high quality well known brands before these and I must say these are without a doubt the most comfortable earbuds I have ever worn. You can have them in for hours and not even know your wearing them. The StayHear tips work perfectly just try all three to find the best fit for you. I do a lot of walking so its great that they are not noise isolating as you can be aware of things (like cars) around you, But it does not jepordize the sound quality which I feel is excellent. Vocals are crisp and clear. The build quality is excellent with an angled plug to the thick cable cover, and being able to adjust the volume, change tracks or take a phone call make these Bose mobile in ear Headphones the Ultimate listening experience. I would give them 6 stars if I could

I've bought 2 pairs of these. The 1st pair started losing sound in one of the ear-buds and when I went to the Bose store they told me they couldn't fix it so they replaced them. My 2nd pair, I've used them for less than a year and I have the same problem. I'm going to return them and switch to a better brand b/c this is hella annoying.

Ignore the pessimists with poor attitudes, these earphones rock!

I'm a Bose/B&O guy (basically an audiophile) so when I put 130.00 USD into earphones, I expect my money does not go to waste. For those concerned about the bass, or the lack of, can be reassured that this is only the result of bass-heavy products such as the Beats series, of which I can tell you are not quality audio products (I went out on a limb and purchased the Beats headphones and my eardrums came close to rupturing from the base; too much!).

These earphones, like the Bang & Olufsen EarSet 3i, are not noise canceling, so you will pick up ambient noise, however, do note you do NOT pick up wire distortion. That said, the bass and treble are balanced with the precision Dr. Bose envisions with every Bose product. I can tell you, however, the wire is a bit finicky when it comes to storage. Bose does include a protective leather case, as you can see/read, but if you do not keep the wire in a neatly wrapped state, you will experience tangles here and there.

If you are concerned that 130.00 USD is too much for earphones, I can tell you right now Bose hit the nail on the head. I would expect earphones with such superb sound and build quality to cost roughly 300.00 USD or more. Luckily, Bose did their homework and found the sweet spot.
