    Great sound at all levels.

    • Written by from Port Saint Lucie

I bought these on a whim and wasn't sure how I'd really like them. Hook up and install was pretty easy. With a a/v selector was able to hookup both the iMac and PC at my desk to them. Amazed at how great they sound. The sound sticks have great weight to them and won't easily be knocked around. I highly recommend them to anyone.

    Terrific Sound

    • Written by from Chicago

I purchased the first Soundsticks 10+ years ago (they served me well) and just received the 2.1 Channel system - love the flexibility of being able to attach them to my mobil devices or laptop. The thing that thrilled me most is that I truly believe they are better, stronger more powerful than the first series which I guess is only natural - newer, better. The sound is almost too big (turn the volume down!)

I thought I would miss the convenience of the old USB version (you could control volume via your computer) and the "volume controls on the speaker" concept worried me when I read about them. What they don't tell you is that you barely touch the +/- to adjust volume.
    Terrific System.

    Amazing longevity!

    • Written by from Anchorage

I bought my HK Soundsticks back in 2006! I've used them with an eMac initially, then a macbook, then had several iMacs come and go since then, but these speakers have continued to perform flawlessly throughout. They are used almost daily as I listen to music on iTunes, CD's, or internet radio with them at work. I haven't touched the subwoofer in years but the little blue light in it is still on, letting me know all is well way back under my desk behind the many other items that have become rooted there over the past eight years. Very happy with this purchase. Mine must be an earlier version than the current HK SoundSticks III as the bases on my satellites are silver colored.

Great sound with plenty of power for sub woofer speaker.

    • Written by from Tyler

I loved mine when I got them when they first came out. The only problem was in the sub woofer adjustment knob. After a year or so the connection started to not connect the sound and I had to jiggle it and put tape around it to hold it in place. Some form of defect in the circuit. That was about 8 years ago. I hope they have fixed it by now. If not, they need to look at it. Otherwise , really great speaker sound.

    Meh

    • Written by from Altamont

Sound is meh. Not great. Not horrible.
Touch volume control is difficult to use.
Power switch is in rear of sub (extremely inconvenient).
    Sub is illuminated (annoying).
Power switch is is a push style potentiometer that doubles as control for independent sub volume, and prone to breakage due to its poor component quality and mounting design.
    No headphone jack.

    A truly "Sound" investment!

    • Written by from East Providence

I saw these by chance on the Apple Store. I had been in the market for a sound-bar in the living room, but was hesitant to buy because of the overwhelming number of inconsistent reviews on pretty much every make/model I looked at. Then the HK SoundSticks III came into view. Raving reviews overall. I've never been disappointed with Apple or Apple-marketed products, and although this in not Apple made, I know historically of HK's quality and technology. So I bit, picked them up last week.

** WOW ** that's nice. These are incredible and not just for the price. You can add that to the wow factor ... but they really sound great. And they look hilariously cool (that's a good thing), just so space age. I love 'em.

Here's a thing to note about the subwoofer: with any low end, less expensive speakers / systems, the bass is the first thing to suffer. When I initially set the HK's up, the sub sounded kind of "hollow" like so many low end subs that struggle from lack of power. After about 10 minutes I realized that what I was listening to was more the cabinet the sub was sitting on, which on closer inspection was indeed resonating, causing my initial perception of significantly washed out bass. So I untangle the still bundled wiring, move the sub down onto a much heavier (dense) surface near the floor, and cranked it all back up. Yeah ** WOW ** what a difference. Solid bass, well defined, crisp and driving the way we all like it. I am more than satisfied with that.

On to the satellites. The only thing I wish about these is that the integrated cabling was another 6ft longer, but I'm not going to mess with that. They sound great, really deliver and don't break up at high volume. The ring-base you see on the bottom of the sats is surprisingly beefy, coated in thick rubber as well, so when you tilt the stick it absolutely will not fall over. And being able to tilt the sats that way adds super flexibility for placement.

Great speakers .. great look.. booming bass

    • Written by from New York

So after reading all the reviews I decided to get these. They live up to the expectations. Matter of fact... better. Perhaps because I quite love sound and have really good equipment in all other areas I wasn't really expecting what I received.

First let me say "articulate", the sound is very articulate. The bass coming from the sub is way more than I need to hear....actually turned the dial less than have. Additionally I would like to add....the look way better than the pictures. Well the left and right towers. The woofer still looks like a space craft.

My only I wish if something were different is ... The on/off switch is on the sub woofer.
    But I digress
To sum up, you will get
A very sleek, expensive looking towers.
Sound that will be most certainly loud enough.
Articulate...articulate.....the sound is articulate....be prepared to be impressed with the clarity of sound.
The bass, is booming....if you need.

Great set up, well worth the money.

Amazing Sub woofer control, Very nice Design, Overall best Speaker

    • Written by from Dhaka

I have read many users review before purchase harman kardon soundstricks. After listening music, it seems to me really very good speaker for low price.

The subwoofer's bass volume is controlled on the sub woofer itself. Overall very good Sound quality. It is enough for mid line music lover I think so. Many Thanks to harman kardon.

    Years of Use

    • Written by from Stephens

I've had these speaker for a few years now. They look great and sound pretty good for the price you pay for them. They're no B&O but they also don't cost nearly as much as they do either. Only problem I've had out of them is the casing for the smaller two speaking coming unglued and I had to glue them back. But I use them a lot so it's not surprising that it happened. A DEFINITE BUY!!!

    goood value

    • Written by from Monument

It's very easy set up. the cords aren't very long, but if placement of your subwoofer isn't too far from the hard drive, then you should be okay. The sound is decent. The subwoofer can't be adjusted, so you get what you get, but it's enough base for hip hop and techno listeners. Overall, a good pair of speakers for the price.

    Best Bang for Buck

    • Written by from Toronto

Bass is punchy without being overpowering, tweeters are accurate and bright. Excellent design, very modern, and functional. So great sound, great design, but I really wish they included the bass adjustment knob on one of the tweeters like they did the volume. Otherwise, perfect, especially for the price.

    World class

    • Written by from Longmont

I'm a bass lover, bought these for my dorm room and they are amazingly loud and have awesome sound quality for computer based speakers. They beat out alot of the stand alone units and entertainment systems that are easily twice the price. Well worth the money. The only problem is I wish they had the same blue glow as the soundsticks 2.

Great sound. But they recommend the subwoofer be placed under the desk. That would be fine except the on/off switch is on the BACK of the subwoofer which is under the desk.... They are proud about their design, but forgot the customer on that feature.

Good sound but not loud enough!

    • Written by from Elkhart

I like the look of the speakers and the sound is pretty good but they just don't have the ooomph that my klipsch system had! The sound cuts out when turned up to high and you never know what the volume is set at because its a touch volume system, not a knob. Kind of disappointed! If they had 1/2 stars i would've given it 2 1/2 stars.

    Phenomenal Sound - And Price!

    • Written by from Brampton

After a long hard debate between these and the much more expensive B&W MM-1s, I settled on the H/Ks and am exceedingly glad I did. These little guys pack impressive sonic performance in a relatively small, iconic package! Can't think of a better value in computer speakers.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for crystal clear highs, warm defined mids, and clear , punchy bass response. 4/1/2 out of 5 (lack of a remote costs 1/2 a star).

To those with negative reviews, I say: Really? This system rocks, jams, and just plain kicks it. Under 200 bucks? For real. Bass? True. Treble? Sweet. Listen to strings. Listen to a flute. Listen to a Fender. Vocals? I cried. Truly. And, I'm a poet and a musician. And not an employee of Harman! Hey, I also love the aesthetics of this system. What a cool look. Knock out design, sound, price and I bet long term quality. Buy anything else, pay more than $200 and you'll be very sorry. Sure, wireless systems are terrific. But, again, for the price, the sound, the style - a few harmless cables - I could care less. Thank you Harman Kardon! Thank you Apple, once again, a happy customer!
