Not clear about all the bad reviews. Mine has worked great right out of the box. The app on the iPhone quickly found two great frequencies that work. Yes, there is a little static when no song is playing, but it is a transmitter so you have to expect a little! I rarely hear the static when a song is playing. I've had 4 brands of these and this is by far the best one.
Just received it and made a little "road test" and I'd say that it is better than what I expected! The first frequency that was found didn't work, but I tried another one and it worked fine!
This product works well as long as you are in an area with open frequencies. You won't find an open frequency in a large city like Toronto.
I have an older car without an AUX input so this is really my only way to play the iPod/iPhone through the car stereo and I have found it worked on long trips, but not for every day driving around the city.
