    Works well within limits

    • Written by from Toronto

This product works well as long as you are in an area with open frequencies. You won't find an open frequency in a large city like Toronto.

I have an older car without an AUX input so this is really my only way to play the iPod/iPhone through the car stereo and I have found it worked on long trips, but not for every day driving around the city.

    Doens' work!!

I wish i could return and take my money back! Does not work most of the times and when it does the sound quality is bad! I would rather pay double and have a reliable (as promised at least) system than system!

    Works great

    • Written by from Huntington

Not clear about all the bad reviews. Mine has worked great right out of the box. The app on the iPhone quickly found two great frequencies that work. Yes, there is a little static when no song is playing, but it is a transmitter so you have to expect a little! I rarely hear the static when a song is playing. I've had 4 brands of these and this is by far the best one.

    Biggest waste of money!!!!!

    • Written by from Chevron Island

My other half bought this for me as the cd player in our car isn't working. This one was recommended as being one of the best, most powerful (and most expensive - cost is $100.00 where we live) one on the market. The sound is terrible, really static-y and I spend the whole trip driving around constantly searching for a "better" station and never finding one which is incredibly annoying. Even the app that uses the GPS to find the best frequency is a load of rubbish as all of the recommended stations it comes up with are far worse than my "best" station. Also, when driving around in certain areas I can very slightly improve the sound by holding the device up in the top of the windscreen - so convenient to drive like that. NOT. And besides, the cord isn't even long enough for me to hang it up in a spot that receives better reception so it's a lose lose situation. It's a shame I had to rate it one star because it doesn't deserve it. Do not bother!

    Worst purchase of my life

    • Written by from Waynesburg

This thing worked for about 2 months then broke. I still have yet to find a good iPod car adapter. I have tried at least 5 and they all end up breaking in the end.

    Piece of Junk

    • Written by from Roselle

I bought this because my old one broke. This is a piece of junk. The static is horrible and the auto tune is a joke. If I could give this zero stars, I would. Stay away from this product. I'm returning mine as soon as possible.

    disappointed - too much static

    • Written by from Groton

This is my second car radio adapter from the Apple Store. Strike two. This one produces too much static. I have tried many, many frequencies. Yes, there are many stations in my area, but this device does not have the power to get within the discrimination capabilities of my Toyota's radio. Also, the connector is too big and requires me to take the Apple cover off my iPhone 4 to make a connection. Uggh.

    My Search Continues

    • Written by from Texas City

I bought this when I bought my iPhone 4. It worked sometimes. It was very static prone. I could hold it up to my dashboard and it would get clearer or hold it towards the roof but like I'm going to do that while driving around. The fact that it didn't have a holder was annoying. I had to just lay it on my seat so it kept sliding around everywhere. I returned it to get one with a dock but that was a bomb also. So my search for the perfect transmitter continues.

Never once have I had an issue works right out of the box. Charges the device while you listen to your music or even movies that you want to listen through your car speakers? no problems. I've used it with my iPhone 3g, 4, and 4s and my iPod touch and nano. It works great. I don't understand the other negative reviews. Great buy!!!

Difficult to find a clear frequency, cable and ipod disconnect easily. I wanted to avoid the cassette cord tornado of death, but this is not the answer.

    • Written by from St-Etienne-de-Lauzon

Just received it and made a little "road test" and I'd say that it is better than what I expected! The first frequency that was found didn't work, but I tried another one and it worked fine!

    Almost Adequate

    • Written by from Grand Rapids

I tried using this product in my Mercury Sable and was very disappointed. The TuneCast transmitted a very weak signal and I was running the volume at around 80% just to hear it. My antennae is at the rear of the car, so that might account for the poor reception, but overall, it's a piece of junk.
I would never think about purchasing this product again.

Worked for a while, then stopped.

    • Written by from Riverton

Bought this is June and it worked fantastically for about 4 months. Then it started getting super static-y all the time unless you were driving on VERY open highways. It got to the point where it started cutting out a lot, even if it was on a 'good' station. And then today it just stopped working altogether. I have no idea why. Anyway, it only lasted me 7 months, which was a disappointment considering its price.

    great..... when it works.

    • Written by from Geraldton

I've had 2 of these. The first worked brilliantly then after about a year or so it just stopped working, I thought for $90 it'd have more life in it. None the less i was happy enough to fork out the cash for another one. The new one has been working for about 6 months and now has simply decided to work intermittently some days i'll get perfect uninterrupted sound. The next it simply works as a charger, the FM receiver just doesn't light up, (yet it still charges my phone) what's more frustrating is when it works then cuts in and out during songs. So I'll hear my tunes then static then my tunes, all the while still charging (so not a connection issue) so frustrating. I've spent $180, already i think i'll just change my car stereo to an ipod compatible one.

    Oh yea.

    • Written by from SAINT LOUIS

This one works well with my gen6 iPod.

Can automatically scan for a FM channel that is open or weak enough to allow your iPod to play back thru the car's radio. A great feature when driving a long distance. Cable length is enough for me to route it in my center console keeping the clutter down. The 30 pin connector is very similar to the standard Apple cable allowing easy plugging/un-plugging. Good sound quality.

I see where the lowest reviews are related to iPhone usage. I do not have an iPhone so I can't relate to those issues. All I can say is that this one works well for me with my iPod.

I love it for the 4/4S but what about 5?

    • Written by from Whittier

This works great I've had several over the years. My last one quite working after two years I guess that's not too bad. I love it for my 4/4S but am thinking about buying an IPhone 5 and wonder if it will work with that one. Otherwise love it. Oh by the way I live way out in the country so I don't know about big city use but where I live and the medium size cities around me it works great.
