    great sound

    • Written by from kitchener

the style is a bit different for sure. But what killer sound good stuff. a bit bigger then the sticks look about 12" tall - the fish bowl is medium pumpkin size.
These would have been great with my PC . But with my new imac a bit of over kill. But like a spoiled kid I am keeping them. sound is so very clear - ok price

Best set of speakers I've ever owned

    • Written by from chanhassen

I just purchased these and I'm so pleased with the results. For the money ($170), they sound amazing and they're nice to look at too. I can hear the highs and lows perfectly and the bass sounds great too. I'm so glad I purchased these. There are a lot of cords to keep track of, but that's my only complaint. Don't think about it any longer and go buy them, you'll love them!

    MAC Candy...Delicious!

    • Written by from Kitchener

Bought these for my new iMAC (forethcoming) and agree with all the positive comments on these speakers. Sound quality is about as good as you're going to realistically get in a small computer format. Good looks, easy setup, enjoyable sound. May have cost twice whay my old Logitech 2.1 system was, but it's easily 4 times better! I recommend it highly.
As others have stated, you may have to play with the subwoofer level to get the sound you like; also the touch pads can be annoying at first if the speakers set back out of arms-length reach, but I was able to achieve a level using the computer, itunes and touch pad volume settings where I don't have to use the pads at all. In any case, these are minor points as the sound speaks volumes.

    Attractive with excellent sound quality

    • Written by from Baltimore

I wanted something as attractive as my new iMac. But being a professional musician, I didn't want to sacrifice quality for more superficial aspects. So I decided to take a chance, betting on Harman Kardon's reputation. I am in no way disappointed. A wonderful partner to the iMac - similar simple elegance and great, reliable function. These speakers meet the demands of classical music. While no match for my high end surround speakers. they do a superior job as computer speakers for casual listening. I am very happy with them, and can recommend them highly.

I received the Sound Sticks III and immediately set them up in minutes. It took longer to unwrap then to attach. The sound and quality is crisp and true. Wow, I did not know what I was missing til I hooked these up.

    Look great, sound fantastic!

    • Written by from Montreal

I was in the market for some new speakers for my *ahem* PC. After shopping around and looking at various makes, model and retailer websites, I settled on these (Apple was the cheapest, Amazon wanted ridiculous money for importing them). It was a tough decision between the JBL Alien III 2.1 and Harmen Kardon SoundSticks III. A long time ago I had a set of the JBL Alien II speakers, I was blown away with them, cheap and sound great. Well, the SoundStick have done it for me again. As other people have said, don't expect too much from the mid-range tones, play with the equaliser a little to get them sounding right. Final thoughts: Glad I spent the extra money. They look great and sound fantastic.

    STYLE AND CRISP SOUND

    • Written by from HUNTINGTON BEACH

THE VISUAL OF THIS SYSTEM IS UNMATCHED. IT'S FUTURISTIC WITH AN ART DECO FEEL. WHEN I HEARD THE TOP RANGE THRU THE BASE TONES, COMBINED WITH WHAT FEELS TO BE A WALL OF SOUND, I WAS PLEASED TO SAY THE LEAST. IT ALSO PLUGED INTO MY HDTV AND WORKED JUST AS GREAT. IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT AT A GOOD PRICE.

    great speakers

    • Written by from Anaheim

I hooked these speakers to my new 27 inch imac and was very happy with the way they sound. The one thing I didn't like was that the on and off button is on the sub woofer and the best location for it was on the bottom of my desk. I had to turn them off when not useing computer. the problem was solved after I bought new power strip made by monster witch has 3 outlets 1 for speakers so that when you shut down computer or put it to sleep the power to speakers turns off and on when you come out of sleep.problem solved

    A-MA-ZING!

    • Written by from San Jose

Both acoustically and aesthetically, these are the best desktop speakers I've EVER heard or seen.

Just received my new 27" MAC, went shopping for the BEST VALUE for speakers, read the reviews and decided on the H-K Soundsticks.

100% pleased. Great sound across the spectrum, sexy looking and the perfect compliment to the MAC desktop.

I used to have a Harman Kardon stereo system in my previous car and the sound was crystal clear. Just on my prior experience alone with their products I ordered the SoundSticks to compliment my new iMac. Thank you Harmon Kardon. My neighbors probably hate me by now but thats how it goes sometimes. For those out there contemplating on purchasing these speakers, look no further as you will be as pleased as I am. The sound these speakers produce is loud and crystal clear. The speakers are also asthetically pleasing as they flank both sides of the iMac.

Until someone invents completely cordless electronics, these speakers and subwoofer are perfect. Beautiful design and mind-blowing sound. Completely transforms the experience of listening to music and watching movies to a different level. Excellent quality for the price and highly recommended.

    My Harmans

    • Written by from Colbert

I ordered these a couple of weeks ago. Out of the box i was surprised to feel how heavy the soundsticks were. The black ring around the base of each stick is very dense, making them very stable and less apt to toppling over. After i got everything hooked up i was very disappointed with the volume until i realized that their volume wasnt controlled through my macbook, but rather by 2 touch sensitive buttons on the right stick. The sticks sound amazing. Crisper than the 200w Bose reflecting speakers that they have now completely replaced. Initially found the subwoofer's sound quality to not even hold a candle to the quality of the sticks, but after a couple weeks of using them the suspension in the sub isnt quite as stiff and its beginning to sound much better. So fair warning, these require a bit of a break-in period before they live up to their full potential. I was also planning on purchasing some studio monitors for we start recording again but i feel that these will do as good or near as good of a job so i'll probably just end up using these guys. I love this set up. I highly recommend getting for anyone who want high quality sound at a moderate volume. As far as computer speakers go, these are the loudest ive ever heard. Get them!

Great speaker system. Rich full sound, enough to fill the house. My only knock on them is that there isn't a connection for a headset should you need to switch over ... Otherwise this classic style from HK is PERFECT!!

    Soundsticks III 2.1

    • Written by from Norman

I absolutely love these speakers! I bought them about two months ago and am really glad that I did! They are a huge improvement over the speakers on my MacBook Pro or my LED Cinema Display! I have tried other speakers, namely Bose, and I feel that these are much better and they're cheaper as well!
