    Worth every Penny

I purchased these headphones a year ago, still rocking out! To be completley honest I bought the Dr. Dre Beats first, poor design in my opinion and not worth the extra money. Needless to say I returned them and bought these. I carry my phone on my hip and the fact that the jack has an elbow on it and is wraped with a good amount of rubber is a plus. The Beats by Dre began to get kinked the first week of use, and after a month would have torn. Plus the "StayHear" ear buds stay put and are compfortable to wear all day long. I know cause I have done it. And that says a lot cause I have small ears and most headphones hurt my ears after prolonged use. You won't be disapointed with these. Also Bose's customer service is great.

I purchased the MIE2i when I first bought my iPhone 4 about a year ago. The quality of these headsets are remarkable. Jazz and Classical are crisp and Metal, yes Metal, is equally great. I bought them because they were Bose, but kept them because of the quality. I can't recommend any other headset for mobile use.

Very comfortable, but the cord is ugly

This pair of headphones is very comfortable and fits nicely into the ears. Unlike other earphones, this pair doesn't drop out of your ears no matter how you move. It also requires no periodical adjustments and will stay nicely for a long time.

The inline control works great on the iPhone and MacBook Pro and is very accessible. Microphone also works well without requiring one to hold it near the mouth to get better voice quality during a conversation.

The only reason I'm giving this product a 4-star is because of the cord. It would look much better and fit better with the style of the iProducts if it's all black or all white, but not like how it is now.

Overall, this is money well spent. It works as advertised and pleases me with the very comfortable "StayHear" tips. It would be a 5-star product had the cord looked nicer.

    Bose vs BW

    • Written by from San Diego

let me begin by saying i have owned the bose IE1. These headphones worked great for about six months, then the cord that connects to the iPod started to go out. ( i never use the case i simply stick them in my pocket). i contacted bose and they sent me some new headphones the IE2 without the mic. These have worked wonderfully for me for over a year and i still do not have any problems with them. I simply want some headphones with a mic on them.
after reading multiple reviews i was down to the BW C5 or Bose MIE2i. So i went to the store and bought the BW C5. Now don't get me wrong these head phones are great and have amazing sound to them. The one thing that i didn't not like is the way they fit into the ear. Once they are in and someone is talking to you, it sounds like you are under water and in my opinion they are not as comfortable as the bose headphones. Since apple has a great return policy i simply took them back and traded them for the Bose.
I have read the reviews where people say the mic goes out when a little sweat hits the mic and I was skeptical at first but my prior experience with bose warranty/customer service was awesome.
I now use them and they sound great, in the lows, mids and highs. The mic and the volume controls work with no problem and they are very comfortable. I could have been

decide Bose or Dr. Dre ear plugs

    • Written by from New York

Decision was Bose or Dr Dre ear plugs - Dr. Dre areare great looking headphones - Red and a cord that doesn't get tangled. I originally had the bose ear plugs but didn't like them due to the cord getting tangled...hence I bought these and was planning on returning the Bose.....NOT A CHANCE now....the Bose actually stay in the ear. I tried every ear plug and they didn't stay in the ear. Kept falling out ----- for $165...you would think that is an essential part of a ear plug........can't comment further.....wished they did stay in....back to th Bose

I've had these headphones for about six months now, and they work fantastically! The remote control is a godsend, and I haven't heard a set of headphones that come even close to the balance these provide. It's easy to find a set of headphones that give decent bass, but these give stellar bass that is balanced with rich mid tones and crisp treble. These are a must-have for anybody that enjoys listening to music.

First Review Ever! - you need to know

This is the first review I have ever written for a product! I will start with the pros but there are definitely some cons. PROS - without a doubt, the most comfortable headphones I have worn, they do not fall out and fit very well. The sound quality is well above average and carry a really nice bass. CONS - I am a triathlete and BOSE needs to stop marketing this for active wear. I am actually on my 2nd (soon to be 3rd) set. The mic/volume control has gone out twice. While i still have the sound, I have zero control over volume etc. Lastly and most aggravating, the phone drops into voice control constantly. If you have no intentions of running or biking, than these are awesome. Do not buy these if you are active and plan on using it for runs or biking.

    Great Headset, Worth Your Money

Pros: Great Sound, Great Bass, includes a luxurious leather storing case, The Stay - on ear tips are not just what the name states. You can listen to willow smith and whip your hair back and forth as you wish and never will these fall out of your ears.
Cons: Noise Reduction is not the best. These are not Noise Reduction headphones to even start with. But don't let this fool you into not buying them. The cable can tangle.

Bose has done it again, great pair of earphones, I was well pleased. Hope this can help

Great sound but terrible build quality

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I've been using Bose Ear buds for about 2+ years now, and in that time frame I've had to replace them every 4-6months (This is free exchange at the Bose store, not repeated purchases). The buds work beautifully for a few months, then for no reason the buds' sound quality diminishes and then cease to work. I've been told by the store its a "bad batch" but its a repeat offense.

If you are addicted to the sound and live near a Bose store, which will gladly replace them if they fail, then they are worth the purchase. Otherwise, these will fail you way before their time.

    Well worth the money!

I fly regularly for work, and I like to have headphones that let me drown out the background noise of the plane and focus on my music or whatever I'm doing. I wanted to find a model that wasn't exactly noise-canceling because they take up a lot of precious space in my carry-on, but something that was of the same quality. After finding these headphones, I'm done looking! Not only do they help reduce background noise, the Bose quality shines through in clarity and deep rich bass.

These headphones are absolutely amazing! I just happened to be at a Target store tonight, so I picked them up for $99, but after hearing their quality I would have gladly paid the $129 price on the Apple Store. They are well worth the money! Highly recommended!

    Love them!, All around greatness

I read many reviews prior to the purchase, being a tad weary about the price of this little wonder, and I have to say that after going for it, don't regret it in the slightest bit.
Sound is Awesome, just a little twitch on the equalizer and they worked perfect for my taste. I guess that yes, you can find crisper sound on other high(er) end brands, but my simple ears possibly won't perceive the difference with other models. Anyway, it's what you come to expect when you fork out $130 for buds.
What really makes me love them is how incredibly comfortable they are. Those odd looking fins do magic. I have very sensitive ears / ear canals so I have a tendency to loathe ear buds, but you can't always carry around your studio headphones all the time, can you? so i just take the pain or take frequent breaks. Not a problem with MIEs, as soon as they wore them the first time I felt a change, they rest not on the ear canal, but spread their pressure all around the ear. and not being inserted for placement, they let my ear canal breath, and this is wonderful for comfort. Kudos Bose!
As for the controls, pretty standard, work just as the regular iPhone ones, so nothing other than expected.

After a few days in use, I can truly recommend this headset. You will be putting your money to good use, specially if your ears hurt / itch every time you listen to music!!

You don't know your wearing them

    • Written by from Charleston

I purchased several other high quality well known brands before these and I must say these are without a doubt the most comfortable earbuds I have ever worn. You can have them in for hours and not even know your wearing them. The StayHear tips work perfectly just try all three to find the best fit for you. I do a lot of walking so its great that they are not noise isolating as you can be aware of things (like cars) around you, But it does not jepordize the sound quality which I feel is excellent. Vocals are crisp and clear. The build quality is excellent with an angled plug to the thick cable cover, and being able to adjust the volume, change tracks or take a phone call make these Bose mobile in ear Headphones the Ultimate listening experience. I would give them 6 stars if I could

I've bought 2 pairs of these. The 1st pair started losing sound in one of the ear-buds and when I went to the Bose store they told me they couldn't fix it so they replaced them. My 2nd pair, I've used them for less than a year and I have the same problem. I'm going to return them and switch to a better brand b/c this is hella annoying.

Wet T-Shirt Winners end up Losers...

when they use these headphones. I'm a runner and when I finish a run I'm soaked and so are the Bose headphones I use. They withstood about a year of my toxic sweat, but failed a month after the warranty period. When I called Bose, I was honest with them and told them that the phones were outside the warranty period, but they not only replaced them they gave the next model up. I was excited until I received them in the mail and realized the remote controls were directly on the right line and knew before I started running with them they wouldn't stand up to moisture. And guess what, they didn't. So I'm back browsing headphones in the Apple Store and looking for the two magical words that will bring me running nirvana: Sweat Proof. I wish Apple wouldn't include headphones in the the box when purchasing an iPhone or iPod because we all know they will succumb to moisture. They could take $30 off the overall price, because we all know those phones that come with it, are worthless in my opinion.

Great sound and clarity, however one earbud will lose sound after less than a year. I bought a set and Bose replaced the orginal set under warranty after 7 months of use. Now the second set has the same problem after only 4 months of use. They sound great, feel great but do not stay in your ears, if you are a runner and most importantly they just don't last!!

    Comfortable, weightless, rich Bose sound.

If you want to replace the Apple headset with something more comfortable and better sounding, these are the pair to get. Even with the included set of stay-in style earpieces, you don't feel them in at all. And they sound fantastic. I even think they look kind of cool.

But the best part is the sound. It's deep, it's rich, and it's full range. Your typical Bose experience in something small enough to fit in your pocket. These are your house, city phones. The Quiet Comfort you can keep for the plane.

If you like the sound of Bose--and gosh, I do--these are a value.
