    Terrific for cycling

    • Written by from Toronto

    I tried a bunch of earphones out with three requirements in mind. 1: They had to sound good. 2: They couldn't interfere with my glasses or bike helmet. 3: They needed to let outside sound in a bit so I could hear traffic. The Bose MIE2i does all that. You do get a lot of wind noise while biking, but from experience, this is unavoidable unless you go with an in-ear solution that blocks all outside noise. The sound is very good out of these ear buds - bass is actually present again in my music. I bought these at full price and I feel that I got my money's worth.

    Cable fell apart 3 months after warranty expired.

    • Written by from Woodbridge

    These sounded ok for the short period of time that I had them. Just a few months after the warranty expired, the cable where it connects to the ear piece started to break apart. The model I had was the IE2's which are the same as the MIE2i from a construction standpoint so watch out for these as well. When I brought them in to the Bose store to have them look at them they said the the warranty expired 3 months ago and that I could replace them for $50. I would recommend looking at another product, this will fall apart in a very short period of time.

    Buy them...you won't be sorry

    As with many other reviewers, I've tried and reviewed many other comparable headsets. I chose the MIE2i after returning a set of Ultimate Ears and reading other reviews here. I use my headset every day for both music and conference calls. The sound in both cases is great. The build quality good and after 4 months of use there is no visible wear. These are the most comfortable headsets I've owned and have no problem wearing them for a couple hours without any discomfort. Any longer than that, I might alternate using one bud at time to give my ear a rest. The mic is pretty sensitive and will pick up background conversations so be careful and aware of that and mute your phone as appropriate.

    Great comfort - bad sound!

    • Written by from Knezha

    I am really impressed by the comfort of the MIE2i (I own 2 sony's in ear headphones, V-Moda vibrato and some cheap headphones) Bose is my top comfort pair.
    I will note + and - by my experience

    +
    great fit and comfort
    good call quality

    -
    BAD sound(sound is really flat,neutral)when I use some EQ it makes it little better for different styles of music but for $125 please give me a break !
    this is not sports earphones, first time that you got little sweat drop on the cable and mic and volume are off(I send them to bose and they replace it by new pair)I run 3 times a week usually 15 miles total and I can tell you my bose broke after 1 month of use, so if you sport this is not the best choice.

    Great for smaller ear canals

    • Written by from Santa Ana

    The ear piece on this headset is awsome for anyone who's had trouble with standard in ear head sets falling out all the time because your ear is too small, even with the smallest adapters provided. I had a hunch this design would solve my problem and it did, plus for sports (cycling and running) you can definitely hear what's going on around you without losing the feeling of being immersed in the music or whatever you're listening too. Quality of sound is more than adequate as well. I've easily spent well over the price of these babies trying to find in ear buds that would stay in!

    Extraordinary Design

    These headphones are near perfect. These are unlike any other in-ear headphone I have ever experienced before. Even after listening to music for hours they feel light weight and very comfortable. The warranty provided by Bose is very nice and seals the deal. The actual design is aesthetically confusing but when they're in your ear they look and more importantly feel great.

    Not Bad

    • Written by from APO

    For this price they can be better. However, the Bose name is what makes it pricey.
    The mic and remote control are pretty good. I heard complaints on not being noise canceling. These headphones are mobile headphones, I run with these and I do want to hear whats around me as well. It its contrary to have noise canceling mobile headphones. I gave these four stars, the price is why I don't give this five stars.

    I am VERY pleased

    • Written by from Murrieta

    I've been wanting to pick up a pair of these for a while. I finally got them today and I am very pleased. The range is just as you'd expect from Bose. The bass is punchy, not overwhelming, but just right. The highs are crisp and wonderful.

    That's all. I really like them.

    Great Headphones!!!!! Excellent for working out.

    • Written by from Laguna Niguel

    I was looking for headphones that would stay in while working out and also offer great sound quality, and these do just that. These are not meant to be noise canceling headphones and they even tell you that, which for working out is great especially when going on runs I like being able to hear my surroundings. I have not had any issues with sweat damaging the controls at all and I use them quite regularly and have been rough on them so they are durable as well. If you're looking for good quality headphones that will stay in then these are the ones for you.

    Best headphones I've tried yet

    • Written by from Anchorage

    Pros: balanced sound, comfortable fit, good controls. Unlike in ear headphones with pinhole openings these sound great all the time where others get better or worse as you move them around. They are a bit tricky to put in at first but they sound great. Mic is actually near your mouth rather than way down at the Y like most -so u don,t have to hold the mic up to be heard. Also own the highly rated klipsch S4i (they are c7@p by comparison) so glad I got these to replace them.
    Cons: plug is a very tight fit if u are using an apple bumper case - but it will fit. The included case is 4 times bigger than it needs to be which makes it useless for carrying them around in your pocket. So um yeah - had to really dig for the cons....

    Ahhhh.... finally!

    • Written by from Erie

    Because of the shape of my ears, the Apple ear buds never stay put (AT ALL) in my ears. And, after wearing them for extended periods they hurt my ears. The sound is okay, but I'm used to my Bose noise-cancelling headphones and Definitive Technology speakers.

    I hesitated buying these because of the price, but figured why not give them a try. WOW. If you are ready to step up to a really good set of earbuds, give them a shot!

    PROS:
    1. These buds are so comfortable you hardly even know they are in.
    2. They stay put. Period. No slipping at all.
    3. The sound is crystal clear. The bass obviously isn't that deep since they are earbuds but it is clean and firm. The mids and highs are fantastic. I hear things in songs I've never heard before.

    CONS:
    1. They are a bit more difficult to get in and out but that is more than offset by how well they fit and stay put.
    2. As is true with all Bose products you pay a little more for the Bose name.

    Great Sound, Horrible Design

    • Written by from Lexington

    Let me start by stating that these earbuds are great. I love the way the sound is produced. There is a good balance of low's to high's (not perfect, but good for about 90% of the public).

    The only thing that kills me with these, and also why I will not use them again, is the silicone ear piece. It's very comfortable while in your ear, but taking the earbud out is almost impossible in one step. Every time I remove the earbud, the silicone earpiece remains in my ear. This is THE MOST FRUSTRATING thing to have occur when your desk phone is ringing and you try to answer... I have replaced the silicone twice hoping to get a fix, with no result. I have moved on from these headphones as a result, and will not replace them with Bose until they fix this issue. Very, very poor design.

    Amazing sound for in-ear headphones

    • Written by from San Jose

    I picked up the Bose MIE2i Mobile Headset to use for running. My criteria included:

    * Lightweight
    * Good sound
    * Stable in-ear fit
    * Controls on the stem

    I use these with my iPod Nano when running. The molded earpiece fits perfectly, doesn't move during running, and are comfortable for extended wearing. I would have preferred the mic to be an inch or so lower, but it really isn't that noticeable when on the move.

    Because I am just starting to run again (after rehabbing an achilles injury), I am using a couch to 5k podcast, and since my route takes me across some busy intersections I need to sometimes pause the program until it's safe to cross. The controls on the stem are easy to use even when running.

    The sound quality is also superior to other headsets I have tried, and I was quite pleased with the range. My other headphones sounded quite tinny for the most part in comparison.

    I will see how durable these are, but from early experience I am a fan.

    Perfect!

    • Written by from WHITEHALL

    Sound is fantastic. The middle size ear pieces that came already installed were exactly right. I can hardly feel them. Worth the price! Logging onto the Bose website, replacement ear pieces are 2 pairs $8.99 with free shipping. You can't beat that! Wonderful! Glad I spent the extra bucks! Very happy...rich clear sound.
