It disassembles nicely to pack in suitcases etc. in a variety of ways.
I have traveled with it for years and it's my favorite and yes I use a wireless keyboard so ergonomically it's wonderful, too.

Just finished putting the stand together and fixating my computer and display and i think it looks awesome. although it is rather tall compared to my Sony Playstation 3D Display monitor, I think this stand is worth the money and definitely worth the purchase.

I recently started a new job and was lucky enough to be given a Macbook Pro. Only trouble is that this means I had to work hunched over on a 13" laptop all day. They did supply a second monitor, but it seemed a bit disjointed with the laptop being so low.

The laptop is now raised up nearly to the same height as my second monitor and I am able to type on a wireless keyboard rather than having my wrists hanging on the edge of the laptop all day. My back is happy and I feel more focused. I did't realize exactly how hunched-over I had been until I got this! I can sit upright now!

The metal part of the stand seems well constructed, and the little plastic caps and rubber strips keep the laptop firmly in place. I would't really call it wobbly at all, but perhaps a little bouncy if you push the laptop.

The only thing I would change is the clear bar that holds the metal pieces together. I wish it was in the middle or back instead of the front. The angle is fine, but I wouldn't complain it it was a bit steeper so I could get the screen closer to me.

Pro tip: stick a few Cabledrop cable clips to it and your cables/cords will always be close at hand! I stuck two to the back for power and network, and one underneath for the second monitor.

The plastic on the bottom makes it look cheap, and when my MacBook Pro 17" sits on it, it is pretty wobbly. If i bump into the desk, it could easy wobble off the stand. I returned it and am still searching for a more sturdy stand, as the 17" is pretty heavy.

I have used my Griffin stand about 2 years and have never had a problem with it. My screen is at the proper height for easy viewing. The plastic clips on the ends of the arms holding the computer keep it on the stand. I am pleased with the stand and am glad that I purchased it.

Not bad quality, average price, but wobbly :/

The metal parts don't fit snug into to plastic part at the bottom so it makes it kind of wobbly, especially because the two metal parts aren't connected in any way except for the plastic piece holding it. The rubber on it is nice quality, and even with the grips there and the plastic tabs keeping it from slipping of, i would like some more stability so I think I'm going to return it. I don't like that i can't put pressure on it without it wobbling either..

hopefully they will accept the return because just from inserting the metal sides into the plastic scratches the inside of it, every time you take it out or insert it the metal sides completely scratch the plastic. I liked the thought of the ease of portability, but not if its going to scratch it up.

I bought this stand thinking it was going to work well for comfort and sharing purposes, but the moment I put my MacBook Pro that costs over 1,200 dollars, on the elevator stand thing, it fell and the screen got cracked. Luckily I had the Apple proteciton plan so I got it replaced.

    RE: Danger Review

The person that posted the review and stated that the laptop could slide off did not put it together properly. It comes with two clear pieces of plastic that must be attached to the stand. These snap on and secure the laptop from any sliding.

Overall this is a good product that certainly does the job well.

    Elegant Notebook Stand

I like this notebook stand. It has an elegant and minimal design and lifts my MacBook Pro 15" on a perfect ergonomic high. Furthermore it provides better cooling and the fans speeds up less often.
My Elevator came with small, transparent end caps that prevent the notebook from slipping down the forks.

I'm 6'4" and I hate hunching over my macbook pro in order to see the monitor. This is one of the highest, most secure stands I've found out there. I have two: 1 for the office and 1 for my house. I use it with an extra keyboard and mouse since it does "elevate" the the laptop. I think it would be awkward to use without for long periods of time. It also seems to keep my laptop running cooler than when I rest it on a stack of art books. My only wish, is that it was a bit taller--or maybe I should just start buying taller desks.

Danger of screwing up your laptop.

I don't normally do reviews, but I want to warn anyone that your expensive macbook pro has a danger of sliding right off the elevator. The two slats your computer rests on is at an angle. In certain conditions (too humid, too cold, too hot - haven't figured it out yet) your computer may slide off and in my case land on the floor and get damaged.

Just a warning for anyone interested. I have no clue why they are at an angle anyway.

I just got the Griffin Elevator Laptop Stand last week. It works great so far. I wanted to use this when I did DJ work, and so far so good. It does come with the little ends that keep the laptop from sliding off the two forks. I love the build quality.
