    A must have for Applephile.

It's a fantastic sculpture for your Apple. The clear subwoofer really looks like an apple. The wiring is a bit messy and there is no OFF button. I also wish it had BLUETOOTH. How cool would that be for your iPhone/iPod/iPad/Macbook. Are you listening Harman Kardon engineers?

    Impressive

Got these a couple weeks ago and I've fallen in love with it ever since.
As mentioned in other reviews, way louder than expected yet the quality of the sound does not decrease. Very well-designed, modern and unique. Perfect to pair with any PC/Mac and even works well with my PS3 and TV. Its easy plug-n-play allows me to frequently switch usage between devices.

Of course there are always certain negativities with everything.
First, the black stands which holds the speakers are very dust-attractive and its sticky texture makes dusting it rather difficult. Secondly, I wish that Harman Kardon would've put an ON/OFF switch or button somewhere on the two speakers so I don't have to get under my desk to turn it off from behind the subwoofer.

With that said, the SoundSticks III is still an amazing set of computer speakers, priced reasonably. After all, you don't really need to spend more than $200 on computer speakers, in my opinion.

These speakers are awesome for the price, and look very good also. I can't compare them to anything,as they are my first set of computer speakers. I have them hooked up to my I - Mac and the sound is incredible. You can't go wrong if you purchase this speaker system.

Had my first set with one of my macs; I also use one on my flat screen...better than anything I've heard...I don't know why they aren't marketed more widely.

I was browsing around my local Apple Store when I saw a pair of these speakers hooked up to the Mac display, and being a music loving addict, had to check these out. Ohh my goodness, They were AMAZING. I love base, and highly underestimated these speakers. They gave off enough, that I actually felt the base waves in my chest. They're crazy good. And they have a sleek, simple look to them. I suggest you get the Soundsticks III before you feel left out.

    OH MAN. sonic mind explosion.

When looking for speakers, I didn't want to go for a run-of-the-mill set that looked simple. I wanted something remarkable. Something unique. And then I came across the SoundSticks III.
I am BLOWN AWAY by the sound quality. For the price, these are a steal! A wide, balanced range of frequencies. For you bass lovers - these don't disappoint.
Aesthetics normally are not that important to me but these are beauties. I've never seen a more visually pleasant set of speakers. Truly a masterpiece.
    Recommended without hesitation!

I also hooked up to my FlatScreen it sounds great with the volume turned up. I recommend this for everyone. Oh the BASE is incredible!! The tv has a stronger output then the ipod or laptop.....dont get carried away & push the tv volume to the max, u may blow subwoofer....i came pretty %%%% close. Had a party and played this thing all night :-) Will try the Harman kardon boombox nxt.

I have these plugged into my iMac 27" and they are better than I expected. I am very familiar with Bose and I am not at all wishing I had bought anything else. Love the stereo sep and the full range of tone. I only wish I had bought them sooner. Gonna try these on my Sony 60" next - maybe another pair?

Great Looks & Even Better Sound

    • Written by from NORTH YORK

I usually don't write reviews on products I have purchased, but these speakers impressed me so much I felt I had to back up what has been already said even more.

Apparently the IIIs are very similar to the Soundstick IIs, with the difference being cosmetic only. The new speaker base is now black instead of a greyish blue. The sub emits a white light instead of blue, and the logos are silver now instead of gold. The sound is identical. Why fix what isn't broken I guess.

The sound from this system is phenominal to say the least. They have great depth and outstanding clarity. A very well balanced system that sounds great at any volume. My wife works for a major audio/video company (who does not offer such a product) and even she was blown away by them at the store. Very rich and full sounding. Thankfully the store we went to had the 3 choices we were looking at lined up side by side by side and we were able to compare the Soundsticks with the JBL Creature III and the Bose Companion 2 Series II speaker systems using The Beatles Dear Prudence as our test song. The Bose sounded very muddy and didn't offer anything to control and adjust the sound. They also look ugly. No thanks. While the JBL system did offer up a decent sound for such a compact system and have a fairly cool look to them, they just could not match the quality of sound, nor the looks from the HK. They ready do go great with the iMac. The decision was one of the easiest I have ever made.

If you are looking for a set of computer speakers and can afford them, the Harman Kardon Soundstick IIIs definitely deserve a look at the very least. Don't be surprised if it's these you end up taking home with you though. Five stars!

Love this combo sound system, but...

I will not go into all the accolades that everyone else has made about these speakers.
The only shortcomings I have found is with the Mac OS itself, there is no Global Equalizer.
With an equalizer the speakers could be fine tuned and would be spectacular computer speakers.

I have the Sound Sticks II and I was extremely impressed. They have great sound quality and absolutely no bass distortion. They are a work of art themselves. They don't exactly match my laptop (a black PC) though. Again, I was very impressed with the overall sound quality, something you'd expect from harman/kardon. They can handle being maxed out without distortion or threatening to fail on me. These are a keeper. The only downside is they aren't loud enough for me (compared to a more expensive 5.1 set).

Lust 4 the eye, lust 4 the ear, makes your crack reappear

    • Written by

I bought these speakers a few weeks ago, and they are word every penny.

    A few notes though:
The cables are not very long, it can get annoying if you have a laptop.
The bass volume button is on the subwoofer, so if you want to change the bass, you'll Have to dug under your desk, gracefully showing your crack, while adjusting the bass.
Plus, if you have a laptop, and you unplug the cord from your laptop, you'll have to put the speakers out, to avoid the humming the follows. And yes, every time you want to turn them of, your crack makes his reappearance

These points don't counterweight the amazing sound or looks, just wanted to tell the dark side of the beauty.

    Cheers!
