The PX 100-IIi are everything I wanted for a good sounding portable set of headphones for my iPhone 4. They are nice and light, very comfortable and fold fairly quick and easily for transport.

I have only played with them for a short time with rock, blues, alternative music and a few podcasts. The sound quality is good however I find it a little on the bassy side with the mids and highs a little on the light side. A little more mid range and I probably would have given it 5 stars.

They are open headphones which do leak sound both ways which was the main feature I was looking for. The open design still allows you to hear what's going on around you. This is good when out for walks although not so good if you are in louder environments.

The inline remote does work just fine with the iPhone 4 for changing tracks however it is not covered in it's "Quick Guide". Multiple clicks for skipping ahead and back does take practice though, but I have that issue with all the other inline remotes including the one on Apple's ear buds.

I'm not an audiophile but these sound really clear. They aren't too bassy or trebly. The only thing is band might be tight in the beginning but you quickly get used to it. While these aren't noise cancelling, it blocks out noise well and I sometimes can't hear people around me :P Also sound leaks from the cans so others may be able to hear your music (decide if you care). The remote buttons work with my iPhone 4 perfect also. Since these are foldable, the joint sometimes pinches my neck when I wear these around.

Remote does not work with iphone 4

I have loved the Sennheiser PX100 headphones for years. I hate plugs in my ear. The sound of the PX100 is wonderful, especially for the kind of music I listen to(classical and jazz, primarily vocal) They are also comfortable.Every now and then I need to replace them and was delighted to see that there was now one offered with a remote. However, I was very surprised and disappointed to find that the remote does not work to change tracks on the iphone 4. I would have thought since this is an updated model and that they make remotes for their in ear headphones that do control the tracks that this would not be an issue. The volume controls work and you can switch between phone and music, but that's it. So, it is a compromise and I am not sure it is worth the extra money considering these limitations.

    "Under-Priced" and "Over-Rated"

Allow me to preface this review by saying that although I listen to a lot of music, and I am very passionate about all forms of ARTISTIC expression, I am not a connoisseur of hi fidelity sound and do not consider myself to be an "audiophile" by any definition of the word. I very much enjoy many genres of music and try to regularly expose myself to new artists and new styles of music in order to pull me out of my comfort zone; however, classical and accoustic music, as well as cast recordings of broadway musicals and operas get VERY heavy play in the rotation ot the music on my iPhone and represent a highly unbalanced precentage of the music in my digital library. The types of music I listen to could have heavily influenced my headphone preference/experience, and although I believe value (benefit derived from each dollar spent) should be considered important to anyone purchasing an item, total purchase price, in and of itself, is not currently an important consideration in most of my purchasing decisions.
